I did also find some great fun cards for an event and little gems of items for presents. A definite fun spot to visit!

Located in a strip mall along Central, I noticed this shop with a sign that says "Bookstore" over…read morethe entrance. As you enter, you notice long rows of paperback books, sorted by genre, that run the entire length of the main room. Towards the back, there is a room on the left that has some $2 hardbacks. On the right, is another small room that has some True Crime and Sci-Fi novels. Occasionally, you will find free standing racks where collections of a specific author have been gathered. The checkout counter is to your right of where you enter. There, you pay 1/2 price of the suggested price printed by the publishers. You can also bring in books you wish to part with for in-store credits. (I didn't ask about how much they give, but I assume it's less than half price.) Basically, just take your time browsing the racks. The place has a lot of books, most were in good condition, but definitely read before. I was able to find a lot of authors I that I follow, but the collections were incomplete. If you like owning your novels but aren't worried about having mint condition books, then stop by and check out this store. Review #3502

Academic Scholarly Bookstore seemed like a very dishonest bookseller at the very best: after their…read moreprice gouging was caught, they removed Amazon customer review. Regarding their price gouging, this is what they had to say. Read their response below. Does it really take a million years to manually override a price "error" supposedly to have originated from the "automatic repricer"? When did the so-called automatic repricer ever become so widely used in pricing one of a kind set of used books? Did manually uploading a picture somehow triggered the automatic repricer? Why even bother to lie when such lies can be caught instantly? Could they ever do the very same thing to any of their walk-in bookshoppers: raising the penned in price by 150% on the spot they handle the book to the shopper/buyer/inquirer? Did they somehow fail to realize how offensive such price gouging really was 4 days AFTER receiving a customer complaint message? Update on 2/8/2023 Turns out the owner Joe decided to pull this book off Amazon and relisted it at $79.97 on eBay, which is $20 less than the jacked up price of $99.97 on Amazon. The book was sold on 1/31/2023. The smug employee denied her access with a smirk on his face the entire time, despite her obvious predicament as she clutched at herself. It turns out that the state statute that would have required them granting access has been repealed, but I am accustomed to Bloomington businesses conducting themselves ethically and extending consideration to vulnerable members of the community, so it caught me off-guard to see someone evidently delight in my child's discomfort. It was the fine banal tradition of someone just doing their job with no hint of compassion or sympathy. It's a true shame, because we've had such a fantastic experience with the owners in the past, which is another reason why this callous indifference by their employee caught us totally off guard. We barely made it across the street but would have had to cancel our outing had we not, and these are few and far between for us.
