Today a trek into Orangeville I found myself walking the streets poking my head into store after…read morestore just to see what this little town had to offer. More than anything what I continually came upon as we peeled back the un reviewed and soft shell of this town was a layer of character unseen in may other sections of the Greater Toronto Area. Entering into Readers choice was no different. Entering it the first words that came to mind was a literal avalanche. Used books. Piled as high and as far back as the eye can see. More books that you could conceivably read in 3 life times and all at significantly reduced prices compared to retail. Tens of thousands of used books. A wonderfully friendly staff member by the name of Joanne. And an ornate wooden cash desk truly endeared me to this little place. For future yelp explorers or customers, this spot offers a unique purchase and credit program whereby you can purchase a book and depending on it's age, condition and popularity can be sold back to the store at a few dollars off what you bought it for. Monies made on books sold back to the store are attained by way of in store credit - and ingenious business model to keep customers flowing in and out while retaining money in store. A great spot and worth checking out if you're looking for a good book.

The teacher did not provide any of the author's names. We found most of what we wanted at a fraction of the cost of new. Some of the books were adorably aged. We will definitely return at a later date. Amazing service, great shop.

It is great if you are looking for some popular old novels, like a whole series of Stephen King books, or Black Daggers Brotherhood. I bought a few paperback at $4 each. I plan to bypass hardcover novels from now on, so my collection has resale value.

It was piles and piles and shelves full of comics from marvel to mangas and also a lot of Funko Pop toys. They even have a Rugrats comic... if ya know, ya know (hello 90's kid). Apparently they don't have live inventory on their website but you can come in and ask for help. The staff/owner was really friendly and welcoming. They will be having a Black Friday sale so if you're looking to score a deal, be sure to check it out soon. Now the store could be a bit more organized... but with so many comics, I don't know how else they can improve it. They also have a lot of dust in some of their shelves but the comics are fine.

Aden has been around a very long time, surviving lots of changes in photography technology, trends, and economy. I used to buy medium format equipment from their Yonge Street store in the 80s. Although they carry point and shoot cameras, and entry-level DSLRs and mirrorless cameras, they also carry lots of high-end professional gear from all the major manufacturers, including Canon, Sony, Leica, Nikon, Fuji, Panasonic, and much more.
