My broker used Victor's team with his loan origination company "Straightline Lending" for a cash out refinance. Victor's team sold my loan to a Wholesale Lender (NMSI). The whole process was a mess since the start. Multiple mistakes, no one addressed my raised flags and I ultimately was blindsided with a deposit 10K below what I was originally quoted. The whole process was full of mistakes. I raised flags every time they issued wrong disclosures, asked multiple times for the parties involved to correct the original agreed upon numbers and no one seemed to coordinate. Victor's team had people quit or get fired, and no one was willing to review the file once it was all done. I have had multiple discussions (with emails and text documenting it all) with all the parties involved, including Victor and the partner at Straighline, and have gotten the run around for 5 months. I was patient and was willing to resolve the issue for far to long. After consulting my attorney her exact words were "I don't know how your loan was able to fund with all these discrepancies". The executed documents are full of inconsistencies and discrepancies in the loan estimate, closing disclosures, and escrow figures. My attorney, and even some of the parties involved in the process, immediately saw and acknowledged the mess this has all been. If you are dealing with Victor or his team, keep a close eye on your files and process. You will not get a response if anything is wrong or there are any discrepancies. Every body might be happy with this broker. I for my part have never had such a bad experience with a lender (I Have bought four homes in my time). I was trying to purchase a manufactured home on its own land. Almost from day one his team kept on dropping the ball. Starting with his loan agent dealing with my loan. Documentation that should have been asked for from the get go like an IDTS letter, was asked for last minute. The home has an expando section. It was totally permitted with the County Planning and Building more than ten years ago. Supposedly, the lender required an Structural Engineer Certification stating the addition was done properly. Three hundred dollars out of my pocket. The appraiser did not mention anything about it. My Real Estate agent was doing a fantastic job in trying to keep me up to date with what was going on, however when things got hectic Victor would not even have the civility to return calls or messages. He kept on giving the impression he was being bothered. The same can be said of his loan agent. It seemed nobody knew what was going on. One day they would request a document, the next another. Sometimes the required documents that were already sent, but they would ask for them again. Also, they would require documents that not even FHA required. Their answer was "the lender requires it" I had to spend extra money to fulfill the lender's whims. There was a former FHA loan application two months old. I rescinded on the purchase of another home. The application stayed open because the other lender left it open. The loan agent calls me and tells me I have to call and have it corrected. According to California RE law, THEY were responsible for getting that document. Valuable time was lost because of Victor's team. I had to get two closing extensions because of their sloppiness. Now, after the final documents were signed and notarized, the Notary Public delivered the docs the same night to Escrow(Thursday). She told me the loan should close and record the next day (Friday). I waited till mid afternoon. No closing, no funding no recording. I called Victor and he told me the Notary had dropped the docs late in the morning and therefore could not close and record the title, besides he tells me they had a large volume of loans to deal with. Then he tells me they should close, fund, and record Monday. Because not closing on Friday, the seller had to ask for an extension until the next Wednesday. Tuesday I get a message from the loan agent telling me they were funding. Victor calls me to congratulate me. The loan should have recorded the same day. Did not happen. In the meantime I already had signed documents. Beginning with the 2nd of the month, I accrue interests, taxes, insurance, and other costs but yet, I haven't even got the keys to the property. My question is, who is going to reimburse me for the loan impound costs for the lost seven days I am already paying. Not to mention I had to pay almost two hundred dollars for another month of storage because of their incompetence. As I said, there may be a lot of happy people with this company. I am not one of those people. I would never recommend this company to my worst enemy, let alone to my RE friends. read more
