The service is the worst they messed up my very expensive jeans & instead of making it right they got mad when I clearly told the woman I wanted the same finishing. SIMPLY AMAZING! I came into the place in hopes for an amazing and quick alteration job. I brought in a pair of Levi jeans that were 32 in length to possibly get them down to 30. When I went to pick them up my the pants were no longer baggy and long which what I was hoping for. I believe this was the best alterations I've had in the past, I'm more than grateful. Poor service, poor organization and it seems that pricing fluctuates based on whether the person taking your item in likes you or not? I had a pair of jeans repaired, they said it would be a week, I went back a week and a few days later on my lunch break. They took about ten minutes before they said they couldn't find my jeans and then asked if I could back in a few days and they'd be ready. I went back today (another week later) and they couldn't find my jeans again (who knew piles of clothes in plastic bags in a closet wasn't a good method of keeping customer stuff sorted out?) and that they weren't done. I said i just want them back even if they aren't done yet because I'm done waiting. A few more minutes of searching and they found them and they were actually completed. So they lied to me when they said they weren't ready, they just didn't feel like finding them. I can't say as I'll ever give them my business again, I've had less awkward prostate exams and I really dislike being lied to. And the repair work on my jeans wasn't even a very good job, it looks like crap. read more

$5 to sew on a patch seemed pretty good. It was sewn on in the wrong place though and when I picked up my lab coat, it was crumpled up in a ball in the front window. Not a good experience. read more

Love this place but don't know the name of the woman I always go to. Since there are more than a few working there. Anyways the woman that I go to has altered a ton of my pants, even patched them, altered quite a bit of my bathing suits, high end shirts too, and even sweats that I love but were too big at the time. She has also fixed buttons on my clothing and made my bootcut pants, since that was the old fashion, into the skinny jean look. She does good work and for a good price. read more

The woman running Vicky's yesterday could not have been more pleasant or helpful. We came in with a pair of jeans to be shortened. I hoped we might get them back in a day. With a warm smile the seamstress agreed to do these in an hour!!! She did a perfect job for a price that is half of what we have paid elsewhere. This place is FANTASTIC! We will be back. read more

I had a bad experience here also. I wanted some patches sewed on my vest. First the lady sewed them on to High then I wanted her to move them down about 2" She couldn't understand and she wanted to sew the patches one on top of the other overlapping. She said she would have them done in 4 days. I came back and she couldn't find my vest then when she found the vest it had not been touched. She said come back tomorrow. When you tell a customer to come back a certain day to pick up your items they should be ready not thrown in a pile. No organization. I will use someone else next time. read more

If I could give this place a 0 stars I would. I have been a customer of Vickys alterations for almost 5 years now. Throughout these years I have even taken other friends and family members there. Giving her new customers and more business. I fully understand when business improves and gets more notice, the prices go up of course. But every time I went to get something altered the price was higher each time. Even for the most smallest thing. I started wondering what was going on, so I asked around and found out that she dose go up on price to some people but not al. Not the once she 'likes'. Even after I heard that, I still went back to give her a fair chance. I asked if she could take just 2 inches of from the length of my pants and she said it would be 14 dollars. And that it would be done in 2 days. I asked her why the price was so high and way last time to take some inches off she only charged me 12 dollar for 2 pair of pants. Her excuse was that they went up again with the price, and looks at a coworker and smiles. I come back the day after tomorrow and they couldn't find my pants. She asked me to come back later that day but I didn't have the time. So I went back the next day and when I asked for my pants she still couldn't find them at first and when she finally did they weren't even done. Not even touched. She asked me to come back later that day. And I did. They were done and i payed her but when she was going to hand me my pants I said thank you and she looked at me with a mad face saying 'aha. Bye' I hate this place. I can not express my feelings of how much I hate the workers and the fact that even beefing a loyal customer and time after time giving them more work they still would even give me a simple smile and your welcome back. I do NOT recommends this place to anybody. Look somewhere els, you will find better workers and much better price. read more

I went to this place to get some overalls hemmed it was really awkward when I walked in. One of the older seamstresses was sleeping and the other one that was there (Vicky) just looked up at me and didn't say anything. When I asked if she could hem my overalls and keep the original hem she asked what was so original about it and was very rude and asked if I was questioning her skills when all I wanted was to keep the original hem because I liked the stitching. Then when I went to pick my overalls up I handed them my ticket and they could not find them. The woman who was looking for the overalls asked vicky if she had done the overalls and she said no but she obviously had since I handed them to her myself. The woman at the register seemed to be very annoyed with me like if it wasn't a big deal that they had lost my overalls. Vicky did do a great job with the hem but I would not go back there since they're so disorganized and rude. read more

Great work,awkward service. I walked in and no one said a word to me. One woman sewing in front just looked at me. Man with kids that seemed like family hanging out just looked at me. I stood and smiled and waited a few minutes because I saw a woman in back. Woman came out from the back and helped me, she was nice. Said to come back for my pants the next day at the same time. She never gave me a tag. I came the next day with a friend who has been there before. She gave her stuff over and was given a tag and polite conversation. My pants were sitting in a pile not done so the woman did them in literally two minutes for me, which was great. They look perfect. Kind of a weird experience though. I'll try another place next time but would go back because the work was great. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I took in a jumpsuit to get it taken in, as it was too loose after loosing weight. I needed it for a party. I was measured and told it would be ready in 2 days. Well 2 days turned into 1 week. When I finally picked it up, I was charged $20, which I thought was pretty high. When I got home to try it on, it was extremely taken in, to the point where I could barely put it on. Not only that, but they even went as far as to cut inches off the hem so now it fit me short! I was so upset that I was charged $20 for a botched job. I went back and asked them if they could do anything to try and fix it as they had messed up. The lady that was there was actually very rude and mad that I went back and added more work to her. She took no accountability for her bad work, no apologies, and actually had the audacity to tell me that the reason why my jumpsuit wasn't fitting properly was because I gained weight!! Any girl would've gone off on her but I kept my cool and told her it was very unlikely I had gained any weight in a week and that still doesn't explain it fitting short! So she finally took the item to the back to see if she could "fix" it. While I waited feeling so dissatisfied with my experience, another customer walked in, an older gentleman. He was there to pick up his items that were supposed to be ready that day. The same lady that I had been dealing with, greeted him and told him his items weren't ready yet. To come back in a few days. The man was very upset and said he had been going back in every other day and he was tired of waiting for his items to be ready. So the lady then proceeds to tell the man his clothes weren't ready because of ME!! Yup! She said "I'm sorry! But this girl has been adding more work on my plate, or else I would have your items ready." So ridiculous! So of course the man wasn't having it and called BS. I finally got my jumpsuit back, still 1-2 sizes too small, and walked out feeling body shamed and disrespected. It was my first time using their service and it was definitely my last! I took a pair of pants that were too wide at the bottom and told the lady to cut two inches. When I went back the next day, I immediately see they're too narrow. I try them on, they're super tight. I compare them to another pair they fixed before, and I find out they cut too much, almost four inches. Needless to say, they're totally ruined. The lady offers no apology, in fact she is quite defensive and says it's my fault, that I should have left another pair to compare to. But I clearly told her to cut two inches, she even wrote it down. I don't want to sound racist, but it's almost like she was picking strawberries one day and she just said: I don't want to do this anymore, I want to be a professional seamstress. She buys a sewing machine the next day and pays the rent for a place downtown. Boom, she's a business woman now! But customer service is terrible, they make you feel like crap. I'm not coming back, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. But if you go, you'd be better off just borrowing the sewing machine from them and do the alteration yourself, you'll get a better result. I don't think they even know how to use a measuring tape. If it was a mistake, they should just accept it and apologize. read more
