The train station is 10 minutes away over a new glass & steel bridge. They are located at the junction of 2 canals. You get a heavy key that has a fob to unlock door and insert in slot above light switches in room to activate lights/power plug. Leave fob in place overnight. They offer a separate key (10 Euro refundable deposit) for the room safe inside closet. When you leave the room, you drop off the key/fob. My room was on the 1st floor (not ground floor). The windows have storm shutters. The floors are stone & marble in the bathroom. They have a mini-fridge with 3 complimentary bottles of water. Their is a elevator to serve all 6 floors. Breakfast is served 50 meters down at their sister location, Hotel Olympia.

If you don't want to do that there is a vaporetto station right next to the hotel so it's easy to use the public transport. Upon arrival our room was upgraded and we had a room facing the Grand Canal (room 118)! There was champagne and snacks waiting in the room for us There is a giant bath tub with jets and they provide robes and slippers for you to wear! The hotel staff are all so sweet. The location is good and, you can easily walk to the Rialto Bridge and St. Marks basilica/Doges palace. Their breakfast that is included has many options. They also have free snacks in the evening(5p-8p) if you get a drink at the hotel bar. I would highly recommend this place!!

Decor from late sixties/early seventies was present in the lobby with Murano glass items on display. I had to wait a few minutes to check in as there was one front desk clerk working. The check-in was easy and the service was friendly. The room had vintage decor. The room featured air conditioning, a refrigerator and a safe. The hotel is walking distance to the Rialto bridge with plenty of shops and restaurants on the way. St. Mark's is also in walking distance but good luck keeping the ladies out of the shops on the way as it could easily take hours with shop hopping involved. This hotel is also in proximity to shopping and restaurants in the opposite location. I was scolded for drinking beer in the hotel lobby that I had bought at grocery store down the street as there is a small bar in the hotel downstairs that is open at night. Breakfast was free but was a typical European breakfast that wasn't very exciting but coffee is served. Four stars!

From pre-arrival to when we departed, the level of focused service the staff here provides is exceptional. One of the best decisions I made from pre-arrival was taking the staff up on arranging transportation from VCE directly to their hotel private doc via ground/water taxi. After an 8 hour flight it was nice to not worry about that and well worth the $. We booked the Terrace Suite which is on the 3rd/top floor- no elevator so if you have trouble with stairs be aware. Our room was wonderful and spacious, and I loved their bathroom amenities! We had the included breakfast on our terrace each morning which was so nice. All the small touches, fresh beverages in room, facial mist and rose petals, etc were so nice. We also took advantage of the complimentary taxi/tour in Murano @ Berengo Studio. But if you're looking for one of the best small luxury hotels in the artsy district of Doursoduro (directly across the grand canal overlooking St Marks) then you cannot miss. The staff/concierge is top notch. The carefully curated decor is stunning-a lovely marriage of the more traditional ornate furnishings you might expect in Italy, combined with beautiful murano chandeliers and modern bathroom appointments. We stayed in the Sala Noir or the "Black Room". It is on the second floor behind the reception desk up the stairs. Gorgeous room... we didn't mind the lovely bathroom which is up another stair case but if you need it to be on the same floor as the sleeping quarters you might opt for a room with a different configuration. It is plenty spacious and has all the modern technology with light controls etc. We took a private water taxi to the hotel which can be arranged. Alternatively you can take the vaporetto public transportation and walk a short distance. When we arrived they had champagne and an assortment of nuts on a tray. The breakfast which is included is made to order each morning and can be enjoyed on the private fourth floor terrace for guests only, in your room, in the lounge... basically anywhere in the charming house. They arranged everything to our specifications and the concierge took great to arrange transport, meal reservations etc. After this stay, we wouldn't dream of booking another hotel in Venezia. It is the quintessential experience for travelers looking for luxury with an understated elegance in a convenient and local spot across from the tourism craziness.
