It was really nice and very busy, with a good variety of stores and restaurants. From what I learned, they also host a lot of pop-up events, which I think is pretty cool.

However, I decided to just kill some time and go into few of their department stores that they have before my meeting with a potential client that was scheduled for 5pm. This is a HUGE 2 story mall with escalators and elevators operating just fine. With clean restrooms, stores, and great service. I went into Macy's and was looking for an outfit to buy for an upcoming wedding. Looked around, but couldn't find anything that captured my eye/attention. Later, went to Zara, one of their most iconic, expensive stores. They have many stores from Bloomingdales, to Macy's to Nordstrom, Louis Vuitton, Sephora, Diesel, Roberto Cavalli, Bath & Body Works, Tiffany & Company, and a lot more. Just to name a few. All associates that I dealt with were very helpful, nice and professional. They no longer have the big Food court. They do have sporadic snack shops inside, but there are a few restaurants on the ground floor, such as H&H Steakhouse, Nicolas Eatery, and ABSteak. Some chain spots such as Starbucks and Wetzel's Pretzel are also available. Parking surprised me with their fair prices. They have a parking garage, rates are very inexpensive and affordable. While it was great to see only two empty storefronts, most businesses sell overpriced to super overpriced products to stay afloat. The mall is dated-looking, with a defunct water fountain, but the open second floor bathed in natural sunlight gives off soothing, chill vibes. The food court has about 9 places, mostly Korean but also a Vietnamese and Japanese katsu options. We ate fresh bi bim naeng myun (very chewy buckwheat noodles), ja jang myun (chewy noodles with black bean sauce and a nice amount of minced beef or pork), and fish cake on a skewer. Some places charge for a to go container and the cranky employee at the naeng myun place (the name's only in Korean, Kang San Myun Ok, refused to sell me to go in separate containers. Excuse me for wanting to separate the chewy noodles from the broth, as the noodles will lose elasticity from a long drive. The food court had many televisions broadcasting a World Cup match. There eating area is spacious with tables are cleared and wiped quickly. The outdoor dining are was closed the day we went. The supermarket is huge, organized and has the viral fruit-shaped ice cream that I adore, for $4.99 each. There's a Cake House bakery with mildly sweet Asian pastries and hot beverages. Their cakes are very expensive and beautiful. Cake slices are also sold. The mall has women's clothes, skin care, a bank, bookstore, children's toys, handbags and jewelry, and knick-knacks or collectibles. There's even a flower shop on a parking level right by the supermarket entrance. We were surprised to spend about 4 hours there. It's easy to spend a lot of time here as the parking is free! My excuse to come back here was when I found out through the We Like LA website that there would be a cat themed event. I made sure to check Google Maps ahead of time to see where to park and was glad to see there was underground parking. In addition, I was able to park for free for the first 2 hours because the info booth at the event gave out validation tickets. Just make sure to put your actual ticket in first, then the validation ticket. I know the garage at Ovation does it in the reverse order, so I ended up struggling at the gate for a while just like the driver ahead of me. When I walked up the stairs, I could immediately hear the crowds of people and saw a long line to pet the cats provided by Kitty of Angels, but first I wanted to see what merchandise was there, so I spent a few minutes visiting the tables before finally getting in line. I think I spent an hour waiting only to spend 7 mins. petting the cats. I thought I'd have more time to at least see the new restaurants and shops at the complex, but then my 2 hours of free parking would've been up. I ended up leaving immediately after petting the cats and noticed that the family who were in line behind me did the same thing. As far as festivals go, this was in its infancy. There weren't that many merchandise tables, the food and restrooms were whatever was onsite, and the event was only 2 hours. I think it was for the sake of the cats. Be careful with the security guard don't know which one was on shift but it happened 07/31/2024…read morearound 5:40am I work with a cargo van and my gf comes along so I came here after my shift to go to the gym while my gf took a nap on the cargo area inside the van and not even 5 minutes later she calls me because the security guard was banging on the door screaming at her to wake up, because it is a "strict no sleeping zone" with no signs anywere to be seen saying that that is a rule, there is however a no overnight parking sign but we were there no more than 5 minutes before him peeking inside the cargo area of the van for no reason because she wasn't even visible from the time i was driving inside the parking lot and he also managed to leave a small scratch at the door he was banging probably with his gold car keys 20 minutes later I see a different guard when I explained he just said he would let him know but that the guard was probably just doing his job
