If you like deep massage, Shiatsu, this is the best place in town. Jon and Cherie are a husband and wife team that are very courteous and take what they do seriously; making sure you leave happy. 90% of the time you can get in on a walk in basis, but there are only two of them so sometimes there is a wait so call ahead if you don't have time. Jon works on my neck arthritis and fibromyalgia which requires an extremely hard shiatsu to be effective. Very few people I have found can perform the consistently deep tissue. If you like massage you must try this place out. read more

We go and do the hour massage and it feels like heaven. They will work to get every knot out. My shoulders are always a work out. I'm usually sore the next but it's worth it. It's so relaxing from the music to the hot rocks. My advice is to take a hair brush because the scalp rub does leave your hair tussled. read more

I had a wonderful experience with the one hour foot massage. The person who did my massage was the taller woman . It was just perfect enough pressure to feel like knots out but it was not painful. Also, she did a lot of other body parts basically with the foot massage. read more

I been going here for years (on and off) but since the pandemic, I completely stopped going. However, I been feeling horrible pain on my shoulders and decided I needed a deep tissue chair massage. On a chair massage you do not remove your clothes. However, your skin shouldn't be burnt like this. I did feel it burning but I never thought it was this bad. I just mentioned to him that he was massaging a bit to hard, so he switch sides. I left and then I started feeling some weird painful burning sensation on my back after like 20 minutes. I touched my back when I was driving and it felt kinda moist. When I got home I asked my mother to look at my back and that's when she told me I had a burn mark on my back. I will not be going back to this place and I do not recommend any else going either. This business has been running for years, they are not new at this. They should know how to do a chair massage without having this issue. read more

Vigorous massage is a great deal and I've always had a good experience. My mom and I go together and get the combination massages. They are only $30 for 90 minutes and they work your feet and back really well. We love Sherry, the owner. You start out with your feet in a warm tub - super relaxing. I highly recommend as they are always accommodating. Walk-ins are welcomed as well as appointments. read more

My daughter and I enjoyed our massages. I called in and they said they could see me 30 minutes later. We waited across the street while we ate a small pizza at Boss Pizza. My daughter got a foot massage from the lady and I got a deep tissue massage from her husband. My only complaint was when he massaged my face he kept touching my lips with his hands and I could almost taste the lotion on his hands, gross! The massage was vigorous just as the name of the shop says. read more

BEWARE when paying via credit card, this place added more money onto my tip than I wrote. That being said the massage was mediocre at best, the lady was sniffling and hacking..but the worst part was this place altering the dollar amount on the tip, very dishonest. read more

Hmm what can I say..... I was STRADDLED! I was very uncomfortable after that. The massage started off nice and exactly what I wanted. What I didn't like off the bat was the ambiance: the music, the lighting and the room was just a bed and chair. I guess you get what you pay for. So after while into the massage the chick jumps on my back a straddles me! I was thinking "oh no I walked into one of those places!" Planning my escape the whole time I couldn't relax....then as she is massaging my thighs I can sense she is getting TOO close to my woman area so I tried to tighten myself up, thinking she can feel me being uneasy about it. I don't recommend this place unless you want to get molested. read more

Best place in town. Cheri and Jon always listen to what pain issues you are having and focus on them. Great pricing too.

I went here because I needed to wait downtown for an hour. I was very impressed with Cherie. She did a great job on the pressure points and the foot massage was great. I got right in and will definitely be back again soon. read more

I used to get my massages in Westminster (LA). I met the owners of Vigorous Massage at the shop where they worked in Westminster. From that moment on the only time I have had a massage from someone else is when I am traveling in SE Asia. When they decided to move to Bakersfield, obviously I decided to continue with John & Cherri as I knew I would never find anyone else that was as good. If you want a pain that feels so good, ask for John. Cherries is just a little gentler. This is deep tissue/reflexology massage. Enjoy yourself. You deserve it! read more
