Both Dr were great and caring and attention to detail. Also, important to me is that they were both good listeners. The great extra at this site for acupuncture is the massage after the treatment. Wow! I won't go anywhere else for acupuncture. read more

Aloe Vera This product didn't work for me. It was recommended from a friend. This location has so many herbs to choose from with no detailed information about side effects. Aloe Vera is good for older adults hearts! I tried to return product, one bottle unopened back for a refund. I was told they can't do a refund due to the open bottle has been used and the other unopened bottle has been compromised with the heat. Then I was told your friend has success with it see if she can buy it from you! Where has true customer service gone to? Customer service is lacking read more

Amazing care. I feel like a new woman! Definitely go if you are in pain. The staff is Amazing and the doctor really cares!

Zen Acupuncture & Herbs is a serene, welcoming space with a beautiful feng shui design, free green tea in the lobby, and a wall of herbs to explore. Dr. Joseph Zen is incredibly reassuring and clearly experienced. He helped relieve my stiff neck and post-surgery finger pain (which had been bothering me while playing guitar) and even resolved my difficulty standing up from a squat. I'm amazed at the results and highly recommend this place for anyone seeking real healing. read more

Went for my first time today and was a pleasant experience. I did the acupuncture and massage package. I will be going back

Second visit this year and again a positive, pleasant experience. The doctor (female) listened to my complaint, asked pertinent questions. The massage felt good and she definitely hit the tight spots. I will be going back. read more

Like many I was never led to try acupuncture by anyone, not even pt or docs even though I have had chronic pain for most of my life. Some due to surgeries and some from injuries. I have passed by this place for almost 5 months feeling God tugging on my heart to first take our daughter there. Yes God can work thru anything. Our daughter has a severe TBI & cannot walk, talk, eat by mouth or do anything the normal person does daily. She moves but has acquired atrophy in the past 8 years. We tried Xeomin for years which was referred by her therapist & neurologist. It worked some but no real change and very painful to get those shots every 3 months. Dr. Zen here was very honest with us saying "it has been 8 years and it might or might not work, we never know". We were good with that because if anyone was going to do the working thru it, it was our GOD and HE is still in the business of healing. He will do HIS part but we have to do ours as well. DAY 1, she was moving things like we have not seen her move before. We decided 10 visits, excluding GOOD FRIDAY. She will be on visit 6 Friday. Doc Zen can add to his page now, this will help atrophy & TBI injuries. So now it is my turn. I have had several surgeries on my back lower and upper so there is some past injury there. Had a shoulder impingement surgery 25 years ago leaving me with ongoing pain. I have tried the therapy, epidurals etc nothing has worked. My first visit, I left there literally praising God in my truck because I had NO PAIN. 10 days later, I still have no pain except in my lower right side which I will have them work on this Friday. I can't say enough about this Acupuncture. I have referred many people here since our daughters visit and now I have mine to be a testimony about. read more

Best massage I've ever had! They know what they are doing using trigger points. Would highly recommend

Excellent experience with both accupuncture and massage therapy. I was able to book appointments with the front office staff very easily. They were kind, polite, and willing to help find open times and dates that worked for my busy schedule. Dr. Zen was very knowledgable and compassionate in understanding my areas of pain. He provided thorough care during my treatments and would inquire as to how I was feeling, and where I was hurting on each visit. The massage therapist would vary, but the treatment would always be focused on my specific needs. The right amount of pressure and the pain areas were always worked on with overall concern for my well-being. read more

Does anyone know where Ava and Irma went? They are the best message therapists around.

Pros: takes insurance, dr. Zen personality, great masseuse, great front desk staff, great downtown location Cons: needles, busy after 5pm, closed Tuesday and weekends, turning into parking lot a bit tough I don't know anyone who likes needles so I want enthusiastic about trying out accupuncture. But I'm totally converted don't think of them as needles. They are so thin it's like a piece of hair. I've been going for about 6 years now. I even got needed all over my face for a sinus infection. I know super scary but seriously if I can take it anyone can. When it comes to needles I'm a total wimp. Pain medication can mask stress and the pain manifests. I came to Dr. Zen with sciatic pain and couldn't even stand up straight. I laid on my stomach and got tiny little needles with electric stimulation and a heat lamp. When my husband picked me up he expected to have to help me get dressed and stand up.  Instead still a bit rough I was able to walk out standing up straight of my own volition. I have even taken my 9 year old daughter to Dr Zen and she loved it. He answered her question put on a tiny bitty sticker needle. It helped quell her fear. If you have a medical problem before going under the knife or starting a bunch of medd consider something less invasive. read more

The best treatment. I have to go every week. Acupuncture helps me a lot and the therapist are all amazing.

Such a pleasant and honest doctor. I initially went in for serious back spasms and pain. I had tried many other techniques but my symptoms persisted. I was skeptical but one of my close friends referred me and I thought I'd give it a try. First of his bedside manner is just so refreshing. He listens carefully and gives you excellent service. I've been going back to him for years now. He is a genius and his prices are fair and totally reasonable. Most importantly he actually helped solve my back problems and I am grateful. read more

Update: 09/24/2020 I kept getting calls from a phone number not realizing it was this doctor, I finally had the time to answer today 09/24/2020. I'm really happy with my treatment by Dr. Zen. The office is clean, warm, friendly and smells amazing. I wasn't sure at first, about acupuncture in general - I did try another acupuncture office after my initial visit with Dr. Zen and can I say that it was a night and day difference? My insurance covers unlimited acupuncture visits and I intend to use all of those unlimited visits. I haven't gone in for a treatment in nearly 3 weeks and the pain and stress have returned, reassuring me that I am in fact, having great success with this treatment. I highly recommend this office - I would invite my family, my friends and coworkers as my level of confidence in this office is sky high. read more

Acupuncture & Herbs - I had my sinuses and hip flexor worked on. - Acupuncture Near Me - Bakersfield, California

I had a great experience and I felt completely comfortable with the distancing in the waiting lounge. This was my first time meeting Dr. Zen and he listened to what I had to say to asses my needs. The acupuncture points for my back were painless and after herbs were added to assist. The massage therapist pressure pointed my back and told me what she was doing before so I knew what what's going on every step of the way. Going back in for a follow up and a massage. read more
