We had such a relaxing and memorable stay here. My daughter and I truly loved it, and Shawnee and…read moreher staff were absolutely wonderful. Communication was excellent from start to finish, and the directions and check-in process were so easy and stress-free. For a newer property, it's clear how much care and heart is being put into creating something really special. Every single meal we ate was so yummy, and by the end of our trip the staff truly felt like family. Their warmth and kindness made the experience even more special and welcoming. I've honestly never felt safer at a hotel. Every night I would walk out to the beach and sit under the stars for hours and felt completely at ease. Being so remote and surrounded by nature, with absolutely no light pollution, the stars and moon were incredibly bright and breathtaking. Each night we fell asleep to the sound of the waves--it was pure peace. The atmosphere was calm, secluded, and exactly what we were looking for--the perfect place to truly unwind and reconnect. A couple helpful tips for future guests: be sure to book a large vehicle or reach out to the hotel to arrange transportation. The drive is quite an adventure--about an hour and a half on very bumpy, remote terrain--so having the right transportation makes all the difference. I also recommend stopping by a grocery store beforehand to grab essentials like toothpaste, snacks, bug spray, and a case of your favorite beer or a bottle of champagne, because there is truly nothing around. You are completely and wonderfully secluded. My only real complaint would be the mosquitoes--I got some serious bites, so definitely bring bug spray and spray yourself down. I'd also suggest bringing a shower cap and blow dryer to be extra comfortable. Overall, this was a beautiful, calming getaway, and we can't wait to return. I've already recommended it to several of my friends who are always searching for quiet, crowd-free escapes like this. Thank you again for such a lovely stay--we'll definitely be back!

Since my last review of VDF was in 2020, I thought it was time for me to do a quick update…read more In short, read my prior review, it still stands an an accurate representation of our experiences there. We have now stayed at Villa Del Faro 6 times prior to last week - 5 times in Dec or Jan and once in April. Every visit was a wonderful as our first. We have stayed in Casita Dos North, Casita Dos South, Casita Tres, and Azul. We have our favorite, but all are great. While we haven't stayed in the Stone Cottage on the beach, every time we have been there it was occupied and the people in it loved it - except for 1 person who was was scared of a gecko that was walking around in it while her partner loved it. This past week was our first visit in October. And not only was it my wife and I, but we brought the whole family - 11 people total in 5 rooms. There was 1 other person there in 1 of the other rooms on the property. As usual, the people at VDF were wonderful, gracious, and excellent hosts. One word of caution - it is still quite hot in Oct. They originally planned to open Oct 19 (as many places do in Baja), but they opened 4 days early to accommodate us. The rooms do not have AC, but they do have ceiling fans and put in additional fans for us in the rooms. So just be prepared if you come that early in the season. The meals were excellent and the accommodated several dietary issues such as 2 gluten free persons, 1 seafood allergy, and 1 person child who doesn't eat seafood. On our departure day, 9 of us had to leave early for flights (or driving people to flights) and they graciously made wonderful breakfast burritos for the drive. Speaking of the meals, this past January we decided to try a different place on the East Cape about 7 miles south of VDF. It was fine, but we found that we missed VDF and ended up driving there for dinner one night. During this trip we wanted to have a small birthday celebration while there and while 10 of us were off snorkeling in Cabo Pulmo, they worked with the 1 remaining person to set it up, hang the pinata's, set up dinner in a special area, etc. They even made 4 kinds of birthday cake (2 gluten free and 2 regular. As my first first stated, the roads are not for everyone - but they are passable. And the road in from the airport gets graded in mid Oct. So for this trip, since the road from the south along the coast had not been smoothed out yet since storm season, we took the route from SJD. It was pretty smooth for the first 2/3rds and quite interesting for the final 1/3. When we left on Sat, they had clearly progressed a little further. Since we normally come in Dec/Jan, our opinion is that the graded portions on this trip were the best and smoothest roads of all our trips, but the ungraded portions were some of the worst. And as my original review also stated: Paradise found ,,, hopefully not lost. There has been some development along this stretch of coast, but it is still pretty remote and as beautiful as when we first found it for ourselves.

A Hidden Gem on the East Cape - Pure Serenity…read more Our stay at La Valise Cabo was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in serenity -- the kind that instantly slows your pace and resets your perspective. The views are absolutely breathtaking, with the Sea of Cortez stretching endlessly before you. Every sunrise and sunset felt like a private showing. The accommodations were beautifully curated -- refined yet relaxed, luxurious yet perfectly in harmony with the natural surroundings. Every detail felt intentional and elevated. What truly set this experience apart was the attentive, personalized service. The team anticipated needs before we even voiced them, striking that perfect balance between presence and privacy. This stay was actually a surprise for my wife. She assumed we'd be spending all nine nights in Cabo as we usually do -- and she immediately grew suspicious when we turned left instead of right leaving the airport! Those first three nights at this hidden gem on the East Cape made the entire trip unforgettable. It's wonderfully off the beaten path -- peaceful, authentic, and deeply welcoming. We'll absolutely be returning on future trips. If you're looking for tranquility, extraordinary views, and thoughtful hospitality, this is the place.

Four Seasons - 25 meter lap pool is beautiful, and great temp for workouts

The resort has a very quiet, private feel to it, despite being nearly fully booked. We used plenty of the amenities with our group, including the gym, meeting areas, golf course, and dining options. Everything made for a great stay for our active group, but we had plenty of opportunities to relax on site. The spa is next level. Several from our group booked massages and said it was the best they've ever had. The rest of us just enjoyed the included spa area with sauna, steam room, cold plunge, hot tub, and pools. It was such a cool environment to unwind and socialize (private areas separated by gender). I have to give a special shoutout to Samantha, one of the staff members here. She was one of the first I met on site. From the beginning, she was friendly, attentive, and constantly looking for ways to make us more comfortable and improve our experience. A couple examples: we saw on the agenda that there was some pickleball play (with instruction) scheduled. When we showed up to the court, we couldn't find the instructor. Samantha was nearby, and quickly tracked down the right person to contact and had the instructor there very quickly! Another example was when I was looking to swim laps in their amazing lap pool. I wanted to track the workout, but wasn't sure about the exact length of the pool. I asked Samantha, and she wasn't sure, so she disappeared for a couple minutes before returning to confirm the official length (25 meters). These are small examples, but they indicate a higher level of service the Four Seasons upholds across the property and team. Thanks for the amazing stay, and we hope to be back again soon!

Every restaurant had a separate vegan menu and shall be provided if requested. Although options are limited but they do not disappoint when it comes flavors. Lunches at Casa de Brasa ... breakfast buffets at Milos were a constant. The poolside services were active. Not to mention the churros and crepes were a special addition to any itinerary and should not be missed. The fresh coconut water from the iconic blue bus at the beach is a must. Coming to the stay, we stayed once at the upper floor and once with a plunge pool. It was comfortable and the room service was pretty good. Definitely on the pricy end but definitely recommend the splurge for sone celebration and much needed break from the monotony of everyday hustle.
