I've seen and listened to the commercials for the big companies that copy old photos and videos, but this particular local company has been very, very good! They don't take months, actually days and sometimes just a day if it's simple and they aren't busy! Big plus, you talk directly to them and if necessary, get to see what's on the old videos and determine what they will be recording for you!! I've read the reviews for the Legacy company and I'm sure they are good, but there are many reviews that make it a concern as to cost, receiving original tapes back and the turnaround time. read more

Today was an emotional day I went to pick up boxes of photos which contained my life with Tom our life with Sarah and lots of photos of both our families, friends, past relationships Sarah's artwork and even old yearbooks. Tom took these photos in to have them digitalized 2 years ago but did not pick them up. I didn't know that he took all these things in to be digitalized until I got a phone call about a Month ago from the woman who copied everything to a thumb drive. I called her back to let her know that Tom had passed and would not be picking them up and wouldn't be paying her and I could not because I am broke. The woman said that she was sorry to hear about Tom and she would have to talk to her Lawyer and would get back to me. A few days later the woman called be back and asked me II could come pick the boxes of photos and I said yes. Because of the Holidays I didn't get a chance to pick them up until today when I got there I was very emotional but started tearing up when on top of the boxes was a picture of my father-in-law Jack which I told her he had just passed away 6 Months after Tom. She was very sweet and said again that she was sorry for our loss. I said thanks and started to take the boxes to the car and she stopped me gave me the thumb drive and said Merry Christmas! Sarah and I immediately started to cry then she started to cry we all hugged each other and we thank her for her kindness and she said all I want is for you just to give a good review on Yelp! Five star service for all your audio and video conversion needs! I've done business with Ken and Charlotte for a number of years, and have always been impressed with the excellent product and fair prices from this excellent local business. In the past, I've had many audio tapes converted to CD, and the service was quick, cheerful and flawless, at a fair price. During a recent attempt to de-clutter and organize my pack-rat home, I found two small 78-speed acetate-on-cellulose "Voice-O-Graph" records. The disks contain messages from my grandmother and my great grandfather, recorded during WWII and sent to my father, who was serving with the US Army in the Pacific at the time. I don't have a record player anymore, and I wasn't even sure that these 75-year-old recordings would still be audible, so I turned to Video to DVD. Charlotte cheerfully told me that she has the necessary equipment, and would do her best to transfer the audio from the disks to CD, and she did not disappoint! Just a few days later, I am listening to the voices of my grandma and my great-grandpa, telling my dad that they love him, are proud of him, and are praying for him to stay strong and come home safely. What a treasure! What's more, the price for this service was less than half of what I'd expected to pay. Woo-Hoo! I will be transferring a bunch of old home videos to DVD soon, and there's no question that I'll bring them to Video to DVD. What an amazing journey, after selecting Ken's company to archive and protect several generations of photos, albums, 8mm, VHS, memories, the process to find these gems around the house - stuffed everywhere was the first challenge, Then we needed to date and identify file names, eliminate duplicates and items not worth saving. We ended up taking three trips, each with multiple boxes and bins. We were lucky, most everything we brought was salvaged and meticulously scanned and archived on both DVD and a single USB Hard drive. I learned that many of these older tapes deteriorate over time. Procrastination is not your friend here. We received 5 star service and are very happy with the result. Over the past four years I've brought in several old VHS, miniDV, and Hi8 tapes for Ken and staff to convert to DVD. They are unfailingly professional and helpful and their services are reasonably priced. I like to archive these old tapes not only as DVDs but also as digital files that can be played in QuickTime and edited in iMovie or Final Cut Pro. Ken was kind enough to recommend a couple of software tools that were very helpful. Occasionally when I'm stuck on what setting to use and have exhausted my online research options, Ken and staff have helped with advice. This has little to do with converting video to DVD and, basically, it's not their job, and I've been careful not to abuse their kindness in this regard. But they have been a valuable technical resource for me over the years. This is what good customer service is all about. They're also ethical. They cut me slack on an old VHS tape that was so decrepit it clogged the heads on their equipment. They could have charged me extra for that, but didn't, and they finished the labor-intensive job. They charged me nothing for a blank tape I accidentally brought in, even though they had to spend time making sure it was really blank. To the few reviewers that have had negative comments about price: I doubt you've done much comparison shopping at this level of quality and service. I have many more old tapes and I'll be slowly converting them to DVD in the next few years. You can bet I'll be taking it all to these guys. read more

Ken did a great job converting my dad's 22 year old VHS and 8mm home movies to DVD and .MP4 format. They were the only copies of my 11 years deceased father I had, so it was important that I gave them to someone that I trusted. Not only with the care of the tapes, but to also get the most footage out of them that I could, all while still being a great value. Some places just push play and walk away, and Ken checked at 2, 4, and 6 hour intervals to make sure that I wasn't paying to convert old VCR recordings of Dynasty and Knott's Landing.
