This is the place where you'll find some used treasures, but also new books and and some rare and collectible books. Whenever I visit a new bookstore, I gravitate to the children's section. This bookstore has lots of children's books, from picture books to graphic novels. I saw some ancient Nancy Drew novels, with original covers. I'm not a Nancy Drew head, but I can appreciate a vintage mystery collection when I see one. One of the best things about Fallen Leaf Books is that they leave (leaf?) you the eff alone. I don't remember if anyone greeted me or talked to me, and frankly, I don't care. All I need in a bookstore is books and cozy nooks and quietude, and that's what you'll find here.

Located in a strip mall along Central, I noticed this shop with a sign that says "Bookstore" over…read morethe entrance. As you enter, you notice long rows of paperback books, sorted by genre, that run the entire length of the main room. Towards the back, there is a room on the left that has some $2 hardbacks. On the right, is another small room that has some True Crime and Sci-Fi novels. Occasionally, you will find free standing racks where collections of a specific author have been gathered. The checkout counter is to your right of where you enter. There, you pay 1/2 price of the suggested price printed by the publishers. You can also bring in books you wish to part with for in-store credits. (I didn't ask about how much they give, but I assume it's less than half price.) Basically, just take your time browsing the racks. The place has a lot of books, most were in good condition, but definitely read before. I was able to find a lot of authors I that I follow, but the collections were incomplete. Even with all the space they look pretty busy whenever I pass by, but that's only been on weekends, so it may be quieter during the week. On a weekend afternoon, though, you will not find quiet here. They have all the standard drinks you expect at a coffee shop and lots of fun specials, but the food selection is a little limited. I think they normally serve soup Mon-Sat but they were out when I got there. I got a bagel with schmear, a zebra (chocolate crinkle) cookie, and one of the February specials called "Opposites Attract" which was a raspberry chai latte. Everything I got was pretty good, especially the fresh, chewy zebra cookie. They warmed it up which made it just a little gooey. The raspberry chai was an interesting combination. i wasn't completely sold on the raspberry - I didn't dislike it but probably wouldn't get it again - but I think I liked the chai itself. The baristas and bookstore staff were all welcoming, and the vibe is very inclusive. I've come in and looked around the store a few times, and the staff seems approachable if you need anything but will leave you alone if you're just browsing.

I had a receipt. She indicated that I needed to contact Lego to exchange the product or obtain a piece. I told her that was in conflict with what was listed on the company website. She proceeded to tell me I was incorrect and told me that I needed to pull up the company website and show her. I indicated to her that she should be versed in her job and that it was not my place to show her what the company website showed. I left the product on the counter and walked out. My 11 year-old is out a Lego set and I am out the money spent on the Lego set. Bad business Barnes & Noble's. Boo! Train your employees better. Have standard operating procedures on hand so customers do not leave disappointed and frustrated.
