Horrible horrible experience. I was really excited to try this place out. I went online, and they…read morehad a special listed on their site that said you could get your hair cut, style, & deep condition for $32.50. I called, and they were able to get both of my girls in right away. That's where the good experience ended.
When we walked in, the first thing I noticed was it was very dated. The floors are covered in really old bluish carpet, and I immediately noticed the place had a weird odor. It smelled like "old"? There were two stylists working. Unfortunately I didn't get their names to be more specific. One woman I'm guessing was in her 40's, & the other one in her 60's. The younger stylist looked a bit bedraggled, while the older woman sported a very dated look that melded well with her perpetually sour expression .This in itself should have been a red flag not to get your teens hair done there. Another biggie was the stylists were not overly warm and friendly, barely spoke, and tended to stare. It was very akward.
I had said that I was interested in getting the special, plus one kids cut. I was told we would not get the advertised price today, and would have to come back tomorrow to get the special (on site there are no stipulations mentioned). I was then told my daughters haircut would actually be $47 if we opted to get it donetoday. Unfortunately, despite the false advertising, waiting was not an option, so we agreed to pay the extra $14.50.
My 8th grader got the older stylist. She was looking for a flattering trim with light layers. She did not get a wash, just a dry cut. When her cut was done, she came over, and I looked it over. It was not an extremely flattering cut. As a whole the haircut was very boring and boxy looking. The layers which framed her face (if you could even call them that) were subtle enough to not flatter, yet what was noticable looked choppy and uneven.
I asked the woman if she could correct the hair, and make the layers more soft, flattering, and obvious (not looking like my 6 yr old had gotten to her). She told me she could trim those pieces up a little bit, but anything beyond that would be a charge for a whole new haircut! I have NEVER heard someone try to pull a stunt like that in my life. So much for taking pride in your doing a good job and knowing and caring that your customer is satisfied. Lol. I'm not sure if this woman is extremely lazy or all about $$$. I told her that was absolutely ridiculous. Its not even like we had paid for the haircuts, left and come back. She said that she did it "exactly" as my daughter wanted it, and that she had said that she loved it (which she definitely did not). My daughter was stuck with the dated anti-social grump of a granny, who did the bare minimum, and it showed. How does a shy teen respond to the unpleasant sourpuss who is looking like she'd rather be anywhere else in the world, when she asks her if she likes the haircutcut? How does she say to this woman, "I hate to say it, but you cut hair like crap, and this haircut is lame." What she did was akwardly smile and nod. She certainly does NOT love it
Without tip, the total cost was $62 for one kids cut, and one regular women's wash/cut, with no blow dry.
