We had such a relaxing and memorable stay here. My daughter and I truly loved it, and Shawnee and her staff were absolutely wonderful. Communication was excellent from start to finish, and the directions and check-in process were so easy and stress-free. For a newer property, it's clear how much care and heart is being put into creating something really special. Every single meal we ate was so yummy, and by the end of our trip the staff truly felt like family. Their warmth and kindness made the experience even more special and welcoming. I've honestly never felt safer at a hotel. Every night I would walk out to the beach and sit under the stars for hours and felt completely at ease. Being so remote and surrounded by nature, with absolutely no light pollution, the stars and moon were incredibly bright and breathtaking. Each night we fell asleep to the sound of the waves--it was pure peace. The atmosphere was calm, secluded, and exactly what we were looking for--the perfect place to truly unwind and reconnect. A couple helpful tips for future guests: be sure to book a large vehicle or reach out to the hotel to arrange transportation. The drive is quite an adventure--about an hour and a half on very bumpy, remote terrain--so having the right transportation makes all the difference. I also recommend stopping by a grocery store beforehand to grab essentials like toothpaste, snacks, bug spray, and a case of your favorite beer or a bottle of champagne, because there is truly nothing around. You are completely and wonderfully secluded. My only real complaint would be the mosquitoes--I got some serious bites, so definitely bring bug spray and spray yourself down. I'd also suggest bringing a shower cap and blow dryer to be extra comfortable. Overall, this was a beautiful, calming getaway, and we can't wait to return. I've already recommended it to several of my friends who are always searching for quiet, crowd-free escapes like this. Thank you again for such a lovely stay--we'll definitely be back! read more

This ended up being the diamond in the rough of our adventure heading to Cabo Pulmo National Park! We somehow did the GPS wrong and went the dirt roads the whole way from San Jose instead of going down the 1! BUT the beaches we stopped along the way and this restaurant was sooo worth it! The seafood dish I had was sooo good! I am going to try to copy at home!! The place is gorgeous and we want to stay there a couple of nights on our next trip to Cabo! We were in a little Rental car instead of a Jeep and it's a miracle we made it! Hubby asked for carne asada to be added to the shrimp nachos! It was all so good! My fresh caught sea bass of the day felt like I was at a Michelin star restaurant! The prices are really good too! All the staff was very attentive and friendly. Gave us some pointers for the rest of our drive and let me Walk around and take some pics of the hotel. Gorgeous gorgeous secluded area!! read more

Stayed 2 days. Staff was super nice and even upgraded our room. The place is really clean and has killer views. The restaurant food is tasty, but a bit expensive. The pool area was really nice and had boche ball which we enjoyed. It was a little cold (pool not heated) during our visit but I imagine in the summer the pool is packed. Overall great experience, but if you plan to visit I recommend a 4x4 as the roads were kinda gnarly in our regular car read more

We went at lunch on a Monday. Nobody was there and we didnt know what to expect but the food was great and the staff was friendly. Stop here if you are out that way. We had shrimp tacos and fish ceviche. It was very good and very fresh. read more

We want to discover more of Cabo and we found this hotel. We love the exterior and the interior of it. It has a very nice pool and private beach access! Although some roads are dirt roads we still made it in our little car! They have great views of the sea, as well as a wide beach! The pool area is pretty cool! The hotel has a beautiful sunrise and the sky is so pretty for sunset. The hotel is a modern Italian interpretation of a villa in front of the sea so the details are amazing! Inside the rooms, they are decorated with artwork from local artist to support the community which I love! The staff are super friendly and they know the area well! This place is great for relaxing with no other sounds from traffic or too many people in the surrounding areas so it feels very private which is enjoyable. read more

We had such a wonderful time at Vidasoul this past weekend. My girlfriends and I came per a recommendation from a friend who visited and absolutely loved it, saying it has a wonderful secluded side of the beach. She was right - my friends and I are not about that party resort life and are on team chill and Vidasoul was perfect for us. However, the waves looked a bit choppy so we mostly stayed on the shore. They cleaned the pool when we got there and I had no idea how amazing it was until finally getting in it. It was so naturally warm and my friend and I parked ourselves there all day drinking pina coladas! I cannot say enough about the staff. It was like they were there to make our every need come to life and they were so nice. We were swimming in the pool in the dark when they came and brought us more dry towels and asked us if we wanted anything else. We had booked the two largest rooms in the hotel that face the water and one of them had a broken AC. They did everything they could to fix it and in the meantime gave us two additional rooms so no one had to stay in there in the heat (ultimately, we had four rooms going for the one day/night it took to fit it). The only thing is it is so secluded that if you do want to do anything, you're kind of stuck there. It's a good hour away from anything else and the road is rough so you don't want to drive it in the dark (also, get an SUV, a sedan will get stuck in the sand). We did want to go dancing one night and weren't able to. They had entertainment but it was an awful Mexican band doing American classic covers. Also, food was not very good (but service of the food was amazing) read more

This hotel is out on a beautiful beach away from the tourist area. The ride out is about and hour from San Jose airport on a dirt road. The food here is great! The hotel is modern Very relaxing and peaceful read more

Be very careful with them! They copy bank card data and steal money. My friend and I stopped there for lunch. The food was nice, the service was nice, we liked it. I paid with my card and we left. Two days later they charged me again, 33 dollars (our lunch cost less, so it's not some sort of system error). It seems that the data of my card was copied. I do have a limit set for the card just in case, because so often in Mexico sellers will take cards in their hands, so luckily they could not get more than 40 bucks. Their phone number doesn't work (buzon de voz), I had to block my card and now in trouble to get a new one as my card is a foreign one and my bank said that they'll do their best to return me my money but it is complicated with international charges. read more

We had a wonderful weekend away with friends at Vidasoul. We took over the entire hotel for the weekend, and couldn't have been happier. None of us wanted to leave and wished the trip was longer. The staff was lovely, very helpful and accommodating. The rooms were very nice, comfortable beds and spacious rooms. Looking forward to our next trip there and would recommend for a relaxing romantic getaway. read more

This place was beautiful and relaxing. Our group of 27 rented every room at this hotel and the hotel staff catered to our needs intuitively and made sure we all enjoyed ourselves 24/7. Not a care in the world while laying by the pool or swimming in a the ocean only steps from our room. read more

Lorelee's review below is pretty accurate. The place is pretty and the consistent nearby construction is sorta an eye sore. The food was PHENOMENAL for us and the staff were always there to help and take great care of us...really...amazingly friendly staff. It was very clean as well but.... That said, we heard it is pretty windy much of the time here (it was for our entire stay) and the beach, though beautiful, is not swimmer-friendly. If you are a surfer, it is in striking distance to great breaks. We did notice the smell Lorelee mentioned and stayed away from their pool since it was the strongest there. We rented a car so we took advantage of driving to Cabo Pulmo and Playa Los Arbolitos all about 30mins north of this location. Again, staff was amazing but if you stay here, you need to know what you're in for...we did and still had a great time but luckily had a car so we could access other adventures. If you do come through this area, I'd definitely recommend stopping here for a meal and their fresh desserts, salsa or full dinner. read more

Stopped there at random on the way back from the beach. Great food. The Chef is definitely talented. The restaurant/bar is really cool. The modern architecture of the place is neat. The beach is beautiful. read more

We had an wonderful week at the confortable, off the grid, contemporary hotel. Not a 4 Seasons, but cool nonetheless (modern rooms, fantastic beds and bedding,) and a friendly staff that knows how to make you feel at home. Doesn't hurt that is on a still pristine stretch of beach either. read more

I will first off start with the positives. The view and location is stunning. The hotel has a unique build. Now here we go...None of the staff wore masks, and the room had probably 200 if not more June bugs (we completely understand that during this season there are a lot but at LEAST check the room before leading guests there!) We had to ask for the maid to sweep out the room (she was very kind and lovely). I've never in my life of traveling seen such an infestation of bugs in a room at a hotel and was beyond appalled. We decided to go down to the pool and were even more disappointed. There was a hurricane here last week but there was still rubbish and garbage in the sand and the pool lounge chair were DISGUSTING. As if they had been in someone's backyard for ten years. We decided to get some food and to our dismay saw that the menu had nothing under 450 pesos. We both walked into the kitchen which was repulsive. No staff had masks on and we were not going to be paying that much money for food cooked in a dirty kitchen. We politely told the owner why we were leaving and were grossed out. We are hoping it was an off week but I will NOT be back or recommend it. read more

Only ate at the restaurant, and was terribly disappointed. Mediocre food at exorbitant prices with nothing but one salsa fresca to put on tacos, no vegetables or anything. The tacos were all good (pescado a la plancha, pescado capeado, camaron) but really nothing special and way overpriced. read more

The photos hide a myriad of problems. First the hotel is not clean. It appears the staff lives here, and the bar, office, and guest forward areas are cluttered and dirty. Not a good first impression when we arrived and no one greeted us. A ripped paper sign says the bartender will greet you should office be empty, but no one was in the at area either. Dirty cutting boards with flies, sticky bar top, and lots of personal items greeted us, but no staff. The room had dirty glassware, smudged windows, mirrors, and walls. The safe was in need of batteries. The door was not locked, and we were given the wrong key. Bed linens did have small stains, and mattress / pad is stained. TV screen image is damaged. No coffee maker. No bed side lamps. Toilets are paper less so come prepared for that. Blinds are getting damaged because they are incorrect mounting and operation for the entry doors. The furniture in the room is metal and corroding / rusty. The staff is nice, but not hospitality trained to professionally run a hotel. Prices compared moderate for a all inclusive option. Excuses abound on trip advisor on why staff is having a hard time operating. As a guest, this is inconsequential, as I am guest, and expect 1. Clean 2. Service 3. Amenities available to be free from damage. I am a happy person to stay off the grid and with limited amenities. I will not accept poorly maintained facilities. This one is being run into the ground. The amount of time staff is on cell phones could be better served cleaning and making fresh coffee. A rag, bleach, and window cleaner isn't a expensive fix. Depersonalize all guest areas is not expensive fix. Take out the garbage and recycling. They could take cues from: anthony melchiorri. The view is phenomenal. The artwork is phenomenal. The building is phenomenal. Wish my expectations for service were met. read more

Summary: Vidasoul is a ridiculous deal and I will absolutely be back. Like in a month. It's a true gem. I loved my 8 day stay there. Great for couples, adults, and kids that love the outdoors. It is a great place for people who enjoy the outdoors but also enjoy luxuries. I dont like leaving my temperpedic when I travel so I was pretty thrilled when I saw they carried them. And as a surfer the place gives you easy access to everywhere in the east cape. It lies 40 minutes east of San Jose Del Cabo and is mostly an empty open newly paved road. People may complain about the drive to and from Vidasoul but that is where I get the best pictures and see the most wildife. If you visit Cabo and don't head to the east cape you are missing out on some of the most beautiful beaches in Mexico, and you can have it to yourself. And I much prefer the empty dirt road to the city traffic. I never once felt unsafe. I got my jeep stuck in the sand on an isolated beach and was stranded. It was an absolutely gorgeous white sand beach just up the road from Vidasoul so it wasn't that bad a of a place to get stranded lol. After walking on the road the first local family that passed me in a car also helped pull the jeep to safety which was no small task. I will forever be grateful to them for their help and kindness. We couldnt communicate with speach but that was no problem at all. I also met many other surfers who were camping on different beaches. Some leaving their expensive and surfboards and belongings out unattended for hours at a time. The Food and staff were incredible. Juan, Antonio, Flacco, Ramone, Diego, and the rest of the staff were extremely friendly and professional and I never once got tired of the menu after my 8 day stay. I do love baja cuisine though and they have the best. One night me and another couple from San Clemente whom I had met were having dinner and we asked Ramone to just cook us up special plates. Each one was different and everyone loved their order. We all agreed a meal in Califonia would have been at least 2 to 3 times the price and with ingredients not as fresh. Everyone working there went out of their way to make you feel comfortable. The hotel itself is impressive, Mexico has some of the best masonry around. It is very modern and I loved the overhead showerheads and rooms. Your money goes way farther here than any hotel in Cabo in my opinion. Hot water and air conditioning and the hotel is a green hotel completely off the grid which is something I have a lot of respect for. It was nice to be able to watch netflix after a long day at the beach. I dont think it will be at these prices for much longer as the East Cape is growing faster than ever, white sand beaches, turquiose bath water, and less than 3 hours from LA. If you are heading to Cabo San Lucas, you would be doing yourself a disservice by not spending a night or 2 here (if the price is in your range) and at least and seeing the east cape. It is also worth driving from Cabo for just a meal, the are is really that beautitul. And for those that complain about visible abandoned structures, Latin and South America and most of the world probably aren't the right places for you to visit. read more

Stayed here at the beginning of April for a weekend with many friends and was only slightly impressed with the resort. Although the pool was not heated (we visited on a cooler, windy weekend so we couldn't enjoy the pool), sewage was next to us so you could smell it through every room and part of the resort one day, water wasn't working for one morning, shower is open (no shower door to use, just a drain in the middle of the floor) and flooded our bathroom area, and the location seemed to be far from any restaurant, store, or bar, the resort was ideal. It's right off of her beach so you can easily walk down and enjoy the water. Also, they have a game of horseshoes set up in the sand that you can play. The kitchen staff was great! We really enjoyed (trying) to talk to them using our broken Spanish. Luis was really helpful and made us feel the most comfortable there. I had lost my voice from a cold and he kept my glass full of this Mexican concoction to soothe my throat. The cooks also doubled as our shuttle drivers and played tour guides for us around Cabo San Lucas. Tips for staying here: - drop by their "Costco" before arriving to the resort to stock up on water, alcohol and food as the restaurant is pretty expensive and adds up fast! - shuttle service is expensive so make yourself comfortable at the resort instead of going back and forth into town (1 hr + drive). Thank God we packed Catch Phrase. We had so much fun playing that! read more

Great hotel, great food, great customer service, great design! My friend and I took our sons on their first surf trip at the end of May and were pleasantly surprised. We did not want the commotion or busyness of Cabo or San Jose but wanted to be by the surf so we stayed at Vida Soul. We left Saturday morning from San Diego and were in the water by 1 in the afternoon. There isn't another hotel-store-restaurant for at least 45 minutes north or south of here, so nice coming from SoCal. The food was really good. The manager Javier, the server Pancho, and the rest of the staff took great care of us and made us feel very welcome. Surf uncrowded waves all day and relax by the pool overlooking the ocean in the afternoon. Live reggae music on Saturday. Enough said. We will be coming back for more. Thanks VidaSoul! read more

Reserved a double queen room and found it to be well laid out and impeccably clean. Beds were really comfortable with soft cotton sheets and a duvet covered comforter. Nice. Ac was fantastic. Had kayaks surf boards and paddle boards. Showing some disrepair. But I highly recommend it. A gem on Cortez and close to Cabo pulmo and arbolitos marine park. Great coral reef there. read more

Vidasoul is an amazing place! Our week long stay was perfect. The quiet and peacefulness of this area of Cabo is something that I would like to keep a secret but others should know. The hotel is unique and has a very personal touch. Our hosts Juan and Romeo treated us like family. The food at the Crossroads restaurant was fresh and consistently wonderful. We visited in February and were treated to gray whales and no crowds. We will definitely be back! read more

Wasn't sure exactly where we were going so was a little alarmed at first but the location and staff are amazing! Best to rent a SUV or Jeep to help with the dirt roads and prepay a meal or two since as stated in other reviews it is a ways away from "town". The restaurant cooks, however, are fabulous and had better meals here than in Cabo! Everything is freshly cooked and worth the wait for the cook time. They view is spectacular and you might see a horse or burro saunter up for a drink at the pool. The rooms are very modern with creative art work. Snorkeling is in Cabo Pulmo to the north where there are coral reefs and a sea lion colony. Flora Farms organic farm and restaurant is to the south and a day trip to Cabo San Lucas or Todo Santos is a couple of hours away. Plan to go early for day trips so you can be back before dark! We were here in winter so got dark earlier, would imagine summertime is later but still want to be on the dirt road by sundown. It's the perfect place to be "off the grid" (there is wifi) and only having the few rooms you really get that break from it all feeling. They do have live music events and it's fascinating to see who's going to stop in when driving by or staying close by. VidaSoul is good for the soul! read more
