Normally, this would be a five-star review, but I did have a slight issue prior to arrival. I've been a Marriott Bonvoy member for over 30 years, and when given a choice, I always try to stay at a Marriott. As a Lifetime Platinum Elite member, certain benefits are part of that loyalty. I had two reservations for this stay: the first portion was booked under my name, and the remaining nights (which together totaled seven nights) were accidentally booked under my husband's name and his Bonvoy number. In the past, I've never had an issue having reservations like this paired together. I even called Marriott in advance and was told not to worry, that the hotel would merge the reservations upon arrival and that my Platinum benefits would apply for the entire stay. The flight was delayed into Vienna, I contacted the hotel through my reservation to notify them. At the same time, I again requested that the two reservations be merged and asked whether my Platinum benefits would override my husband's so we could have lounge access for the duration of our stay. Ronja responded and clearly stated that this would not happen and that my Platinum benefits would not be honored for the second half of the stay. After going back and forth and realizing I wasn't getting anywhere, I decided to address it when we got to the hotel. When we arrived at 1:00 a.m., Michael was at the front desk, and he was absolutely wonderful. Friendly, professional, and incredibly accommodating. He resolved the situation immediately and without hesitation. Ronja's LinkedIn lists her title as "Hotel & Hospitality Specialist," but based on this interaction, additional training may be beneficial. As a lifelong Platinum Elite member, I certainly did not feel like a valued guest. Aside from that experience, the hotel itself was absolutely perfect. Our room was lovely, located on a high floor with a beautiful view overlooking the park. The hotel has so much to offer, and the Concierge Lounge was one of the best I've ever experienced. It was open daily from 6:30 a.m. until 11:00 p.m.--which is impressive in itself. Breakfast was served every morning with a great selection of both hot and cold options, and the coffee machine offered an excellent variety of choices. There was also a daily happy hour from 5:00 p.m. until closing, with beer, wine, and a consistent selection of food and snacks. The lounge staff truly went above and beyond to make guests feel comfortable and welcome. The views from the lounge were magnificent making it a nice place to relax after a long day. This is a beautiful hotel in a fantastic part of the city. It's within walking distance of major sights and excellent restaurants. If you're visiting Vienna, this is a wonderful place to stay. read more

Solid hotel with a solid breakfast buffet. We stayed here for 5 nights. The room was comfortable and the staff were friendly. Each morning, we had breakfast at the hotel which included hot items like scrambled eggs, bacon (which was different from American bacon), mushrooms, potatoes, roasted tomatoes, waffles, and pancakes. The buffet also had a fruit bar, deli section, breads, sweet pastries, yogurts, cereals, salad, and a made to order omelette station. Beverages included coffees, teas, juices, and even prosecco. The food was the same every day, but there was enough selection that we could switch it up throughout the week. Would stay here again in the future. read more

We did like the location as it was walking distance to Stephansplatz. The accommodation was great, however, when we dined at the restaurant for daily buffet breakfast on 2nd floor) upon reviewing the final bill on check out day, the restaurant ADDED unauthorized tips for 3 days!) I always make it a point to tip in cash so the servers can get them right away. I had to reach out to the hotel to correct this matter. This was disappointing to discover. Best Marriott location wise in Vienna o think- just inside the ring and walking distance to some great sights and shopping and eating areas, with a beautiful city park across the street to boot. The newly renovated M lounge for those with platinum and above is quite nice for drinks and snacks - and the little outdoor rooftop area is lovely in the evenings. This is as five star as it will get. From the moment you walk in you know that the establishment is first class. From the food to the rooms as well as the staff, all were very helpful and friendly The location is just a short walk from the City Center and bus/subway stations. My only complaint was the spa/pool area. They ask that you remain quiet in the area which I understand for the spa area but when there are little children playing in the pool, they are just being kids. Kids will naturally be somewhat loud and playful. They continually made announcements asking people to remain quiet. When designing this they should have separated the spa and pool area. Otherwise, it was a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend the Vienna Marriot to anyone. read more

We actually switched hotels from one that was not going to work for a few days - to this one (note: we don't usually do such a thing!). We were so relieved to find this hotel. It is a fabulous option for travelers, a bit on the higher end of the average price for a hotel in Vienna's inner stadt (city). We were bedraggled and jet lagged beyond belief, staying awake through basically two days of travel, but we felt very comfortable once we got here. We received complimentary glasses of sparkling wine. When we got to our hotel room, we were thrilled that it was spacious and comfortable. Interestingly, while most hotels here (including American owned ones) have separate duvets, this hotel keeps the American tradition of one large duvet per bed. The shower is luxurious and comfortable, with sufficient water pressure. Food wise, the cafe (of sorts) is wonderful, as is the American bar called Champions. The room service is OK - not good or bad. We thought the service was great overall, too, though they pointed out the wrong pharmacy that was open on a Sunday (few are), so we wasted a trip there. Still that is not enough to remove a star. This hotel is in an amazing location, right on the Ringstrasse, and a few blocks away from St. Stephen's Cathedral and numerous important sights! read more

Nice to stay at a hotel that cares about service. M Lounge was great on days I didn't feel like venturing out into the city. However you are also in a great location for access to restaurants and shopping as well as the Ubahn. The sports bar off the lobby is great for catching a soccer match. I would have given it five stars if the air conditioning had been working better. Many of the common areas were to warm to linger for long during this late May visit to Vienna. read more

I believe the saying is true, "People will travel anywhere for good food." My adventure to Vienna was all [modeling] business but, the love for international dining was in close runnings. Hence the name, modelsEAT. If I wasn't enjoying a meal within the city of Wien (Vienna,) I was enjoying a meal at the hotel whether it was delivered via room service or served at one of the hotels' restaurants. Well, most of my time was spent at the hotel because the client wanted us to get as much rest as possible in between model preparations and rehearsals for the show. Based upon my experience (and despite a few fruitflies in our room) I felt as if I was an A-List celebrity. Room service was amazing! The hotel staff was as professional and welcoming as they could possibly be (despite the minor language barrier.) The cleanliness of this hotel was magnificent. One evening, I witnessed a maintenance man sweeping the leaves off of the hotel's curbside. In addition to this beautiful hotel there's plenty of historic landmarks, restaurants, and shops. Nice bathroom amenities, such as q-tips, etc. They also delivered a lovely desert menagerie that included chocolate covered fruit, meringue cookies and various berries. Great stay! From the champagne (or water) greeting upon checking in to the very friendly and attentive staff. Definitely recommend this hotel if vacationing with family. The breakfast buffet is one of the best I have ever had. Healthy choices like oatmeal and yogurts to more savory choices like croissants, muffins and omelette/pancake bar. The lobby itself is beautiful with its natural light and high ceilings. The kids went swimming one day in the warm pool and we had free water bottles placed in our room everyday by the cleaning staff. Excellent in every way. The subway is nearby as well as the tram which is right in front of the hotel. Hotel room was clean and well-stocked. We stayed here 4 nights first week in September and I have to say we stay at Marriott properties all over the world, and this ranks as one of the better hotels we've stayed at in Europe. BA lost our luggage and traveling from LA we were totally exhausted with no clean clothes, toiletries, etc. The receptionist provided us with basic toiletries and the concierge took all the lost luggage information and said they would keep in contact with BA. Everyone was so helpful and friendly- I mean better service here than in the Beverly Hills Hotel we have experienced. Internet access in your room or in the lounge with printing privileges. The rooms were spacious and clean. Staff is fantastic. Service is top notch. centrally located in Vienna, no more than a 10 minute walk to the St. Stephan (Cathedral), it's also very close to an underground station and overground tram AND a close walk to Belvedere palace. Unfortunately last night middle eastern folks checked in and pretty much took over entire 5th floor and the slamming of doors at 10 pm as well as smelly candles just ruined the last night so they ended up moving us at midnight to 4th floor to get away from this non-sense. The gym is VERY small and hot as next to the pool- not so good but unless it is raining you can get your walking done for hours in Vienna. The best experience from this entire stay was the manager of restaurants- tall thing friendly guy with glasses- sadly I do not recall his name- he treated everyone amazingly, was so helpful and attentive, really cared as he owned this place himself- if I had a hospitality business I would hire him no questions asked. Thank you all the Marriott Staff for making this stay so enjoyable even though we were without our luggage for two days thanks to British Airways. read more

Fantastic stay! As a Platnium, the concierge level is really well stocked in the evening. The giant spread for breakfast is one of the best I have had at any Marriott in the world. The location is great for being able to walk to lots of locations. The staff was wonderful, beds are comfy and rooms are clean. I will definitely stay again. read more

I am not a high maintenance gal. I booked this hotel bc it's close to many attractions and I just wanted to have a nice time w my husband after going through a difficult time in my life (5 star hotel means hassle free stay for me). After traveling from US to Munich to Innsbruck to Salzburg to Vienna (all within two nights, three days) , all I wanted was to have a nice dinner and come back to take a hot shower and go to sleep early to continue my trip. After getting ripped off by the taxi driver, we were greeted by a kind front desk staff who offered us welcome drinks and answered all of our questions and more. We Had a decent dinner, toured a little around the hotel and came back to take a hot shower. While In the shower I noticed there was no shower gel. I pulled the bottle off of the wall mount and shook it around but there was not an ounce of shower gel left. I just took the hand soap to finish washing off somewhat. I called the front desk to get the shower gel replenished and a new bar soap so my husband didn't have to fumble around after coming back from sauna. The receptionist picked up and greeted in a somewhat of a nice? way at first but when I asked to get the shower gel bottle refilled and also for a new bar soap, there was a pause followed by "I'll tell the house keeping to get it to you, okay? I'm sorry, okay" and hung up. I also wanted some qtips and cottons that you'd normally get at any hotel (which this 5 star hotel did not have)?! And even before I had the chance to ask, the receptionist hung up! Now I'm 50 min into waiting for shower gel/hand soap... I'm so tired and wishing this hotel was better prepared... it's a five start hotel but acting like a 2 star. AC hotel at Innsbruck was much nicer than here. What's wrong w that? Well, a lot. Maybe look elsewhere to book a hotel if you're spending your precious time/money to enjoy your trip in Vienna. This place is NOT worth it. Listen to me and stay away. My husband and I are traveling around Central Europe and staying at Marriott Hotels in Budapest, Vienna and Prague. We spent 5 days in Vienna and stayed at 2 other hotels in the city center and on our last night we stayed at the Vienna Marriott. We feel that Marriott management is practicing ETHNIC PROFILING on ASIAN LOOKING travelers and assign them to cheap rooms on the lower floors that are older and tired. We had reserved a deluxe king bed room, but the room we were assigned was a mediocre room on the second floor (Room #240) next door to 2 rooms of mainland Chinese tourists. The bathroom is small and did not have shampoo. When I called housekeeping, a Chinese housekeeper arrived to deliver the product, coincidence? We were only spending 1 night at this hotel so we didn't think too much about these incidents until we arrived in Marriott Prague and we received the same treatment and assigned an even horrible room also on the 2nd floor. Both of these 2 hotel incidents made us realized that we were assigned rooms based on our ethnicity. My husband is American and I'm British with a common Asian last name. We look Asian and are probably associated with the mainland Chinese travelers who are notorious for tourists behaving badly and disruptive. We disaprove of their behavior ourselves. Still when we are checking in, the front desk saw our passports - American and UK. It is baffling and upsetting to us that Marriott management would group all "Asian" looking guests as mainland Chinese tourists. We've been a Marriott member for years, we travel extensively every year and have stayed at many Marriotts and luxury high end resorts around the world so we are familiar with the room types, amenities and quality of services. It is absolutely upsetting to be discriminated, profiled based on last name and look. It puts a bad taste in our mouth when we are treated with discrimination and leaves a bad impression on the hotel chain. Very well appointed Marriot given the age of the hotel. The spa is in the basement but doesn't really feel like it. The nice thing about this Marriot as compared to some or most of its US locations is that you don't feel like you are getting gauged at the hotel bar for drinks or coffee. The front desk has been exceptionally helpful. All of the desk staff as well as the concierge speak English well. No complaints. read more

This hotel is really centrally located in Vienna, no more than a 10 minute walk to the St. Stephan Dom (Cathedral), it's also very close to an underground station and overground tram AND a close walk to Belvedere palace. The rooms were spacious and clean, loved the real king sized bed which ensure that my partner and I both had a real good night sleep (perhaps the first in years :P) It also has an indoor pool too. Um...I was not impressed by our stay at the Marriott in Vienna. I will start with a list of things it has going for it and then what it is lacking. First, the location is pretty dang good. It is right in the city center and the biggest bus tour to see the city has a stop right outside the hotel. It is close to some good restaurants and a huge park so that is nice. The views from the rooms are good too. The lobby is large and nicely updated and the staff seemed to be very friendly. I found it strange that parking for hotel guests underneath the hotel itself cost close to $40 a day. Quite a hefty price tag if you ask me. Also, the bathtub/shower was so small an average sized human could hardly move. Also, the exercise room was about as old and outdated and small as you can possibly imagine. The single tv looked like it came straight out of the late 90's. For dang near $300 a night I would search from someplace else. Maybe stay a little farther away from the center or stay someone else. read more

Location- next to the nice park. 10 min' walk to all the famous shops and tourist attractions. CityBike is also across the street. Facility - big, clean, Concierge lounge food and drink selection- average Wine selection - good wine Service- good Atmosphere- nice Breakfast area- could be crowded. There was a bus loaded of Chinese tourists who came to check in and they are lack of manners. I couldn't get in and out of the elevator so I had to wait until it is clear. They cut in line in the breakfast lounge while i was ordering eggs. I am sure management knew but done nothing. It's clearly disturbing me and my stays at the Marriott. read more

The lobby is great. The room is just ok. For a 5 star hotel I expected more. The lobby and entrance is where it stops. The rooms and halls need updating. Still has wallpaper in halls. The room was clean and bed comfortable but a little drab. There was no robe or house slippers in the room. The good thing is it's centrally located and can walk everywhere. There is a charge of 10 euro for internet in your room otherwise it's free in the lobby. They have a scent wave in the lobby so it smells nice at least. read more

Beautiful hotel with helpful staff. Check in was fast and efficient, room was very comfortable with a large bathroom. Breakfast at the Parkring was always amazing with choice of eggs any style, delicious waffles. They made amazing black coffee and my favorite was Cafe latte con doppio espresso. Very convenient neighborhood where we walked to everything. Our visit was just after Christmas and the city and hotel were beautifully decorated. Vienna has plenty of good, central chain hotels mainly located on the ring - the Marriott is about average in all respects. It's close to the centre, there is a reasonable pool and sauna, service is good, food is okay-ish, decor is dull and corporate, but fine. My preferred chain hotel in this part of town is the newer Le Meridien - it costs about the same and is just that bit better in almost all respects. The Intercon is a bit nicer, too. read more

If you come here, do the executive upgrade. It's definitely worth it. With the Wifi access, open bar in the evening, breakfast in the morning, snacks throughout the day and all the fruit and drinks you can shamelessly horde in your hotel room, you get that 80 euros back in no time. read more

This is my second night at the hotel- we are staying a total of 3 nights- my family is using 2 rooms so we have double the headache. We had a series of issues yesterday that they tried to address but here we go again. To start, this hotel is under renovation which is not disclosed on the web site. The front desk claims it is on the website, but I just searched the mobile site and can't find any mention. What does that mean? Loud jack-hammering all throughout the day which you can hear in the public spaces as well- the lounge, breakfast buffet, etc. The bigger issue is the fact that the pool is closed. I chose this hotel because I am a silver elite member and the pool. If the pool had not been advertised I would have chosen a different hotel- period. They claim we can have access to the ritz Carlton pool across the street. First of all its across the street and about 3 blocks down the road. Secondly, it's February which means freezing cold temperatures and rain. So we can pack up our bathing suits and clothes and walk 3 blocks in the rain, wearing our coats, hats and umbrellas in order to get to a pool. Seriously? I don't appreciate being offered a bogus substitute. Next the movies in our room don't work- I complained last night/ they said that the renovation may have caused an issue. They came today to fix it but it's not working again tonight? Is this a huge deal? No, but I promised my kids that they could watch a movie in bed after dinner... Maybe they will learn some German after watching dubbed episodes of Nick at night... But here's where it gets bad- our rooms are across from the service closet and the noise from the service guys started at 7:30 am. Clanging bottles, full voice conversations, slamming doors, etc. loud noise in hotels from other guests can be a risk but you should not have to put up with loud noise from the staff before daytime hours. I walked out in my pajamas to ask the guys to stop - he looked at me and said he was almost done. What? So, I finally complain about all the issues and I'm offered access to the executive club lounge. Since a buffet breakfast was already included in our rooms this was of little utility by why not? The man at the front desk added the access to our room keys and we left the hotel for the day. We come back tonight and try to go into the lounge and the keys don't work. Then back to the front desk evening shift who claim that we are not supposed to have lounge access. I try to convince the desk lady that we were offered the access as an accommodation and she gives in, reluctantly changing the keys and was pretty nasty about it. I don't know what tomorrow will bring. Hoping for the best but I have to say this is the worst hotel experience I've had in a long time. I stay at Marriott owned hotels to ensure consistently good service but this is not it. Very disappointing. read more

This is my prefered hotel in Vienna. The rooms are in a real need to be updated and the wireless isn't great, but the of the hotel is decent and the lobby was recently renovated. There is also a pub type place, and a good gym by hotel standards. The executive lounge is good too, though said sometimes too crowded. read more

This is a review for the Thanksgiving Candelelight Dinner at the Parkring Restaurant. Food in general was pretty good and of high quality especially cause its a buffet. However, can't really call it a thanksgiving dinner,.... The turkey with stuffing and some trimmings was just one of the many food stations so it was just an add on to the normal buffet which I found really disappointing. The turkey was ok but a bit tasteless and slightly dry, the trimmings were ok but not special. Guess I'm also just really spoilt having had a proper homemade Thanksgiving Dinner in the US for the last 4 years ;). So, next year it'll be homemade again, definitely! I'd also rather spend the € 53 on other things ;) read more

Pretty nice hotel. Location is pretty central. The front desk staff was great. Thomas -- who helped me in the evenings ; he was very thoughtful and did a great job helping out with questions and requests. There are a bunch of late night restaurants. The hotel breakfast buffett on the 2nd floor (or is that 1st, since they start with 0) -- is quite good and worth doing. They have the usual breakfast items, but they had this honeycomb station -- and that was delicious. Would definitely stay again. read more

Stayed here for three days with our family. We paid extra for access to the M lounge which gave us breakfast (all in the lounge or two per day in the main restaurant). It also gave us unlimited snacks and cocktails from 5:30 - 10 pm. It was a nice space to relax and have a drink before heading out for dinner. Loved the L'Occitane toiletries in the bathroom. The front desk was helpful and professional. Located across from the park, it was a good location. The only thing I did not like about the room was the window in the bathroom. Don't get it. If you turn on the bathroom light at night, the whole room lights up. Whoever decided that was a smart decorating choice should be never be hired again. read more
