Papaya
Anna A.

I just recently discovered the store and have been living in the area for a while now. I must say it is an incredible local family owned produce store. Very well customer service. and the huge selection of meats, fish, and Deli. Their produce is always fresh. Recently I bought papaya from them, and I could not help myself, but to write a review because the quality of this pie in the taste of it felt like it was hand selected for the store. If you haven't checked this place out a guarantee, you'll love it. And also, I love supporting local produce stores. One thing I'd like to add to this reviews that I have noticed that they have a in-house bakery and always have these tasty baked goods upfront. They quickly run out, so you gotta get them in the morning. And let's not forget their in-house baked breads. It has such a beautiful vibe in the store. It's recently renovated and it's very nice bright lit colors.

Ararat Nursing Facility would like to thank Andranik, baker and Store Management for providing us with a special bread that was blessed by Catholicos Aram today! It was beautiful and presentable. Thank you so much. May God bless you and more success to your business. The bread received many compliments today.

JLook at that bread! They have freshly baked products every day! Fresh and delicious.

I love this store! They have everything you need and it's very clean. The staff is polite, and the products are incredibly fresh at reasonable prices. They have the best bakery I've ever seen! I live 18 miles away, but I still keep coming back to this store!

Lemejun aka Armenian pizza

Great spot, friendly service, clean produce and very organized. I make weekly visits especially for there Lemejun aka Armenian pizza. Always freshly made along with other pastries and hot meals. Their chicken breast and thigh kabob meat is ready and seasoned for bbq. Also, try their filet meat for kabob, cooks great even off the stove if bbq isn't available. The owners son takes pride in his family ran business, everything is well kept and ready for customers to choose from. Their business is welcome to all, some workers possibly aren't so familiar with English, but there's always someone present to help. See you guys soon!

Rotten apples. And I was overcharged $4.54 for them instead of $2.00 by the very unfriendly checker.
Greg B.

Unfortunately the negative claims about this store are absolutely true. The employees are unfriendly, and they do overcharge. Plus, they sell expired and rotten foods. I grabbed a bag of gala apples without thinking to check them. They were marked $2 and when I got home I not only found the cashier had charged me $4.54, but all the apples were rotten. I will not return, and I highly suggest you avoid this business.

They grill the food outside right next to their dumpsters. And 2 out of the 3 men there were smoking over the food. Eat at your own risk.

For those of you who live in the SFV, you know that good breakfast spots are hard to come by and if you do know any, you've already been there a thousand times. While searching for something new, I stumbled across this spot! My boyfriend and I love old diners like these so we decided to give it a try. I won't lie to you, pulling up and seeing it was at a Galpin dealership kind of threw us off lol But OMG this place was amazing! Right off the bat, the ambiance was so nice, like stepping into a time machine and being back in the 60s. We were greeted so warmly and decided to sit at the bar to get the full experience. Upon looking at the menu, they had more than just breakfast. They had burgers, sandwiches, melts, steaks and more! GET IT AT GALPIN Now, the chefs. Just by looking at them through the pass, I knew I was about to have the greatest food I've ever tasted.. I ordered the griddle combo with french toast, my boyfriend ordered the huevos rancheros and we got a pastrami melt to share, and it was life changing. The butter just melted on the french toast paired with the warm syrup on the side... o m g I tried the orange juice and thought "that is freshly squeezed" and look up to find a machine squeezing fresh oranges, amazing. Our server Sesy was so attentive and even gave us a slice of homemade banana cream pie for my boyfriend's birthday! (all their pies are homemade btw) Can't even be mad at the prices cause I got exactly what I paid for, worth every penny! This is definitely a new favorite spot we'll be coming to a thousand more times :) 10/10 Food 10/10 Service GET IT AT GALPIN

I ended up purchasing a car from Galpin last year, so I've had even more opportunities to stop by Horseless Carriage over the past year, and it's still just as good as I remember. Whether I'm there for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the food is always fresh, crisp, and full of flavor. You can tell there's a real standard for the food here, and I think it's far above what you normally expect from a restaurant connected to a dealership. Geovanni is also fantastic, especially when it comes to restaurant standards and catering. He's incredibly detailed and makes sure everything is taken care of, and his staff is always so friendly and welcoming. Everyone seems to genuinely enjoy being there, and you can tell. I also love that whenever I'm here, I see so many familiar faces. There are clearly a ton of regulars, and the restaurant is busy all the time. To me, that says a lot more than anything else could. People keep coming back because of the relationships they've built with the staff and the consistency of the experience. After coming here for more than 20 years, I can honestly say the quality is still there. You can tell the family takes a lot of pride in this restaurant, and it shows. It's one of those places where you know you're going to get a good meal every time, whether it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Cheers to consistency!

I'm actually glad I didn't go out of my way for it, as we only stopped by because we happened to be nearby at Lake Balboa Park. The shop itself is a tiny shack with fewer than six seats at the counter. While they have picnic benches out back, you have to head inside to order, which can get pretty cramped. To their credit, they do a good job of limiting the number of people inside at once, but I would recommend ordering to-go to avoid the tight squeeze. I tried their most popular items--the Italian and the Pastrami--and honestly, both were a bit underwhelming. I enjoyed the chopped onions, pickles, and tomatoes, which reminded me of the sandwich shops back home in Boston, but there are definitely better Pastrami and Italian-style sandwiches available in the greater LA area. I'm happy I finally crossed this off my list, but I likely won't be making a special trip back.

Figure out what you want to try before going because the menu is intimidating. There's a lot to try out depending on the time of day AND they have daily specials. I have 6 photos full of items that they offer and that is not enough to capture everything they offer. This place has definitely been around a while. Everything is a bit run down due to wear and tear. It kind of gives the place a rustic charm that also works as a small local market. Now I've read some reviews about service here, but I had a very bad experience. It was slow and we often felt ignored. Had to hail down some waiters to get served. Maybe it's because we came for lunch so there weren't as many employees on the floor? Not sure, but that's the only reason for flagging this rating as a 4 star. Food was great and unique. I tried their daily special and realized that I would love to imitate some of their cooking methods. Soup was not what I had expected, but the idea behind the food was there.

Souvlaki delivers on all cylinders with great customer service from Mr. Tony, who mentioned it was him and his mom working the kitchen that night (we came in around 9:10pm). Tony was very friendly and helpful to us in making a decision by describing the menu with detail which made it easy to decide what to order. Tony explained that they want to be a healthy late night option for patrons as they close at 11pm, also, the featured meats are halal. We ordered the lamb and beef shawarma wrap which come with fries. Canned and bottled drinks are availible to order as well. I really enjoyed the freshness of the Ingredients in the wrap, which was a pretty good size. Crunchy veggies, savory meat and sauce wrapped in what I believe is lavash thin flatbread. A classic wrap which did fill me up in a good way, it did feel like a healthy and nutritious type of full. It is complemented by salty fries which were cooked to perfection, we dipped our wraps and fries in some Tzatziki to top it off. The ambiance is chill, since it was late, we were able to get the bar style table availible at the window to dine in. Since it is located in the LA collection of chefs kitchens, they have a very small lobby/limited dining space so plan to enjoy 'to go', I'm not sure if the collection has a cafeteria style dining room somewhere. The lule is sized over average in comparison to other Mediterranean shops, I would say 1/3rd pound uncooked. Very juicy and savory.
