Came here on a Saturday for Iunch with friends. Place is small, but thy have a pool table, which is a plus. I ordered the tenderloin sandwich, which was absolutely huge! The tenderloins are homemade and are thicker tha most you find elsewhere. I ordered it with all the toppings and boy was it good! Other friends had the hot sausage sandwich or pizza. All of them raved about their food. On Saturdays with the order of a large pizza you get a cheese pizza free! Would come back again if I'm on this side of town. read more

Great onion rings and tenderloin. My husband and I stopped in for lunch we split 1/2 order onion rings we like the skinny ones and these were perfect. We also split the tenderloin it was cooked perfectly and the fries were good too. Staff was pleasant and we were well taken care of. It is a small town bar atmosphere with the regulars just hanging at the bar ! Great experience.. we will be back. read more

YUM!!!!! In town visiting from Scottsdale, AZ and decided (per the suggestion of my step-dad) to give this place a try. We LOVED it! Close to my parents house and the Cavatelli Dinner as well as our Pepperoni/Sausage Pizza was AMAZING!! Parents both get burgers there all the time and they enjoyed them that night too! Everyone was SUPER nice when we stopped in to pick up our carryout order. Can't wait to get back to Des Moines to try this place again! read more

Small dive type bar on Des Moines East side. NASCAR themed with TVs and a pool table. Half dozen beers on tap and friendly staff. Daily specials on pizza and happy hours. Our group was drinking pitchers of beer from the tap and the waitress never let it run dry. Ordered food and received it shortly and it was still steaming hot. I had the hot sausage sandwich with peppers. It was made on a hoagie bun. With the local graziano sausage patties stacked on it. Others in my group had the tenderloin, which was very large and came with all the extras. Good breading and flavor. We also had a large pizza that was cut into squares, was tasty and flavorful. Saturday September 4th. Order food to go. Over $80.00. We was missing items called them, and let our server know the sampler platter was missing serial things. She said she was sorry for that. And they charged us for extra ranch. That didn't happen. Mandy our server called me back and said there menu had changed. And we were given the correct order because there menu changed and Rich the manager said they were not doing any about. Well you lost my business as well as my family and friends won't give that a place any if our money. We eat there all the time. But its my last time. Yes my money can go anywhere. Nice atmosphere, clean, not divey, not trendy...just right. Several TVs for sports watching. I love the super comfy bar stools! Nice sized outdoor patio area. Ok so yes an East side bar. Best steak in town. A huge steak, huge baked potato, and side salad Saturday nights around $10. So worth it. Fridays and Saturdays buy a large pizza and get a free small cheese pizza. Burgers are also excellent. Have not had a bad meal here yet. Only down fall they burn the drinks. They usually don't mind if I tell them to back off some. read more

This bar is by far the worse bar I've ever been to. The bar was empty, but it took over 30min to get a drink. Then We get our food and our cheeseburgers are cold in the middle. Staff is very rude and unprofessional. No wonder they have such a high turn over rate. They always have a help wanted sign in the window and boy do they need it! read more

Pleasantly surprised! I drive by this place all the time, but was hesitant to stop in. Finally did, and the the place is clean with very friendly staff. The food is fantastic! Was in for lunch last week and WOW, an old man was sitting at the bar, was told he was a regular, but he was constantly angrily mumbling very loudly and we made a comment to the bartender on how awkward and uncomfortable we felt, but nothing was done to provide an even semi-better environment. Needless to say, we wont be making Victory Lane a lunch spot. read more

The Grinders and Onion rings are delicious. The grinder has just the right amount of spice and the rings are the thin ones. I'm getting hungry as I type this! The Tavern used to be my favorite grinders, but these are just as good, if not better. If all their other menu items are as good as this, you won't be disappointed. read more

Let me start by saying that I have been to the establishment on several occasions and had excellent food and service, but I put a to-go order in on Saturday night 3/7/2020. When I arrived I could see that they were busy and I figured it would take a little time to get my order. So I patiently waited for someone to ask me if they could help me. After 15 Minutes of being ignored' I respectfully approached the waitress and politely asked her " when you get a second would you please check and see if my to-go order is ready' That is when things went bad... This 4 ft nothing 200 lbs troll puked out " I don't have a second to check on your order". A little shocked I stepped back and thought ,WOW now that's customer service. which I quickly responded ' When you do find a second would you please stick my pizza and wings up your fat ass. I guess the moral of the story is that one bad employee having a bad day can certainly change your perception of how you feel about a business. Being in the retail industry and managing more then 30 employees I would say that if one of my employees ever treated one of my customers in this manner they would find their ass in the unemployment line before the end of their shift. read more

This review is for the service recieved. Being a customer that came here often, I am so disappointed. I ordered large pizza and a sirloin to go. When my husband returned with our food. We found the pizza was made wrong. Then the extra pizza we recieved for free was also wrong and they never gave us our sirloin meal. Me being in the service industry myself I understood the mistake. Until my husband returned with my sirloin meal and they still forgot my salad and all condiments that were to come with. I then call to let them know I am very upset. Management doesn't even apologize. All he says is "all I can do is get you a free pizza" and hands to phone off to the bartender. Who I then hear say "that's not my problem". Also bar tender had no apologies for the incovience. Poor service. poor management. Not sure I will return. read more

This place served my Dad alcohol until he was nearly dead. Obviously, their employees are either untrained or do not have the courage to quit serving alcohol. If anything happened to him, I would take all legal action possible to put this place out of business! read more
