After about 6 months after my first haircut with her, and the tips she's provided, my hair is low key thriving! Let's start off with location... She's located downtown Hayward off B Street. Although, parking kinda sucks, and it is the Main Street with so many cars, her place is so cute! Inside her place, there plenty of seating, and a lot of chairs available. For the most part, whenever I go see her, I'm probably the only other client inside - just incase you guys get nervous for Covid reasons. Nancy is so welcoming. She starts off asking you what you want to do with your hair, and she observes and starts framing your face to see if you would like it and gives out suggestions as needed. Then she washes your hair, and then she begins the cut. She's so knowledgable in the industry. She given me helpful advice on how to maintain my hair. For reference, I've always had to wash my hair daily because it's always getting so oily. So she's given me tips on how to prevent it. And after 6 months of following tips, and seeing what works for me, my hair is fuller, healthier, and thriving as I've mentioned. It was my second time coming in, and since my hair had grown out, I just needed a trim cleaning up the sides while keeping the length on top. Karl Cheung was my stylist, and he was fantastic. He immediately understood what I wanted and executed it perfectly. I also had my hair washed before the cut and tried a down perm for the first time, which made a huge difference since my hair tends to stick up and get unruly. My hair is long, but it isn't completely straight like most common Asian hair. My hair had gotten to the point where I really needed a trim to get rid of a lot of the split-ends, but I didn't have time to drive all the way into SF (where I use to live before moving to Hayward) just to visit my usual hairdresser/stylist. I contacted Lien via text and she was super responsive. I was also able to schedule an appointment with her the next day during the afternoon. Not only that, Lien is super nice and friendly! This review is for Libby…read more I've been seeing Libby for over two years and actually travel back to the Bay Area just to have my hair done by her - that's how good she is. She's a true color magician. She helped me transition through the awkward grey stage at exactly the right time, and later brought me back to light brown in a way that blends beautifully with my fast-growing greys and grows out naturally without constant upkeep. The moment I knew I could fully trust her was when she gave me a short haircut, something I'm usually very hesitant about and absolutely nailed it. Finding a stylist who is genuinely excellent at both color and cutting is surprisingly rare, and Libby is both. She listens carefully, understands the science behind how color and texture behave, and designs styles that actually look great as they grow out not just the day you leave the chair. Anyways, the place itself is pretty convenient since it's located by the freeway. The place is surprisingly pretty big and spacious and my mom's hairdresser is always patient and polite. I will admit probably for my mom's next visit I'll have to stick around a tad longer and help my mom and her hairdresser when my mom gets her hair washed. So not everything there is I guess ADA available, but it's a minor thing for now since my mom has very limited mobility but can move with some assistance. As for the hairstyle, mom is always happy and I personally think makes her feel as normal as she can get these days and being content let alone having another outside interaction besides with me is always a good thing!

I only came to see her for all of my hair needs. She's the sweetest and a true expert at what she does, so there is NO complaint there whatsoever. The reason I've come back to write this review is because of the frustration I experienced last year-ish when I wanted to make an appointment to see her for my hair again. You can't make appointments with Julie online- you have to contact the salon directly via email or text. I reached out at least twice and both times received no response. I was a long time client at this salon and it felt like that didn't matter at all. The services here are great, but I wanted to hopefully shed some light on this issue I had here and maybe even return in the future if this gets resolved.
