They have benefited from the social aspects of the classes as well as the musical. Ms. Shay is a gift to Tacoma. She makes every child feel so special and seen, we truly can't recommend these classes enough.

We signed up our daughter for Kindermusik at Kiddos and Kin when she was only 6 weeks old. We…read morebelieve that music is an excellent tool for teaching young, developing minds and we have not been disappointed. Ms. Shay is so talented at what she does. She engages with the kids well and always makes sure the learning environment is interactive and safe. Our daughter is now almost one year old and is extremely sociable, outgoing, and engaging and we believe Kindermusik is a big reason why. She gets extra giggly and bouncy from the moment we walk into the building for her weekly class. We highly recommend Kiddos and Kin. Sometimes I think I have more fun in the class than my baby. I learn a lot of great songs and tools for playing with my child and I know it helps our bond.

I also do not like tests of any kind. I called the school and they answered all my questions, told me what I would need to take the written exam. They were clear about all fees and cancellations and responsibilities of the individual who wanted to attend. I took the written exam with them and thankfully passed. I then practiced driving at home during the pandemic and when I got my shots this year went back and scheduled driving practice with them to make sure I was doing everything I was supposed to while driving. Ms. Tanya was polite and direct about what I needed to remember to do while driving. I passed my driving test and honestly grateful for their services. Ms. LaTonya and Staff are very nice people. They know that they are preparing you to do something that is helpful in life but is a big responsibility. So they take their jobs very seriously.

There was an instructional portion for the ceramics and then the kids were allowed to make their own items. She made a bowl and a cat. The family was also able to bring pizza and cupcakes in. Open Arts is a studio offering classes in drawing, pottery, sewing, voice, piano and guitar. Most…read moreclasses are for children/teens, but they do have a fair set of classes for adults as well. John, the director of Open Arts Studio, is a dynamic guy who is so charismatic...it's easy to envision him sitting at a piano, leading a bunch of people in song around a piano a la Cole Porter. He's the voice teacher and drawing teacher and he's great at both. Home schoolers note: they offer classes during the day for home school students! For me, one caveat is the price. It's not astronomical, but most classes are about $125 for a session, about 5 classes, and it adds up. I believe it's because of this that some classes aren't very full. On the up side, if you take more than one class, or have multiple children enrolled, you get a 10% discount. They hope to add cooking classes somewhere down the line. We are looking forward to the addition as I know my daughter would learn a lot because they are both organized and inspiring at Open Arts!

It can be difficult to hire, train, and keep the right people in place, and I've learned that instead of relying on the online scheduler, the best approach is simply to call. When I reached out directly, they showed me nothing but patience and flexibility, and worked very hard to accommodate my daughter's busy schedule. In the end, they got all of her drives scheduled, and I'm grateful for their effort. I've learned to give them grace and trust that they will do everything possible to make it work for families. My daughter also really enjoyed the instruction, and I feel like this will make her a safer driver. I would use them again in a second!
