Good typical chippy menu and reasonable prices. We all went for battered fish and chips. Took a while to get our order in then had a 10 min wait for the food. Seemed a bit slow but at least they have seats and tables for waiting. Good sized portions, fish was really nice and chips perfect. Would have given 5 stars if our waiting time was shorter.

This is a sit down restaurant located in the basement, not what we expected, but much better than a basement sounds! Several of us ordered their classic haddock fish and chips and it was battered perfectly! Light, crispy and delish! This was the best fish and chips we had during the trip and there were many good ones. Side salads were yummy and huge. Coleslaw was just ok, supppper creamy. I prefer the mushed peas. The chorizo and fish starter was good, but not worth recommending or repeating. Local beers on draught available. Our server gave us a great recommendation for a bar after (Duke's Corner). Dessert special was a traditional Scottish dessert of oats, berries, cheesecake and whiskey and was worth trying!

My wife (Nettie) and my cat Colleen ventured from our humble burgh of Mucklechin with some air of delight at the prospect of another outing like the one we had the previous. The establishment don't even have Hinds and Hindsey's, just a white hot food incubator (which Colleen burnt her little toes on) and a po-faced, bedraggled steet fighting servent. Our previous meal of biscuits, hotdogs and scampi was a real orgy of flavorous Thrim-Thrim-Thrim but alas, the fare here was of poor quality i myself opted for a deep fried block of Stilton, (supper) Nettie had a Half-Mock Chop (the other half wasn't joking) and Colleen had of course a deep-fried Mars Bar. The beetroot and fennel was a good combination for this fishcake. The Ayrshire Lamb Rump with Pressed Lamb Belly, Kohlrabi and Samphire. For those of us that didn't know what Kohlrabi/Samphire are: Kohlrabi is in the family of the cabbage just with a round long stem and Samphire is a european pickled carrot. The lamb and lamb belly were excellent, no game in this dish. Just amazing tastes with a side of veggies. The Malbec we tried was amazing...One of the best ones I've had in awhile. Well balanced, not dry with Cherry, cocoa notes...yumm! Will definitely come back when I'm back in Scotland.

good wee chippy, has been there for years, ever since i can remember…read more there is always ques, but its always worth it, there fritters are the best ever!!!! good prices too. everything there is always nice and clean, they keep the place nice, and clean, the staff are always friendly, and always really helpful, even to give directions. about 15 mintues away from dundee united, and dundee football parks, nice little treat for on the way home from the football on a saturday. also its jsut off albert street, where there is a good few wee handy shops around.
