A beautiful city with so many breathtaking views. The site is located in the middle of the city surrounded by stores, restaurants, and other must see locations. I highly recommend booking this tour because you can learn so much and will learn about the Roman history of the baths. There is a self-guided tour that you can go as you wish. There is so much to see and so much information along the walls. Make sure to bring comfortable shoes since the ground can get a bit uneven throughout the tour and make sure you see the beautiful baths throughout the tour. Such an impressive experience and if you are in London, I recommend taking a day trip or two to visit. You will be mesmerized and taken back in time.

We had pre-bought tickets for a specific entry time, but there were tickets available at the door as well. I wouldn't chance it though. The line was short to get in at our time and the audio guide is included as part of the admission price. made the tour interesting and the facts provided were the perfect amount of detail. There was a kid's version too which was great! We were there a little over an hour and at the end you can taste some of the bath water, which was disgusting!!

The 11+ acre park, located at the top of Beechen Cliff, offers a variety of normal park-like things to do: you could bring a picnic, go for a stroll, walk your pup, lean against one of the many beautiful old trees and read a book, stretch out on their lawns, or enjoy the play area with your kiddos. But whatever you do: slow down, stop a minute, and take in that glorious panoramic of the city in her entirety. You can make your way straight to the view itself by driving up Shakespeare Avenue from Wells Road (there's on-street parking and plenty of benches you can sit at), or take Jacob's Ladder (a very long, very steep flight of steps). Parking is free, admission is free, and so is the picture perfect (mental) postcard you'll take away too.

It was only later that I saw that this is on the Bath Map as a tourist sight. It's close to the Royal Crescent which is another great architectue marvel.

The Circus is absolutely something worth walking through while you're traversing the city of Bath…read more(especially if you like unique and/or Georgian architecture): it's three sections of historic townhouses that curve to form a ring, and in the center is a pretty lawn space with a few very large trees. It was designed by John Wood, the Elder in the late 18th century (but he died pretty soon after construction started so John Wood, the Younger finished it). Supposedly it was inspired by Stonehenge. Fun facts: famed painter Thomas Gainsborough lived here and an aerial view of this area of Bath shows that Queens Square, Gay Street, and the Circus resemble a key (this masonic symbol was a theme with Wood apparently). You're not coming here to eat anything (unless you've brought a picnic to enjoy in the middle grassy area); you're not necessarily coming here to do anything (besides observe, reflect, take a few photos, walk around), but it is absolutely fascinating to check out!

Or the crazy golf is right next door if you fancy more fun. Prices are reasonable, coaching is available and they run lessons throughout the week. Book in advance.

It's the perfect size, impressively well maintained, has an obelisk in the center of it, and is great to use as a landmark when you're first getting to know the city! Such a nice smaller spot for picnics, nightly boules, Saturday artisan markets, photographing the cherry blossoms in May, or taking part in any number of amazing events throughout the year (like the Bath Festival [enjoyed a cider, some food truck eats, and lively drumline here!] in May or the Jane Austen Festival in September, for example). It seems like there's always something amazing happening here. Queen's Square was designed and built by John Wood the Elder in the first half of the 1700's - it's also part of a key shape when look down at aerially (Gay Street and the Circus making up the rest of the design). Because the whole city needs a Bath…read more One of the few teams I'm reviewing outside the top 5 tiers of English football, for the reason that Bath is one of the most beautiful cities in the world so it deserves to be on this list. First-Hand Experience: I haven't seen them play live at home yet, but I've seen them away from home a few times and they're an amazing team with a great little fan base representing one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. I last saw them in 2007 but will see a home game for them soon. This little Roman town is millenniums old, so it makes sense that the team here is from all the way back in the 1880s. Not 1980s, that's not a typo. They play in Black and White and are in the Conference South, but hopefully they'll rise up and get in the big time soon. They've never been in the league proper but there's a first time for everything. Their stadium Twerton Park holds 8,800.

Even if architecture isn't necessarily your thing - it's a spectacular and impressive sight, and an iconic landmark here in the city. Also walking is good for you, so grab a coffee and meander through the city (maybe pack a picnic, a good book, and a blanket to enjoy in the expansive parkland opposite the houses after you've take a few photos). So what is it? Thirty identical terraced townhouses of Bath stone in a perfect crescent shape created by John Wood, The Younger in the mid-ish 1700's. And yes, you'll probably see the ha-ha - it's a low stone structure that separates/partitions the upper and lower lawns (allowing for an uninterrupted, sweeping view of Royal Victoria Park, and - once upon a time - it stopped the livestock from wandering up to the building itself). There's several different incredible views of The Crescent throughout the city - walking up to it initially from Brock St, for example, is pretty breathtaking the first time; looking up at The Crescent through the trees, past the green space along Royal Ave; and, from Alexandra Park (which gives you views of all the staple Bath spots).
