Shades is the BEST spray tan place around. Amazing staff, fantastic product, and so so so…read moreaccommodating & helpful. I started getting spray tans in preparation of my wedding. Everyone was incredible and helped me figure out what shade I was looking for and gave me all kinds of amazing tips to help make sure I looked incredible. Literally the only place I will go for a spray tan.

I want to preface this by saying this was my first spray tan ever so I was very nervous and had…read morelots of questions going into it. Charity was extremely kind and answered all my questions -- she also made me feel extremely comfortable considering how little clothing is involved. She helped me decide on a shade and made pleasant conversation during the process. As a first timer, I was surprised how quickly the session was. In and out the door within 20 minutes. I paid extra for the rapid dry and I'm glad I did as I was able to shower before bed which was nice. The salon is clean and cozy, the price considering my add ons (I also did the hydration spray) seemed reasonable, and the shade is beautiful and very natural looking. The only thing I wish were different is the creases I have on my wrists and marks on my heels. She did apply a drying powder and wiped my hands and feet with wet wipes, but those areas look a bit streaky. Overall though, I've gotten several compliments on how natural it looks and I'm glad that I went! I'll be back.

I booked a bikini wax and did not state a preference for the technician. Riley ended up doing my Brazilian and she was excellent! She talked to me throughout to distract me from the pain, but honestly it was not that painful. I was surprised that my skin was not super red afterward. She offered me a rosewater wipe to use prior the waxing and the treatment room was clean. She did a thorough job and used an oil by the brand Fur to finish, and I decided to purchase the travel rollerball, which totally helped eliminate any ingrown hairs or red bumps that were trying to come out. I kept using the rollerball for weeks after, and no ingrowns! I shopped around the boutique after my treatment and was astounded at the reasonable prices on the super cute clothes, jewelry, and other accessories and fun things in the shop. I left with a dress, a couple cute tops, a bracelet and earrings by Scout (love that brand), and a travel candle, plus the Fur rollerball. I believe the Brazilian bikini wax was $65, and I left a nice tip and walked away with fun new stuff without spending a ton over my gift card amount of $115. Side note--the toilet would not flush when I used their restroom, and let them know, so they shut it down for customer use while I was there. I think it's an older building and perhaps sensitive plumbing. This did not affect my experience in any way. Overall I recommend Riley and this awesome little boutique if you live near the Carlsbad area or are visiting!

My daughter bought me a groupon for my birthday because I've been DYING for eyelash extensions…read more With the help of groupon and yelp she found Lash Mi and purchased a classic full set with a fill for a fabulous deal. We reached out to schedule an appt. and they were able to get me in for my extensions on the exact day/time that I preferred (which was within 2 days of reaching out to them). They were very accommodating and truly expressed care for my time. I received reminder/confirmation texts which were super helpful. When I arrived; parking was a breeze, the studio was super easy to find, the inside of Lash Mi was inviting (decorated so beautiful, awesome music playing), and I was promptly greeted by my lash stylist (Katie). She asked me some questions regarding my history with lashes, my expectations, and then got right to work. She was so delicate it was actually relaxing (I woke up to myself snoring a few times!!). When she finished and showed me my lashes I WAS BEYOND PLEASED; she exceeded my expectations. To conclude that appt. I scheduled a follow up fill but this time with Catt (the owner), she's fabulous (she offered my daughter a beverage and updated her throughout my appt. while she waited for me). In the past, I've had weird reactions to either eyelash glue or the material itself but had ZERO negative reaction to the work that was done by Katie. I decided that I would like to go a little longer for my fill; so at my appt. with Catt, I expressed my new hopes for my lashes and YET AGAIN my expectations were exceeded. Catt and Katie are truly the best of the best, they're knowledgeable, hardworking, and it's very apparent that they LOVE what they do. The customer service, efficiency, and quality of work of Lash Mi cannot be beat and I give them my highest recommendation. I can't wait to go back for my next fill :)
