Pros: The hotel makes a strong first impression. The lobby, hallways, and rooms are modern, clean, and well maintained, and the property has a polished, upscale look. The gym area includes a sauna and relaxation room (Does have old equipment and limited space). The lounge is spacious and comfortable, with a good selection of beer, liquor, and Coca-Cola products. It is in a great location to many metro lines. Cons: The bed was unacceptable. We stayed in a one-bedroom suite, and the mattress was so hard it felt like sleeping on concrete. This was, without question, the worst bed we have ever experienced at a Hilton property. The hotel may claim it meets Hilton International standards, but if this mattress qualifies, those standards are extremely low. Despite being two Diamond members celebrating an anniversary and a birthday, there was zero recognition of our loyalty. No card, no note, no acknowledgment of any kind (They were made aware multiple times). This lack of basic personalization was disappointing. Breakfast was mediocre and nowhere near the quality offered at other Hilton properties. There was no made-to-order option, and if one existed, it was never mentioned. The lounge food was very poor and not something we would eat again. Communication was also lacking. The hotel only asked how our stay was at checkout, as we were walking out the door, rather than during the stay when issues could have been addressed. While mechanical issues in the room were eventually fixed, they should not have occurred in the first place. Overall: This hotel looks elegant, but the experience does not match the appearance. The service, comfort, and attention to loyal guests fall well short of expectations. A good-looking property means nothing when the bed is rock-hard and the guest experience is an afterthought. My four nights here were lovely. The front of the hotel had lights for the holidays and it felt very festive. Walking in, the lobby was decorated too. I thought it was lovely. Even without decorations, the Art Deco style is so sleek and sexy...right up my architectural alley. Front desk staff was outstanding. Very service oriented. My room was really comfortable and had a great desk for working, extremely comfortable bed and an outstanding shower. There was a coffee maker but I was staying on the exec floor so I went down to the executive lounge for coffee in the morning. The lounge itself was nice with lots of options for drinks and a decent variety of carbs and other foods in the morning. The gym was a little small but very clean. The location was pretty good, close to the Metro/U-Bahn. The Schottentor stop on the U2 line is right outside the hotel. There are lots of trams and buses nearby too. It was very easy to get to the airport from here taking the U-bahn a couple of stops to a train station with a direct connection to the airport. If you don't have giant bags, it's a very easy trip and much cheaper than a cab. Think 8 Euro vs 65 Euro. The on-site restaurant has good cocktails. Service is another matter but I'll cover that in a separate review. I'm a big Hilton Honors guy and this is one of my favorite Hiltons. read more

Not to be confused with the Hilton Vienna "Park", this is the "Plaza" location. This is a clean, modern, full-service property that was a great stay. The lobby is a bit art-deco in style which contrasts with the updated, modern and very comfortable rooms. While it is not the cheapest room in Vienna, nor is it the most expensive and you will get what you pay for. The 2 things I did like about the property were the simple but functional Executive Lounge (if you have access) where breakfast can be had away from the masses of the main bar/restaurant area AND the fully enclosed showers. Having a perk like an Exec Lounge is obvious. Complimenting an enclosed shower at a hotel is not. This compliment sounds a little crazy until you realize that about 70% of hotels in Europe that I have stayed in seem to have ridiculous partial shower barriers that are completely ineffective and result in you hosing down the entire bathroom with water. I'm giving praise where it's due. If you like a real shower that is well designed and doesn't leave you with standing water on your bathroom floor, this hotel is for you. I have to believe that this property must have hired a specific shower consultant from outside of Europe when they remodeled their rooms since almost no other hotels in Europe seem to be able to offer this. Given the Europeans inability to design a bathroom shower that does not flood, I am really amazed that they have such historic, complex and amazing architecture in their cities that has withstood the test of time! The location of this property is quite centrally convenient and deserves an honorable mention. There are nearby mass transit stops within steps of the entrance, a Hop on/Hop off bus stop about 3 blocks away at the beautiful Votive Church, and the hustle and bustle of the St. Stephan's Dom/Cathedral is about a 10 min walk from the front door. That puts you within easy reach of some major sightseeing areas of the city as well as some great restaurants, bars, shops, and people watching. I would definitely stay here again on a future visit simply because the comfort:convenience ratio is quite high. Why not 5 stars? To be fair, it simply doesn't offer all of the amenities that you might find at true 5 star properties around the globe. There are no ultralux touches such as doormen, valet parking, 24 hr room service, nightly turn down service, etc. So if I am being fair, it really cannot rank as highly as properties that show off those things to its guests. But what it does provide is a very clean and consistent Hilton experience with a nicely appointed room, a fully functional shower (did I mention how impressed I was by this?), and in a great location. That is more than what was needed to give me a good impression of Vienna and it is what will draw me back to this property again on my next visit. read more

We enjoyed our stayed very much!!! Perfect location for the Christmas Markets and museums. The staff were very attentive, warm, and welcoming. Our rooms was nice and we had a pretty decent view of the streets, while our friends enjoyed the slightly bigger room. As a Hilton Diamond member, we opted breakfast at the Execution Lounge in lieu of the restaurant. The lounge has fewer selections, but I thought it was perfect. Don't want to overfill on hotel food when there are tons of Christmas Markets nearby. They do offer breakfast at their bigger restaurant, so they might have more selections of items. The gym was decent and most impressive was their wellness area. Our friends went to the gym in the morning, while I spent my quiet time in the sauna and then steam room. That is a very nice perk to have at a hotel, especially after long walks in the Christmas cold. We would definitely come back here! read more

We very much enjoyed our stay at Hilton Vienna Plaza at the end of November 2024 for Vienna's Christmas markets. The location was convenient, there are tram stops right outside and the main subway/train stations were also within walking distance. We took the train from the airport and everything was very easy. As a Diamond member, we were able to have breakfasts at the lounge, which had a decent but smaller selection of food. Unsure if the main breakfast has more since we didn't try, but worth checking out the difference if you can. We booked early enough in advance so was able to score a King Plaza room at the standard number of points, but were able to select a corner room on the 9th floor (no upgrade to the "penthouse" 10th level unfortunately - we also didn't ask. The view was very nice, but you'll hear the tram announcements outside your windows depending on where they're facing. The good news there is that trams stop running at night so this was not an issue late at night. The gym was impressive with saunas (bio/steam room, rest area, showers). Pro tip: the hotel does let locals buy passes to the saunas, so things can get pretty crowded since they're technically only open during the evening for a few hours. However, as guests staying at the hotel, you can call the front desk and request for the saunas to be turned on whenever during the day - which really is the way to go to get everything practically to yourself. We'd stay here again whenever we're in Vienna next! read more

Nice looking hotel. Good service. Well located. Great until the last night of my stay, when the HVAC system went wild and the room heated up to near 90°F! It crashed repeatedly and eventually I gave up and opened the window in the middle of the night. Eventually got a few hours of sleep. Wasn't conducive to switching rooms at 3am. Just one of those things you expect a Hilton hotel to not allow to break. And for them to investigate and compensate a guest for losing a night of sleep due to a hotel system failure. Did they care? They didn't seem to. I told them on checkout. Their response: "other than that, how was your stay?" Them not taking this seriously at all makes me think it could easily happen again, and motivated me to leave a cautionary review. I will avoid this hotel in the future. 1*. read more

As a diamond member , you get a breakfast which is unusually good for a hilton...smoked salmon and real french yogurt (in the club lounge). Some of the largest rooms I've seen in a European hotel. This hotel is located by a train station and a ten minute walk into the city center. The location is also great for business travelers. Easily one of the largest rooms I've been in a European hotel and the property is well maintained. The breakfast buffet has a large selection and offers sparkling wine to guests. I loved staying at this hotel. Everything I could have wanted and then some, really. Check in was a breeze and the staff was exceptionally friendly. With my diamond status i was upgraded to a nicer room with a better view. Diamond status gets you access to the executive lounge that's open most of the day with a breakfast and a dinner. There is a buffet breakfast on the first floor that i really recommend. The selection is outstanding. It's until 10am. The rooms are spacious. The beds are comfy. I did think the mattress was a little stiff but overall not a big issue. The bathroom was clean and well-lit. They over a car service to the airport with a sedan being 52 euro which they'll set up for you. Anything you'll need, they'll set up for you. The hotel is pretty centrally located to many things in Vienna. I would definitely stay here again if i were to come back to Vienna, which I absolutely plan to. Love this place. read more

I had a stellar experience at Hilton Vienna Plaza. Nothing fell short. Hotel staff were all excellent. The hotel and its amenities were all perfect. As a Hilton Honors gold member (free gold status if you have the Amex platinum card without staying 40 nights), I was upgraded to a king plaza room (7th floor) from a regular king room a few days before I checked in. As part of the gold membership perks, I also got welcome drinks in the room and complimentary breakfast, which was really great. The front desk staff were professional yet friendly. When I checked in, my room was not ready. When I returned to the hotel, my room was ready and my luggage had been already brought to my room. As soon as I entered the room, the hotel called me to make sure everything is good. Although I didn't use any service from him, but the concierge was great. He was constantly working in the lobby, helping the guests, making restaurant reservations, etc. I don't know how much they charge, but I thought the breakfast was really great, way more than I had expected. The restaurant staff- Mika and Celine were so pleasant and knowledgeable about their menu. Shout out to Chefs Ahmed and Okan. Vienna is one of my least favorite places I've ever visited in all of Europe, so after booking a three night stay, we were so happy to have Executive Lounge benefits at the Hilton Vienna Plaza. We weren't alone -- we met so many great folks from all across the globe who felt the same way we did. We'd meet up in the lounge every evening for their complimentary cocktail hours and imbibe, nibble on the heavy snacks, and chat about our day with strangers who became temporary friends. I was surprised when I walked inside the Hilton. The decor feels like a 1920s Art Deco hotel from New York City. The black and white floors, ornate bronze elevator banks, and the teal velvet sofa in our room had to be inspired by that American design period. The hotel is a little old fashioned but the decor fits to keep it from feeling too dated. Our room was extremely comfortable and spacious. We were in a King room on the Executive floor. The bathroom was large, the furnishings were in excellent condition, and the bed wasn't as hard as they tend to be in most European hotels. The highlight of my stay here was the fantastic Executive Lounge. It's one of the best (if not THE best) Hilton lounge I've ever seen. There is plenty of comfortable seating, great evening appetizers, and a fabulous cocktail hour (including high quality prosecco, liquors, wine and beer). Breakfast has a large assortment of both hot and cold items, a spread that has something for everyone. Bottled mineral water, sodas, juices, and an espresso machine are available all day during opening hours. The hotel isn't in a particularly touristy nor pretty area of Vienna, making it a true business hotel. There are tons of offices and headquarters very close to the property. Since the hotel caters to business travelers, it's easy to grab a taxi from the doorman out front. Tourists can safely walk all over the city from the hotel as well. This hotel is a bit far from the train station and with rush hour traffic, allow at least 30 extra minutes to get to your train. We miscalculated and although we allowed nearly 20 minutes extra, we arrived at the station to literally watch as our train pulled out without us. read more

Great location, beautiful hotel however, service hmm well here we go: Location wise you are walking distance to everything. The tour bus route is few blocks down. Everything is conveniently located around this hotel. Great restaurant and cafes. Hotel- it's gorgeous inside. Deco takes your back couple of centuries with old phones, frames and antiques. Great show and tell for young ones who have no idea how phones worked in the olden days. Service- being a diamond member we were on the 9th floor executive floor. We were out of our rooms at 9am and returned at 5:30 our room still was not cleaned. We had access to executive lounge and the staff were not personable or no where to be seen. Foods are not labeled so if you have allergies you stand around and wait forever for a staff to show up or just not eat. Very disappointed about their service. So unlike Hilton to be not providing exceptional customer service. If you are in Vienna and want a convenient hotel this is your place. Just not expect amazing customer service if you are a Hilton honors member. Location is worth it for sure!!! read more

My 1st experience with Vienna, was a walk through the Old Town in mid evening when it was cold & rainy. Few people were about. Our next experience following day, was quite a contrast. It was sunny, warmer and the streets were filled with people. Our hotel was right next to the Police department, so we didn't have to worry too much about crime here. We were told by our local guide, that nobody that she knows own a gun here, the crime is low and is getting even lower. So much selection @ breakfast buffet and the food is good. I ordered the same meal twice, once for lunch and once for dinner (the night before). It was fixed exact way, (except for the flavored chips, about 4 of them weren't fried, you can't even bite through them). They have a 4.2 earthquake here 2 days ago, that our local tour guide said she felt, but inside out hotel we didn't feel shakes. Her apartment was located right behind our hotel, not very far from us! The rooms are comfortable & clean, but negative: the rooms are dark, the walls in the bathroom even darker, the shower was great, but it leaked badly to the floor! Sometimes, our keys doesn't work, for the elevator or opening our rooms. There was in room coffees, and the water heats up TOO FAST! Located in a very quiet part of town because it is in financial district, this is relatively close to the central part of Vienna (a 10 minute walk) but not within the pedestrian clogged shopping areas. The check-in staff, bellhops and management were all very nice. There is a problem however with their housekeeping staff. We were there three nights so the first day of course the room was clean when we arrived. The second morning we left and six hours later the room had not been cleaned. We called and they sent someone up. The next day we were gone for over seven hours and returned at nearly 4 PM and the room again had not been cleaned. We had to call a second time. To me this is totally acceptable. There was not a single housekeeping cart on the floor when we arrived. We did not leave our do not disturb sign on the door nor was there any other reason why they should not have cleaned our room other than either oversight or lack of efficiency. The breakfast buffet was €33 per person - quite overpriced. The à la cart items were a better option. Eggs Benedict for 8€. The air conditioning the room was OK. It did not cool the room as much as needed but luckily they had an oscillating table fan that they did bring to the room. Lighting set up in the room it was very strange. They were two separate switches by the door that controlled the lighting for the entire room except for the closets which had door switches. Those closet doors could've been left open constantly and the lights never went off. But you can also turn the lights off in the room by the beds and then if you did that you could not turn the lights on in the bathroom unless you went to the front hall light switch by the door and turned that back on. Way too complicated and not very safe when you're going to the bathroom in the middle of the night. read more

I'll start by saying that as a tourist, this was the wrong Hilton to pick in Vienna because it is a haul from the center of town. In the future I'd stay at the other one if making a choice. On a positive note, the rooms were excellent, updated and clean. The hotel feels chic (except maybe the hallways) with a marble lobby, chic bar, and nice lounge area. It is located on the ring road so it does have convenient connections to the Opera, Palace, and other Museums...it's just we prefer to walk. It was also not convenient to the train station. What was convenient, however, was the Avis/Budget counter where we picked up our rental car. The staff at the front desk wasn't up to the standard of other Hilton properties. Whatever time we went down, there was a wait....and only one common line whether you are Hilton Honors, checkin/out, or concierge. The concierge desk was across the lounge but I never saw it staffed. read more

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and had a great time. We booked using some of our credit card points, and had no issues with booking or check in. I emailed a bit before our trip to confirm, and they got back to me pretty quickly to confirm. When we checked in, we were surprised with a cute note and chocolates in our room. The hotel is beautiful, I loved the decor and our room was very nice. There was lots of closet space, the bathroom was nice and updated, and the cleaning staff always did a great job. The breakfast was included in our stay and was great. The staff was so nice, very helpful and professional. There was a large assortment of food, and we really enjoyed the food, it was really good for a free breakfast! It usually kept us full for a long time. There was also lots of tea options, coffee and juices. While this hotel isn't super close to some of the sights, the subway line is literally right outside the hotel, so we were usually where we wanted to be in the city in about 10 minutes. read more

To be honest, it's a chain so it's pretty mediocre and higher priced BUT at least had some level of quality in its amenities and its service is up to standard. Location is close to the subway, concierge is extremely helpful and the maintenance is very regular (cleaning more than twice a day). Rooms have A/C, safes, blow dryer, iron, mini-fridge (although, make sure to have it cleared out if you want to put your own food and drinks in it), separated commode, and a sitting area with couch. The communal exercise room and spa are nice-to-have luxuries at the end of a day of sightseeing. Unfortunately, the price did not include any kind of breakfast, which is surprising in Europe - I would at least expect a continental breakfast. Plus, the decor and technology is somewhat dated and a little off. For example, the TV looked like it was from the 1980s, and the generic paintings were all hanging really low, such as the one that grazed our headboard. read more

I booked this place expecting the usual excellent service and standards that Hilton properties are known for. This place is different. It begins with the front desk which is apparently mostly staffed by trainees unfamiliar with credit cards, booking processes and the loyalty program. The room was spacious, but dated. No modern amenities such as USB ports, espresso machine or high quality cosmetics were available. The light bulbs were very dim in the room and hallways, to save money I assume. With this dim light you can't read or work. So this place is a poor choice for business travellers. Other reviewers pointed out the limited access to public transportation. My partner and I just checked out this morning from this hotel. Our travel agent suggested and booked it for us. The location was fine. The room was good sized. The hotel is chic and nice to look at. The buffet breakfast was fine but nothing great which is normal. Never ate at the restaurant because of the below average reviews it has. My only complaint is about the cleanliness of the room. We stayed 3 nights and there was a half eaten piece of bread in the corner of the room the entire time. There was a brown spot on the floor of the shower for 2 days too that after my second shower I discovered was something nasty that came off when I scrubbed it with my foot. After I sort of scratched the nasty brown spot up a bit the cleaners then finished the job. And lastly the cleaners never vacuumed once while we were there so the carpet was kinda nasty. read more

In any case, this is a comfy hotel, located only 10 minutes to Museumsquartier or the channel. We were a bit dissapointed when they charged us for 2 full days of parkying (EUR52) when we only park for less than 24 hours! It would be great if they warn you in advance about this silly charges. The hotel is a nice location close to the heart of the city and pretty ok. The prices are higher for what the facility offers. The breakfast service was average and somewhat disorganised. The hotel is a bit dated and needs some updating. The room service menu is ok again nothing spectacular and the restaurant in house is also ok. Plenty of choices nearby for great food, atmosphere and some cool local bars around so if you dont mind stepping out then you will be fine. I would go back to this hotel for lower prices as it is convinient and at the edge of old vienna and a short walk into the heart of the city. read more

The Hilton Vienna Hotel provided an enjoyable week's stay. While it is seemingly a bit off the beaten track from popular areas near the Hofburg Palace, or the museum district, it is highly accessible. The hotel fronts the 19th-century boulevard--the Ring--lined with cultural institutions and significant monuments. Head due East to find oneself in the historic center, dominated by St. Stephen's Cathedral, and a host of Baroque churches, townhouses, and sculpture. The Hilton stands within two blocks of the Schottentor underground station, trams and busses. The hotel itself is comfortable, but understated decor-wise. The website describes the hotel's recent renovation as "art deco." Fair enough. It definitely leans towards a commercial, restrained version of the work of Austria's own Josef Hoffmann. It is also middle-of-the-road Hilton. Rooms, service, and amenities were solid and met expectations. One particular part of the experience stood out. That was the breakfast buffet and the wonderful afternoon snack / tea-time offering. Everything was well prepared, the variety great, and the accommodations clean, comfortable, and professional. It was very pleasurable to come back to the hotel in the late afternoon and grab a few things to eat and drink in the uncrowded lounge area adjacent to the dining space. One had to take care not to eat too much--there were sufficient hot and cold dishes to provide a complete meal. The experience was very relaxing, and made me wish that other hotels would take the hint from Hilton on this. I'd definitely recommend the Hilton Plaza Vienna to others, particularly professionals and vacationing singles or couples. read more

The staff has been exceptional, particularly Florian in the bar/restaurant, who could be making a fortune as a service consultant in San Francisco. Just came again for another 5 night stay with my husband. The concierge - Gabor - worked tirelessly for us before our arrival to score is some sold out tickets for the Berlin Philharmoniker at the Musikverein. This concert was the sole reason for the trip (I have always wanted to see Beethoven's 9th performed by a top European symphony). Needless to say, we got two seats and they were front and center. This place is really beautiful. The lobby is stunning and the rooms are very clean and updated. I did not love their restaurant as I felt it was too pricey. The breakfast spread is nice. As for the rooms, I was there during one of the heat waves in Europe. The air in my room worked very well for which I was grateful. My 4 stars has to do with the bathroom. I am a tub person and I was so excited to see the but. Upon my first bath I realized that the placement of the spout is a drag. It's in the middle. If you're in the tub and trying to fill it, you can't get away from the water coming out of the spout. The other issue was the shower. The door do not seal so when I showered I HOSED down that bathroom. My bathroom was flooded because of all of the water that came pouring out of the shower. While the hotel itself is nice enough, I strongly recommend that you stay away. Last night, I went to sleep with money in my wallet. I woke up to no money in my wallet. My wife's purse was also relieved of all cash. Someone with a hotel pass key entered the room while we slept and stole our money. I contacted the Austrian police and they are investigating. Tonight will be our third night here and my room was uncomfortably hot. Turns out that my room had a known issue with the AC. They promptly changed my room. the rooms are lovely as is the lobby. The hotel is situated right on the Ringstrasse and is close to all forms of transportation. read more

My stay four nights stay has been outstanding. Location is terrific; the hotel is up-to-date but with a touch of sophistication similar to a much more expensive boutique hotel. The staff (switchboard, reception desk, bar, executive lounge to housekeeping, etc.) been friendly, professional and attentive to detail. The executive lounge breakfast is very nice. The evening lounge open bar had a varied selection of only a few hot dishes in addition to several cold selections, pastries and sweets. It can serve as a dinner but appears more intended to be light snack before dining elsewhere. The food has been excellent and would not take much to add a couple options. An extended thank you Adrienne from the executive lounge AM staff who coordinated the small but very important business event I hosted which was comfortable and successful. She matched my needs perfectly. I will dine this evening in hotel restaurant but will definitely stop into the executive lounge before my meal. Highly recommended this hotel. read more
