Viking Driving School helped change my life! it only took 2 months for me to obtain my CDL A license. Now I'm working as a professional driver on track to making over $100k this year. The owner Kaisa personally helped me from the day I walked in and continues to help me with career planning and guidance. The secretary Veda has the most welcoming smile and greetings every time you walk into the school! All the teachers and instructors are experts in their field, they're so good they could teach a monkey how to drive! Viking Driving School is more than a school it's a family. read more

This school is one of my best choices i made. Staff members are very friendly, educated and treat you like your family Thank you Vikings helping my next adventure read more

They made sure I learned everything I needed to know to pass my CDL exam they broke it down to very simple basics .I never drove such a big truck before now I can. There test facility is in Marengo and it's a great area to learn how to drive because the roads you will be using are the kind you will find a lot of if you do long haul. read more

I strongly recommend this driving school if you can fit its program into your child or your schedule. I have completed 350k miles driving for various tasks involving a job and another job revolving around delivery of take out and catering orders large and small. Driving with drinks in the car for others. I had survived a car accident because of the steps I learned to take in this driving school and I am able to continue driving correctly, safely, and with respect to the laws of the road, law enforcement, and paying attention to others on the road and in traffic jams daily because of everything this driving school taught me when I was still an eager beaver behind the wheel trying to get to a convention called life. I hope my kids get to attend this driving school in the future when I am a dad. Thank you for the 3 second rule. Thank you for teaching me the difference between traffic lights and different road hazards and signs. How to drive in winter and rain. How to drive long distance too. I am proud to say I had driven to FL and back more than once now and had the pleasure of exploring Michigan all thanks to my experience in this school. I don't trust planes. I don't like risks. I am not paying for weighing my luggage at O'Hare or Midway. I fly private when I can afford it thru the Executive Airport. Mostly as a guest at weddings. I'm a proud graduate of Viking Driving School and I wouldn't choose any other driving school having ran into many practicing their lessons on the road with their students. This is by far the best experience. read more

The communication is horrible and from the dark ages. Nothing is on line so instructors showed up to the wrong location or did not show at all. I have no one to call. Scheduling was a nightmare and the company refused to reimburse me for times they failed to show up. Paid for two classes that I never got. read more

Viking driving school was amazing for three of my high schoolers. The classroom and extra driving experience more than prepared my kids for the drivers permit, test and for driving safely with confidence. The instructors were very professional and helpful. If I ever had any questions I would get a timely response. I highly recommend Viking Driving School. read more

While the instruction was good, the follow-through in filing the paperwork and test with the State of IL was very poor. It has taken over a month for my son's class participation and test to be scored so he could get his license. Part of this was the inefficiency and closing of the SOS, but the lack of follow-through from Viking would be why I would not recommend. They really dropped the ball. read more

I'd definitely recommend to anyone that wants to get a CDL License. The staff at the office were so friendly and helpful. I have no words for them, just incredible, starting from Kasia, Agnes and of course the incredible Maria who's gonna teach you everything about the pre-trip test. Then you gonna meet the 'on the field' instructors. Everyone is cool but me personally I spent the most of the time with Stoyan, this guy is AMAZING. Friendly, funny, he just made me feel so comfortable. This guy gonna make you in 3 hours to be able to drive a manual shift truck, he also explain you in every detail any questions that you may have about the pretrip. With this guy on your side it's really hard to fail at the driving test. read more

My experience at the school was great. Do you have top-notch teachers and people who really care about you? I would recommend this school to anybody that's trying to get their CDL. read more

I came back home (Chicago) 4 months ago after leaving in Los Angeles for over 14 years. I decided to become a CDL driver and I couldn't be better school than Viking Driving School. They are truly professional starting from a very supportive management who treated me really well to the very dedicated instructors. After graduating I found a job right away with Schneider National who have a really good program for CDL start up's. I totally highly recommend Viking Driving School if you are interested in getting your CDL. I'm immensely happy with the ending results. Thank you so much Viking Driving School staff!!! read more

Great school, I was lucky enough to earn my CDL at Viking on an Oakton College grant but, knowing what I do now, I would have paid full price to attend Vikings CDL class. The classroom instructors are very knowledgeable & helpful. I can't say enough about how awsome the driving instructors are, they go out of their way to do extra work on your weaknesses so you can easily pass the DMV examination. And, of course, there is Kasha... she does everything she can to make sure you are scheduled according to your needs, and you get all the driving time you require. read more

Outstanding staff, very helpful instructors, and real world experience. Viking Provided a full service package for the IL CDL written test and exam and got me ready to pass in no time on my first attempt. Great place to send your teens to learn how to drive the people there are about the nicest in the world. Including my driving instructor he's an old man about mid 60s or 50s has the greatest attitude and brings nothing but good vibes when I'm learning to drive with him, everyone in the building included all loving and caring people. prices are even better read more

I highly recommend Viking driving school, to anyone who is seriously looking to get their CDL license and start a career in trucking. Kasia is the best ever!!! She will definitely work with you in every way possible. Also, she has the best trainers, who will work hard with you to get you where you need to be. I cannot say enough great things about Viking driving school. read more

The only thing worse than the instruction is the communication and follow through. The classroom instruction was mostly the teacher talking and the kids texting. The driving instruction had no consistency between instructors. Paperwork misplaced, class time changes. Complete waste of my money. read more

For $70 an hour this school really sucks. My instructor, Bart, drifted off to Lala land during the lessons. He was completely quiet and, at times, I thought he was sleeping. The only time he ever said more than a sentence to me was when I almost landed on a hydrant when making a right turn. The driving education 'theory' classes are a complete joke. Kasia, the owner, will let the kids do whatever they please. The Maine South brats started to vandalize the classroom whenever she would leave. The secretary would then have to come into the room to tell them all to shut up. This whole place is a complete joke. After my bad experience I've decided to try out Pol-Sport. They provide driving lessons for $30 an hour!!! The instructors are truly amazing and always show up on time. I couldn't be more happier with them. read more

My sister just completed her Viking drivers Ed program here and we are more than happy with the results. She received professional instruction and learned more than we expected from this course. The pricing was fair, and in her opinion, her driving instructor Mr. W was patient and helpful in her learning. Overall, a great school. read more

Very good instructors. They're always there when you need them, and they're always there to help. I got my CDL real fast and a job immediately right after graduating. We sent our two daughters here unfortunately. Between the two of them, they have had six accidents in two years. They were never taught how to park, back out of a parking spot, or taken on the highway. Waste of money. Will definitely use the school driver's ed for rest of kids even if it is a wait to get in the class. read more

I signed my daughter up for driving lessons with Viking. I know that a lot of people use Viking since I see their cars out on the road quite often. There are not a lot of reviews that help you judge the quality of the driving schools. Therefore, I wanted to share my experience. She only went to one lesson. The teacher told the kids that he had dressed in a suit in order to impress the parents on the first day. He then told them that they would probably not be using their books the whole time. He wanted to connect to everyone on Instagram and he told them if they did not show up to all of the recommended classes, he would not tell anyone. One of our friends had sent their son to Viking. He said that he was happy that they did not keep track of missed classes since his son was not very good at attending class. I called Viking and was told that the teacher was very well liked by the students. She said that he just wanted to be friends with the kids and that's why he asked for their Instagram. I explained that he should not be communicating with his students outside of class through any social media. I told her that she was leaving herself open to a possible lawsuit. She didn't seem to understand where I was coming from. She was very unprofessional. I explained that they were in charge of educating these kids so that they could be good drivers. Why should parents have to pay Viking for this type of education. She didn't really have any good answers. I then asked for my money back. She asked me if she could change the instructor for my daughter. I said that I would rather have my money back if this was the type of instructor that they hired. She did return my money without a problem. I have heard that this instructor may no longer be there. We then went to Top Driver for our driving classes. We couldn't have been happier. They were much more professional and took their job of educating these kids seriously. I hope this helps others to make a good decision as to where to send there kids for drivers education. If you have to spend that amount of money to teach your kids how to drive, you want to know that they are getting the education they are paying for. Apparently anyone can open a drivers education business. There aren't too many standards. A lot of these companies do not care if they are producing good drivers. They just want to make the money. read more

Instructor pushed me to do things before I was comfortable, was taking calls on his cell phone, called me "scared" when I was just getting used to the new operations. Really, there MUST be better options in the area. read more

I finished my course in about 2 months and that's with working full time. They help work around your schedule. I would recommend Viking to anyone wanting to obtain their CDL. read more

I took a stick shift driving class through Viking driving school. The instructor Jacob, was very patient and took his time explaining the components of successful stick shift driving. Once he was done explaining how the clutch and gear box works we drove in a non intimidating residential area. Before I knew it I was driving on busy streets and felt pretty comfortable. I won't say that I'm a stick shift whiz after one class but I'm more comfortable than before the class. Like anything practice makes perfect. I would recommend this establishment to others. read more
