My family has lived here at Canon Ridge for 5 years now. Had a problem with a cracked double pane window and they took care of it promply. I've never had a problem getting ahold of someone when I call. And they have always been thoughtful and courteous to me on the phone. I do call during business hours. They do a great job of keeping our complex looking good notwithstanding, we have a gentleman who lives in the complex who looks after sidewalk snow, gardening and general grounds maintenance. Is everything perfect? Not quite, but I don't feel neglected by this management company either. read more

Flexibility seems to be an on going issue. Missing payments are not a money issue, it's a Flexibility issue. Go to bank get certified cheque to pay arrears...why..monthly payments are now going through...so certified is for who besides. inconvenience for me. read more

Worked with Shannon with regards to a purchase of a property. She fully informed me of everything that was going on with the building. She was very much on top of things despite me calling her sometimes numerous times a day. I have had many unsatisfactory dealings with property management companies. Our building manager was extremely rude and condescending. When called out for his behaviour he claimed I was the only being rude because I emailed him after 5pm (for an email that I did not require an immediate response). Awful behaviour and awful to deal with. He expecting new tenants to know all the procedures and comply with them immediately. None of the procedures are listed on any paper work given to tenants upon move in. The only instructions provided are "call or email ****" read more

Following the terrible windstorm that destroyed my roof I called the next morning and within a couple of hours I had workers on my roof making repairs, I found this amazing as the local news said that home owners might have to wait a month or two for repairs due to the severity of the damage in the city. We have always had a good response from Victorian including repairs to a flooding basement a couple of years ago. read more

I have been dealing with company for the past few years now. They are the worst property management company I have ever dealt with. For the most important of things, they don't call you (or email!). For those of us on the road a lot for work, it's impossible for us to read standard mail. I've been screwed by these guys numerous times because they try to reach me only by standard mail. I've been away from home for two months at times. How are you supposed to service those folks Victorian Property Management?? Get on with Technology folks! Victorian has been God sent. Anthony And staff are polite, friendly and most importantly most helpful. The grounds crew who tend to landscaping, grass cutting and snow removal do a great job and should be commended. The absolute worst management company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. For one, they managed to mail me just recently in regards to my "unauthorized dog" who we have had for over two months now, (we own our condo) and they couldn't even do enough research to get my freaking name correct. I am female, and they labelled me as "Ryan".. nope not even close. There were several other spelling mistakes in the letter, that just shows how unprofessional and rushed they are. NOT TO MENTION - I have never EVER called them and actually gotten through. Every time I am forced to leave a voice mail - which takes them a week to reply to! When they do finally get back to you they are RUDE! As far as the "maintenance" goes I have yet to see any work on the actual buildings, however it is evident that they had been there at one time, as their maintenance people left zip ties littered all around the side of my condo, as well as various tools and paintbrushes. The doors obviously need to be repainted and treated. The paint is chipped off on every door, and it looks awful. Did you know that your dog isn't allowed to PEE on their property? Really people? you're tellling me that in the morning when my dog has been inside all night, and she has to pee - I have to walk all the way around the poorly designed complex to get her to a pathway? Ya, I'm sure my dog will wait.. They have a gazillion rules - yet they only seem to reinforce the ones that are least important. ie: dont leave furniture in the garbage area - yet every day as I try to throw out my garbage, the dumpsters are FULL of couches, broken coffee tables, I think there was even a mattress in there the other day. -PARKING - they ask that you do not stay overnight in the visitors parking spaces, and that residents don't park there. Well I can tell you that the majority of the residents DO park there AND they stay overnight. It's rather frustrating when you actually do have visitors and they have no where to park. OR - My favorite - the people who park behind their other vehicles, therefore blocking one 'lane'. I would understand if they did this for a quick second, while unloading their vehicles... but overnight!?? these are the people that need to be fined, and have their vehicles towed. Why are the lesser 'offenses' being punished while these larger ones are getting away Scot free? I'll tell you why - This management team is garbage. read more

Complete lack of effort. They simply outsource all their issues and hope that takes care of it. I have had a leaking bathroom ceiling fan in two bathrooms for the last 7 years. They still have not got it fixed correctly. They also lied to me saying that they sent old style mail notices to the address on my title, but they obviously haven't checked that title in 3 years. This business is run by a "gentlemen's club" of cantankerous old men. They do not respect women or young people and are not the least bit helpful in any matter that we have had concerning our condo. They had the walls "touched up" in all the common areas and it looks like a five year old slopped mismatched paint all over the building. In fact I did see who was contracted to do this work and it was a group of young boys looking no older than 17. I need a new key to the building and I mailed a cheque as well as a self-addressed envelope and a signed letter for the new key, three months later, after 2 phone calls I still have no key. I called again and was told that Dave ,the man responsible for our building, was away for two weeks on surgery and that I had to wait till he was back...so no one could help me for 2 weeks? I have been waiting for three months!! ENOUGH I demanded a new key and then had to pay cash for it even though I had already sent in a cheque. After I was told the reason I couldn't have a key was because I'm not an owner. Ummm what? Hey idiot just because I'm young does not mean I can't own a condo! Lastly my vehicle was broken into underground and I called to report it I received a three word reply "call the police" How helpful, thank you! Are you going to check the security cameras? Do I clean up the glass? Have others experience this problem? These guys need to be put out to pasture! I'm so shocked that people do business with these dinosaurs... read more

I totally agree with you. You are not the only one who has been abused by these poeple. These guys at Victorian Property Management are horrible people who shouldn't be in the business at all. Unfortunately, we often have people who signed up to be on the condo board of directors, but are often foolish or ignorant of what these Property Management people are doing to the other condo owners. Try to get the words out to as many people as possible about these nasty people. Remember, every year the condo board of directors can be replaced with the right people who want to do something about it and are capable of doing due diligence, not just blindly believing in everything they are told by these lousy Property Management people. So, get your words out there and talk to your neighbors, friends and the condo board members (demand that the condo board members to, as a minimum, allow themselves to be reached by email directly instead of filtering everything through the Property Management people). Why are the people on the board of directors if they don't want to be reached (at least by email or phone) or listening to issues that concern other owners? Ask questions like: How do the other owners know for sure the board of directors are really owners of the condo if they don't allow themselves to be reached? Also, the Property Management people can't be trusted to pass negative news about their business practice to the board, can they? Get involved and get other owners at the Annual General Meeting to elect the board members that are interested in listening to your concerns. Otherwise, things won't improve and these lousy Property Management people can continue to go on with their horrible business practice right under the noses of the board of directors. Also try to file your complaint to the ACCI (Associate of the Canadian Condominium Institute). Good luck. read more

Still a childish organization...Petty don't like complaints from owners, cost of condo fees still going up, shoddy work orders.

I've been dealing with them for about 5 years and they have been good. They managed the property I own very well.

Name should be changed to mis management.There is a massive pot hole created and no repairs as we are waiting for the whole parking lot to be paved...although there is nothing wrong with the pavement.They have given us 3 different times for this new pavement ,yet it has been post poned again.We as a condo owners must pay for litigation that is a result of improper windows that are not up to fire code installed only 7 or 8 years ago.If we lose we will have to put new windows in again.They are now cutting down perfectly heathly 30 year old trees and bringing down our property values along with them.The reserve fund is being depleted as they spend our money on mataneince companies that drive through our complex and don't even get out of the vehicle.Our lawns were just sprayed with weed and feed even though it is September.The condo President has illegally planted trees on a pipe line right of way and uses the water we pay for to water them.When we bought our condo 3 years ago and it took 2 1/2 years of fighting to get them to replace a window that was cracked due to improper installation.The management company is now trying to pass the maintenence and responsiblity of the chimneys of the fire places to the owners,although these are 30 years old.They offered free cleaning to certain residents and the rest of us had to pay $150...nice.All the imformation above came from a siiting board member on our condo association. When confronted with these facts Brian Newbert said " Your a whinner and where are you getting these wild accusations. Before I could respond he hung up. His assistant Wayne Newbert told me to "call back when I get a brain".These people are what passes as property managers.This not even touching on the racist remarks made to tenants that are ignored if they try to get concerns addressed.I am currently filing a complaint with RECA. read more

For Standard support they are a good company. Unfortunately you can only contact them by phone (unless their service gets angry if it isn't for an emergency) and will sometimes take messages (but good luck getting it to the person intended or getting a response), mail (post office) or in person. Once a year (April) they give you a document to FAX to them if you are lucky enough to have a fax, but no email so not possible to contact them any way to provide information or request work be done except by phoning in. Unfortunately this is extremely inconvenient for many people and makes it difficult to get work done that is not an emergency, unless you consider cold air coming in through windows and doors during the winter and no soundproofing to deaden the noise neighbours are making. So I guess the home owners need to keep a list of what went wrong during the year so that they can send in the list in April and hope they didn't miss anything. Owners are not always contacted prior to any work being done on the buildings or unit fences (surprise). read more
