There are moments in life when everything seems to hit at once, and this was one of those moments…read more My washing machine decided to quit, laundry was piling up at an alarming rate, my daughter was sick, I was getting sick, I have a dog and a cat who somehow contribute to the laundry situation despite not wearing clothes, and I was leaving for a work trip in just a couple of days. It was the perfect storm. When I called Brenda, she answered, and honestly, all I could muster was, "Hi! I need help." Without missing a beat, she completely understood the assignment. From that first conversation, Brenda was incredibly kind, understanding, and reassuring. At a time when I felt overwhelmed and was staring down what felt like a mountain of laundry, she made the entire process effortless. And the results? Absolutely amazing. When my laundry came back, everything was spotless, fresh, neatly folded, and organized better than I probably would have done myself. Every item looked and felt great. There is something deeply comforting about opening bags of clean laundry when you've been stressed, sick, and running out of time, and Brenda delivered exactly that. Beyond the quality of her work, what stood out most was her generosity and genuine care. She went above and beyond to help when I really needed it, and that level of customer service is rare these days. Brenda didn't just do my laundry. She rescued me from a laundry-induced meltdown. If you're drowning in laundry, short on time, dealing with life's inevitable chaos, or just want someone you can trust to do an outstanding job, I cannot recommend Brenda Bubble Laundry Service enough. I've seen them take creative steps to keep and make the programs more interesting. All of that is great, impressive and you'll see that better described in their catalogue. What I've always loved about the program, that is harder to put in a catalogue, is that makes real space for the kids to be kids. It is structured for safety, but not so over-structured that kids aren't able to explore their own interests and, well, just play. The teachers are caring and committed, and they do an amazing job of meeting the kids on their own level, with respect. Appropriate leadership, appropriate protectiveness, without condescension. Over the years the director has encouraged staff to bring their own skills and interests to the kids to enrich the program, whether it was working in a garden that the program created, theater, yoga. The program has a lot of integrity. It is one of the greatest gifts Portland has given my children, no doubt. i can't recommend KCLC highly enough.
