Dental Hygienist Helen is the BEST. She's very thorough. Every time she cleans my teeth it feels like getting a semi-deep cleanning. She's very professional and guides you on how to open your mouth in a relaxed way. Helen has taught me how to open my mouth without using my cheek muscles and how there's really no need to open my mouth as wide as I thought. Thanks to Yelp, I've eaten all kinds of food from all over the place I would have never known about. Spicy food, sweet food, sticky food, stinky food, all types of food (even natto). So after all the eating and drinking, my brain tells me that I'm delirious, my stomach tells me that I'm full, and my bladder tells me that I really need to go pee. What does my teeth tell me? Go to the dentist! Luckily, I don't have to visit the dentist too often (knock on wood). But every 6 months, I head on over to Dr. Ge's office for a check-up and cleaning, and my teeth comes out good as new. The offices are convenient, the equipment isn't ancient, and they have some of the most comfortable leather chairs on earth. They could drill on my teeth all day and I'd be happy just sitting on those reclining chairs. They even have up-to-date magazines on cars and sports in the waiting room. I can't tell you how many times I've been in a waiting room only to find magazines from the 80's. The staff is always warm and friendly. The best part? A brand spankin' new toothbrush waiting for me when I leave, ready to clean my teeth for another 6 months of Yelping debauchery. read more

Been going here for a couple years and finally getting around to a review. HYGIENIST: When I first came here I hadn't had a teeth cleaning in a couple years and hadn't been taking care of my teeth. I had horrible stains that I could see in photos that the hygienist Helen took. I couldn't believe how bad it was. She worked super hard and long on my teeth and I don't recall it hurting. Then she showed me before and after photos. It was truly incredible. My teeth looked totally normal. Helen used to have an odd way of saying everything in 3s like "thank you, thank you, thank you", but I didn't care because she totally rocked. Someone must have mentioned something to her because she doesn't really do it any more. She is the nicest person anyway. DENTIST: Dr. Ge is really gentle. I like her soft voice and calm manner. Her assistant is the same way. There's nothing worse than having your mouth open with a dentist who talks too loudly. My previous dentist removed an amalgam filling with no dam to prevent mercury from going down my throat. He used a vacuum but that's not how it's supposed to be done. Dr. Ge uses a dam. I tried the do-at-home teeth whitening solution (NOT Zoom, which is done by a dentist). It didn't do anything for me and was way too painful. Since Dr. Ge doesn't manufacture the solution, I don't think I can fault her for its ineffectiveness. OFFICE: One thing I look for in my health providers is how they run their office. If there are a lot of administrative staff, it tells me they probably are not very efficient. Dr. Ge has one office staff named Debbie, who is great. I also look for an office that doesn't cram people in. I never feel rushed with Dr. Ge. She always takes time to explain things. One of the best dental experiences in town. I was in search of a new dentist and a friend recommended Dr. Ge. Her staff is VERY friendly and the office is clean. They provide digital x-rays here. The equipment is up-to-date. Her (Russian?) hygienist is SUPER thorough and nice. She talked me through the whole cleaning and was completely professional. I felt like I was in good hands. I went to visit her this past Tuesday and it was kind of difficult finding her office. It is inside a bigger medical/dental office and there is no sign saying that her office is inside. Anyways, the office is small but clean and very modern. Receptionist was nice and she gave me directions when I got lost getting to their office. She gave me paperwork to fill out since it was my first time there. I waited for about 10 mins before I was taken back into one of the rooms. The dental hygienist was nice and she took care of me for most of my appointment. The technology they used was very up-to-date. Digital x-rays and they took pictures of the cavities (Yes, I have a lot...) so I could see them. She did the cleaning. It was good but nothing to be praised about. She always kept on telling me to relax and calm down. I was fine...like really- I'm not a kid. I can deal with pain and she was overwhelming....She talked to me like I was a kid too. Very repetitive in her words and kind of annoying. Anyways, this is me nit-picking. They are nice and Dr. Ge was really friendly. She told me what I could do to get rid of my ugly silver fillings and get fillings to match my tooth color. I left with a nice goodie bag. Overall, they did a good job but it wasn't a 5-star rating. Dr. Ge and staff are amazing! I had recently had a dental emergency that had to be taken care of immediately. Racing against some deadlines with my insurance, Debbie was able to schedule me in very quickly. It had been a while since my last visit (which was bad on my part, I know) but Dr. Ge was able to take care of my tooth, and even extra work within a timely manner. Susan and the hygienist were great too. Never did I feel any pain or uncomfortability. The entire staff is welcoming and cheerful (and I had actually wished that I came here as a child, because my dentist/staff growing up were not as pleasant-- which can be a traumatizing experience for a kid haha). When I moved to Irvine back in 2005 I was looking for a dentist and happened to find out about Dr. Ge. I have been going to her ever since - over 11 years - and would not trust anyone else with my teeth! When my wife went to a different dentist who started to recommend cosmetic dentistry at every visit, she came back to Dr. Ge and agreed that she was as professional and trustworthy as dentists get. I've been a patient of Dr. Ge's for around five years now and I have been very happy with the office. As a another reviewer noted, Helen is an excellent hygenist who does very thorough, efficient, and best of all, painless work! Dr. Ge has always been very accommodating as well in dental emergencies going above and beyond to make sure everything is okay. Dr. Ge has been my dentist for over 5 years. I drive all the way from Rancho Cucamonga for my appointments. Everyone is always like, "Your dentist is where?!" Debbie at the front desk is super awesome!! She has always given me priority appointments since I drive so far. I'm a loyal patient if I'm treated well. The customer service is top notch!! The office is state of the art and all staff are always very nice and professional. I was referred to Dr Ge from my beloved dentist when I moved from The Bay to LA. I'm super lucky!! I have been very satisfied. It's hard to find good doctors AND a good office staff. I'm going to miss them when I move to Seattle:/ If you need a dentist, go here because you won't be disappointed. I came in for a routine teeth cleaning and ended up doing two rounds of "deep" cleaning, and had recommendations to fill two very small... "possible" cavities. I will likely come back in a few months for a follow-up. PROS - Extremely prompt, quick, efficient, and customized service. The receptionist had my information ready when I came in, as soon as i finished putting the period on the last sentence the door was ready and Helen the hygienist was ready to take me in for my teeth cleaning. - Helen is awesome. Another Yelp user already mentioned this, but she can really take a rather uncomfortable teeth cleaning situation and reassure you throughout the entire procedure. Very thorough, took her time. - I was able to have my entire teeth cleaning done during my lunch hour. CONS - It's been a while since I've had a teeth cleaning, but the bill is definitely not cheap. The teeth cleaning, plus two rounds of "deep" cleaning would have normally cost almost $500 without insurance. The receptionist checks your insurance prior to any procedure, because trust me, you'll need it coming here. - This is ultimately a business they're running, and I did feel they were trying to sell me ancillary services that might or might not have been necessary. I was recommended a "deep" cleaning, even though they also said I only needed the mildest "deep" cleaning... ultimately it was still a deep cleaning fee. - They know insurance only covers two cleanings per year, but Dr. Ge recommended that I come back in 4 months for another cleaning at full price... uh... really? Is this normal? Should I just come here to brush my teeth too? - They are not open Fridays and one Saturday per month (These appointments fill up fast, so you will need to make the appointment a few months in advance) NOTE - Not too easy to find their office. Their location is on the first floor, when you walk in the main entrance pass the elevators till you hit the end of the walk way, and their office is the first door on the left. OVERALL - The pros outweigh the cons. Helen is awesome, I will be back (in six months) and we'll see where things go from there. read more

Dr. Vickie Ge staff are wonderful. The front receptionist is great and Dr. Ge is good dentist. My disappointment with Dr Ge is that she recommended that I take my silver filings out of six silver flings that I had and I listened to her recommendation. To my disappointment when I switched dentist, I found out there are still silver residues in two teeth that were supposed to be fully removed. Nevertheless I am very disappointed on her not giving 100% on what was her recommendation on taking the silver filing out of the teeth. read more

I had always loved going to the dentist's office until I went to her. She hurt my teeth terribly. She keeps telling you that something is wrong so she can charge you and make her money. For instance, she told me I needed "several fillings" for cavities I did not have. I have since gone to a different dentist who said my teeth are fine. The receptionist is horrible and rude too. She had told me my appt was for a certain time on a Monday. When I called before I was coming in, she told me it was for an earlier time and hung up. Please avoid this office. read more

I've been coming to Dr. Ge's office for over 4 years (WOW!) now and it's always been great. The first time I came here I was surprised how technological advanced this place was compared to my last few dentists. They have x-ray machines in EACH room and the results are instantly shown on the computer screen. It's also great that I've had the same dental hygienist (Yelena?) every 6 months I've gone. This makes for a nice familiarity every time I go. She's always extremely friendly and accommodating and I've never felt she's done a reckless job while cleaning my teeth. Another great thing about this place is there's hardly ever a wait (considering you're on time). I don't think I've ever waited more than 5 minutes in the waiting room and have only seen at most 1 other person in the waiting room with me before. I've referred at least 3 of my co-workers here as well. Luckily for me, I've never had cavities or any other major issues with my teeth while I've been here, so I can't really comment on major services, but I'm pretty sure they would take great of you nonetheless. read more

My experience with Dr. Ge was great. I had four veneers and three crowns done on my front teeth and was so pleased with the results. My smile went from one that you could tell had crowns to a perfect set of natural looking teeth. It has really given me a new confidence. The staff was really friendly and put me at ease. They were able to schedule appointments that fit my schedule and didn't make it a drawn out process. I've seen other people who have had the same work done and their teeth look false. I am not going to lie I have always been one of those people that just uses Yelp's services and never leaves comments for other people. After coming across Dr. Vickie Ge's office on Yelp (I didn't even think to search for dentist offices here) I am a changed yelper. I had to sign up to leave a comment so that everyone can know what I great place this is. Dr. Ge's office has changed my whole view about dentists!!! In the past, I have always had problems with my teeth and been super scared of the dentist. I even have a very low tolerance for pain. Dr. Ge's office is AMAZING. Her office is very clean and she has dental equipment that is top notch. Her staff is very friendly and informative. They really know what they are doing. Dr. Ge is very professional and knowledgeable. She told me exactly want I needed to take care of and didn't add other useless things (which I have had done to me before by other places). She explained my treatment in detail and best of all did it in a way that I can understand. Everyone in her office makes you feel very comfortable and is always willing to answer any of your questions. For example, her hygienist was so wonderful. She was very thorough with my teeth cleaning and I swear that "clean feeling" lasted for more than a day, unlike other places I been too. She really takes the time to clean everything and doesn't rush. Their whole office seems to pride themselves on what they do. It doesn't feel like you are at a dental office, it feels like you are at a beauty spa and being taken care of. I have been going to her office for awhile now and I have no more pain but instead I have pretty and (most important) healthy teeth which also means no more stress. I am currently seeing Dr. Ge as a client for the Invisalign invisible braces. Every month I have to go in to get my new set of trays and I'm never worried when I go in. The office is very neat and clean and calming so I don't have that nervous feeling I usually do when I go to the dentist. I am always greeted with a welcoming smile by the receptionist when I walk in. Once I'm finally in the chair being worked on I can honestly say that even though I'm just getting fitted for something as simple as invisible braces, I am more than confident that Dr. Ge is very thorough and her staff is very knowledgeable in what they are doing.
