I've had my own hair cut by him, but most memorable for me was the time my mother went to him for a haircut: Right after her appointment, she showed up on my doorstep excited to show off her new look. She was absolutely thrilled by how much better she looked than before. And she truly did look worlds better. Rich was able to look at her and say, "These pieces here aren't doing anything for you," and cut her hair in a way that was very flattering to her features. Rich has an artistry that many hairstylists lack, and I suspect is impossible to teach. Either you've got it, or you don't. However, you have to pay for high quality; he's not cheap for this area. Last time I checked he was at about $40 for a cut.

They also arranged for us to have wine upon arrival. First off, no wine. When they texted us to see if we were enjoying the wine, I was like what wine? Then my sister's color turned out an almost blondish ashy brown with tons of grey showing. My Carmel highlights were only on one side and in very random spots. Back of my head a huge blondish spot. We were in shock from the whole surprise and didn't want to complain in front of my children so I called later. They set up on appt to fix that week but I had an emergency abscess that day and my sister had to work so I arranged a different day. Later that day they called and said we would have to Pay because it was after our 3 week time for touch ups, which was no way true it was only 2 weeks!! So our children wasted over $200 and I had to pay 90 with tip to get mine fixed. I went to a walk in place and the girl was just staring at it saying she had no clue what they did. "No rhyme or reason to it" were her exact words. I would never ever set foot back in there. They were rude and nasty about the whole mess but I feel bad for our children who really got ripped off.

Returning to the area I was in search of a salon. I saw a girl with a haircut I loved and asked who did it. Rochelle, owner of Classic Cuts, has been cutting my hair ever since. That was 44 years ago! She always asks and LISTENS to my thoughts for the next cut and I come away with a great cut a little different from the last one - not the same "cookie cutter" style which, after 44 years is why I love her. Women often stop me in the street to compliment my hair and ask where I get it cut. After reading that 1st 1 star review I had to set the record straight!!!

I remember one day i when to the Barnes&noble nearby and afterwards decided to go checkout the salon cause it was the closer one to the dorm. When I walked in the two women were not paying attention just talking to one another in the salon chairs. I approach the counter and greeted with a hello, then they just came up to me with a response of "What do want?" with a tone that just felt as if i did not belong. Not even a smile or a smirk at least given. I proceeded to my question which was "would it be possible to have some highlights in my hair?" One of the woman responded with "No, it is impossible. You have black hair and it thicker than most people. We can try but you'll get orange hair and we won't be responsible if your hair falls out." To which i respond (in a polite tone), "Alright, glad to know. Thank you very much." As I was about to leave, they just said "yeah," as if they were reluctant to even accept my thanks. I don't want to play the race card but I am Asian and there aren't many Asians in that area so they didn't felt the need to provide service to an outsider such as myself. A week later, i was able to order a hair dye online from a hairstyle website, and was able to get the highlights i wanted in one shot, which I was nervous because i had never done it before, but turned out great.
