I took off another star because unbeknownst to me until after the party was over, one of the bartenders placed a tip jar at the bartending table and our family was paying tips with their own cash. We keep hearing from family and friends about the tip jar they contributed to us throughout our event. NOT cool. We feel so embarrassed that our guests felt the need to pull out their wallets. We had a strange but ultimately positive experience with Vik Staffing. We booked the event a couple of weeks in advance and Vikram reached out on Tuesday before our Saturday event to get the cocktail menu from us. He shared these with the bartender then. Then, on Saturday, when the bartender showed up, we had a very similar experience to a couple of other reviewers here - where our bartender shared that she did not know how to make drinks and was usually just serving them. She struggled to prepare the recipes we had printed out and didn't know how to use our mixing tins. She also smelled heavily of cigarette smoke. When we queried her about her lack of experience, she said she had been asked at last minute to cover the event and had driven up from San Jose. We phoned Vikram right away and he was audibly frustrated (rude even, to the server and my wife) but was able to come take over our bar for the evening. From then on, things were much better. Vikram himself is a solid bartender and was respectful, fun and made excellent drinks. Before booking, I had directly asked about the two negative reviews on the listing and he had mentioned these were written by an employee who was fired and her friend. I had given him the benefit of the doubt but it was unfortunate that we had exactly the same experience ourselves. I know it's hard to find qualified staff in this economy, especially around the holidays but the whole experience left us a little uneasy. I hired Vik Staffing for a fancy plated dinner party in Morgan Hill, CA about a week ago and they did not disappoint! To understand the level of support I got from Vik and his staff, I'd have to start from the beginning. I had to hire Vik Staffing last minute because the original vendor I hired (through an app) fell through at the last minute. I never heard back from them, so I had to find someone else who could staff my event last minute. Vik responded to my online inquiry RIGHT AWAY and we were able to finalize plans for the event that same day! I originally intended to hire 4-5 servers for a plated dinner for 100 guests but right away Vik told me I would need 7-8. My wheelhouse is in event planning and decor not food service, so I trusted Vik. A few days before the event, as clients do, they changed the headcount to 130 guests. Mind you this is a plated dinner with several courses. I reached out to Vik immediately panicking, and he said we would need more servers. I told him, I wouldn't be able to convince my client to add more servers. He reassured me that they would do the best they could with what we had and that we could just pay for overtime if need be. Like most events, I was thrown another curve ball! The rental company now required plates and utensils to be washed (original instructions were to just scrape the food off). This would require either more staff or longer hours. Vik took everything in stride and accommodated EVERYTHING that I requested. Vik assured me that his staff would pitch in anywhere help was required. Why? Because his first priority is to make sure that the client is HAPPY and SATISFIED! Now about the waitstaff...they arrived EARLY, they were very professional and worked their butts off...in the blazing sun, with a smile on their face. I was running around a lot so I put them in the care of our Chef and they were in sync! Feedback from the chef was that they were amazing to work with. The staff took direction very well and were very attentive to the guests, all with a pleasant demeanor. After the event was over, as predicted by Vik, we were nowhere close to done with cleanup. I gave Vik a heads up, and 3 of his waitstaff stayed behind to help finish up. Mind you, even though only 3 stayed on to help, I had a lot more volunteers that were willing to stay (past 10pm) to help out. I would LOVE to list all the staff that helped out but I don't remember names very well. I do remember the 3 that stayed super late to help clean up - Tyler, Yvette, and Kylie. Thank you! Needed help with an event, so I gave Vik's a try.. I was BLOWN away! As soon as the crew stepped into the place they were automatically engaged and ready to help. They were extremely organized, friendly, and professional as a team, and our guests were constantly served food and drink by the nice waiters. We hired Vik staffing for my wedding reception. We had three servers total. Gabriel was one of the servers that stood out the most and went above and beyond. Vik is lucky to have him in his team since Gabriel is a great asset. I do advise that Vik needs to email folks contracts and invoices with how much he is charging per server in an hourly rate. Day of the event we had a little misunderstanding, due to not not having my notes in front of me and lack of contract from our last conversation and was going to be overcharge $200. I did add additional hours two hours however a contract is much needed. I do thank Vik for accommodating me last minute to have his staff work my event for two more hours. read more

I don't write reviews often, but my experience with Vik Staffing was so egregious that I had to post a review. We hired Vik Staffing for an intimate party, and the bartender Vik Staffing sent was severely underqualified. Guests had to google and read instructions on how to make the most basic cocktails (Tom Collins). The bartender literally looked at the jigger and asked what it was. How can a bartender not know what a jigger is? Drinks were so poorly made that guests placed them about the venue to avoid drinking them. Hoping to find a drink the bartender could make, I asked what their favorite drink was and their response was, "I've never done this before." This response was shocking--why would Vik charge us $$$ for someone who can't make a basic cocktail? While I'm sure Vik Staffing has qualified and great bartenders, the bartender they sent over was the biggest dud. I strongly suggest you inquire about the bartenders Vik Staffing intends to send over for your event before proceeding with their services. read more
