I just started the acupuncture, but I am feeling like it is working, love this Dr and her staff..

I was suffering from a foot and ankle injury from November 2022. I was pretty much desperate for help since it was hard for me to get around with this foot pain and my HMO only prescribed anti-inflammatories. As a last resort, to be honest, I decided to try acupuncture. I found the listing for Kern Acupuncture and read the one review, and called to make an appointment. I tried to get in that same afternoon, that's how desperate I was, but they could accommodate me the next day. My first impression of the place is that it is very clean, neat, and organized. The front office staff is very friendly and professional. I had to fill out my medical history and first meet with the acupuncturist, known to me as "Dr. " Lee. The "Dr." is very professional and thorough. She interviewed me and followed up on my medical history, and listened to my explanation of my injury, and where I am was feeling pain. She also did iridology and pretty much nailed my ailments based on my eyes. I was very impressed! After our initial consultation, I received an acupuncture treatment. I wasn't sure what to expect other than what my friends had told me, but it is not painful. They were right..."Dr." Lee was very gentle. She inserted needles in key areas, and I immediately started to feel relief. Not only did my foot stop hurting... I felt other areas of my body beginning to let go of the tension. Over a period of a month and a half I saw the acupuncturist twice a week in the beginning and then switched to once a week. The results have been amazing because the pain in my foot has been subsiding and going away. Some days I don't have any pain at all. The last two times I received a treatment I was so relaxed, I actually fell asleep on the table. After the needles are taken out, I am hooked up to an electronic machine that helps my muscles contract and relax. I was not expecting these results when I went in, not only has my foot pain subsided, I feel that I am more flexible and can drop into a full squat, which I could not do when I first went in to see "Dr. " Lee. I really wish acupuncture was routine in our every day HMO care. I am a firm believer, and in fact, I have been targeting my frozen shoulder to continue encouraging it to heal. The best part about this is that my HSA covers the weekly expense for treatment. I feel so lucky this practice exists right here in Bakersfield! If you have been suffering from an ailment, and nothing has helped, I highly recommend that you pay "Dr." Lee a visit and give her an opportunity to work with you. Update: even though this place only had one review, and it was a good review, I chose it because of the license verification. The other places did not have that on their profile. read more

I've never done acupuncture before. I've heard from several of my friends that it really works. I called a few acupuncturists and decided to try Kern Acupuncture. The staff was really nice and welcoming. The doctor was very friendly and helpful. I explained how I had threw my back out. I told her I was in so much pain that I couldn't stand straight or sit down. She said it would take time but I would feel better afterwards. Let me just say that I'm a believer in acupuncture now! I was able to stand straight and bend down after I left my appointment! If you're on the fence about acupuncture give it try. It really works! read more

I've had a couple sessions here at Kern Acupuncture and my experience has been great so far. Dr. Lee is amazing and the front desk receptionist is so sweet and kind. I had acupuncture, cupping and even got the massage machine and I've been feeling so good and sleeping better. Looking forward to my next session. read more

Eun kyung Lee is a very nice, methodical and knowledgeable acupuncturist. The facility is very clean, quiet and peaceful. The procedures are efficient, always on time. The first time I walked into the Dr. Lee's new office, it was super clean, and the atmosphere made me very relaxed. I met Dr. Lee 2 years ago. After a car accident , I was pretty badly injured-my two arms ,shoulders and lower back had lots of pain. Luckily, I found a Korean acupuncturist in town. Otherwise, I was thinking of driving to LA to see an acupuncturist. Then 3 weeks ago, I hurt my left wrist, and recently I had stomach problems. I visited her new office and got acupuncture treatment. Also, after I got another treatment with her new machine. She is very detailed and knowledgeable. I try to make an appointment with an acupuncture but never received a call back for an appointment, so went on yelp and made an appointment. the business building is small but it is relaxing with different tea flavors for you to make and drink. The staff is friendly and willing to assist with paperwork. I explained my pain to my back and neck. Two sessions and the pain is gone. Three massages, advill, and heat therapy is what I did before going to Kern Acupuncture. I just left my 3rd session for my lower back now. They have many therapy options to choose from, given them a call it might help with those annoying pain. read more
