I've used Victoria for 3+ years now -- used to go to the one on Fleur and never had any issues, then started going to the one on Grand recently. All was good until they lost my nicest and perfectly tailored dress shirt on a day I needed it for a wedding. Staff was somewhat helpful in trying to locate it but I was eventually called after maybe an hour of "looking" for the shirt and told, "you should just bring us a receipt of a new shirt and we'll reimburse you." I'd be upset about losing any shirt but to be told this on the day of a friend's wedding of which I needed the shirt for certainly amplified my frustration. I appreciate the reimbursement but off principle I am considering taking my services elsewhere. ...update: they found my shirt... after telling me to go buy a new one. Took a week longer than they said, they lost my bag and my bed bedskirt to a brand new $300+ bed set. When I called about bed skirt missing they just said it should've been delivered and they don't have anything there. Over $70 spent and didn't even get all my stuff back. I understand things happen, but I'm more upset that it was all handled poorly. read more

You have down as 1 hour dry cleaning that is nit true they don't do it. It states can be done in one hour but it isn't true takes 2 to 3 days at least. read more

I was excited to support a local business with four of my suits, my tux pants and a favorite blazer but was upset with the outcome of a suitpants going MIA and the lack luster service. I discovered: Yes, they write on your garments as they send your clothes to a plant. Also- they claim to rarely mess up, and they writing on the clothes prevents loss in drycleaning. Victoria Cleaners CUT TAGS OUT OF MY WIFE'S CLOTHES. Just who does this Victoria think she is? My wife has multiple sizes of identical suit pants and skirts. I made the mistake of taking a large order. They CUT THE SIZE TAGS OUT so they could wrap their yellow ID tag around the label. Now she can't easily tell apart many of her dress clothes that she wears every day for work. Getting ready EVERY DAY from now on will be a huge pain in the neck. Victoria also wrote our last name in marker on all of her clothes. My wife isn't going to summer camp. And other cleaners have their shift together enough not to need to do that. How is this Victoria lady still in business? My wife also regularly sells gently used clothes. With no size tag and her name written in them, this not really an option now. My wife called and politely told Victoria about the problem. "We don't do that," was the location's response. She escalated to the main office. "We don't do that, but sorry, and we'll get back to you," was the updated response. We've been waiting a month for a response. Avoid Victoria. read more

Incredibly high priced. $10 for pants is simply ridiculous. This company has a partnership with Hy-Vee, so if you drop off to those stores in the Des Moines metro, you're likely to get Victoria Cleaners. Their pricing for dresses is even worse. They have a category for "Fancy" dresses with no definition and can literally charge you what they feel is appropriate without a pre-negotiated price. Never have I witnessed such irresponsible business practices. read more

Make sure you check for every article of clothing when you pick up. This is now the 2nd time they haven't given me my complete order and one of the items missing was for a photo shoot. I have been a Victoria customer for 20+ years and have had generally good experiences until recently. I dropped off two Chico's jackets to be cleaned. When I picked them up, they looked worse than when I dropped them off. They were wrinkly and creased. When I questioned the condition and asked for a do-over, a supervisor later called me and said the fabric was meant to be wrinkly which is untrue because they weren't wrinkly when I purchased them. I took the jackets and a week or so later, a check for $16 appeared in the mail with no note or explanation. I assume the check was to cover the cleaning but since both jackets are now unwearable, I would have expected to be compensated for either replacement cost or actual cash value. read more

The business said we could pick up our items anytime after 6:00 pm. When we arrived at 5:58, The worker in the business said the driver was in route to drop off the items, but has no cell phone to get ahold of them to know there whereabouts. We call the Victoria Cleaners headquarters. The headquarters said they can guarantee he left the warehouse over an hour ago and the location on Grand usually gets there stuff right at 6:00 pm. "Usually," is the part of the problem. It is now 6:20, finally the driver has arrived. He still has to unload the items. While my husband was finally checking out with his item, the employees spoke a different language. Known behold, my husband speaks "Spanish,". The workers called my husband a very inappropriate word. My husband responded back to them in "spanish," sorry but I'm not. The workers were a little surprised. First and foremost, how can you run a business and say you guarantee something and it's not guaranteed Second of all why are you a business who does not have a phone or radio system to know the whereabouts of your drivers. Third of all, I know the business can't control what their employees say to people, but at least hold your employees accountable to represent your business with class. read more

Have had consistent good experiences with this business. I usually drop pieces off at Dahls and pick them up at the same location. The prices are on the higher end but they have a convenience factor having an alternative location within a grocery store. read more

We took a sofa slipcover and cushion covers to Victoria for cleaning, unsure of the outcome we should expect as the sofa/slipcover is 18 years old! They perfectly removed the grime where hands touched the arm rests and made the slipcover look like new. Not inexpensive ($80), but their work is much appreciated and recommended. read more

We've been using Victoria Cleaners since moving to Des Moines a few years ago. Recently, a quilt I sent to them to be dry cleaned for the first time did not survive the dry cleaning process very well. After multiple attempts to correct the damage, the owner called me himself to apologize. Even though Victoria Cleaners did not make a mistake in cleaning my quilt, they issued us store credit for the amount of the quilt. I think this is EXCELLENT customer service and I highly recommend this business to anyone looking for a dry cleaner. read more
