Bottom line: price quoted and installation met with no surprises. Clean space left with all old items and leftover stuff removed. I had called Action Heating and Air for my furnace service and found them to be dependable and professional, so I figured I would give them another try. I booked an appointment a few days out and Rick showed up... on time and ready to tackle the a/c inspection. He did brief me on what he would be doing and then quickly got to work (no rush as it was not hot, well not yet anyway). He did his inspection and cleaning of the unit briefing me along the way as to his findings. Once done, he cleaned up the work area and presented me with a very reasonable bill of service. Rick was extremely professional and friendly at all times during the service visit. When I called, they sent a technician who told me the repair would be covered under warranty and that I wouldn't be charged. However, after the repair, the unit broke down again less than a year later. When I contacted the company this time, they refused to come out unless I first paid an outstanding bill of $1,200--something I was never expecting based on what I had been told previously. When I asked why I was being charged, the representative explained that the warranty only covered the first year, and since the initial breakdown happened after 13 months, I had been billed for that repair. I then questioned how a $1,200 repair could be justified when the unit failed again so quickly afterward. The rep simply said this was "standard" in his experience, and "just the way it is". Overall, this has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. I paid a significant amount for a new system, yet I've already dealt with multiple breakdowns and unexpected charges. Not what I would expect from a professional HVAC company.

He was a former technician so he knew the details of each system very well. He was as honest a guy as you would ever want to meet. Not only did he not try to upsell us on a more expensive unit, he emphasized that the intro level system was very suitable for our house and steered us away from higher priced options because the extra features and efficiency didn't justify the price difference for our needs. As it turned out, our furnace conked out around this time, so Rechtin got a tech out to us quickly to get our old system running until the new one could be installed. The installation took two days, and the team was superbly skilled and courteous. The price of the work was not just fair, but very competitive. These guys took great care of our needs at a good price, and they were responsive when we needed them. What's not to love?

Customer service was absolutely fantastic and Tyler W. was accommodating and gave us clear explanations as to what was wrong. We received a text message with a picture of the employees so we knew who to expect and what they looked like. Arlinghaus has to send another worker out to discuss prices on a new furnace. Tyler was able to get our furnace working temporarily as we look into buying a new furnace. It cost $89 for him to come out and diagnose the problem. They will remove this from any extra work they may need to do. Unfortunately, in the end we could not afford even the lowest option they had for a furnace. They use a top furnace line brand and are more expensive then the national average. This was the only draw back for me that it was to expensive and I did not want to enter into a loan for a $7,000 furnace when the average homeowners pay is $3100. Regardless, they were transparent and did not pressure me into anything we didn't want to do. I highly recommend Arlinghaus for their professionalism and honesty with their customers.
