Probably one of the most amazing restaurants I've been to so far in my life. This restaurant has some of the most amazing views. Granted it's a hike to get to the top, but the food and views make it worth it. The wine list is extensive and the recommended wines were off the charts. Portugal has some amazing wines but I do not know much about them, so I always ask for recommendations. The service was amazing, our glasses never went dry and empty plates were picked up as soon as we were finished. I wish I could give this place 10 stars. If you're ever in Lisbon, this place is a must try.

Unbelievable experience! This is definitely a special occasion restaurant and is worth every penny.

We chose to spend 2017-2018 New Year's Eve there. One of the best views of the city, all tables overlook the castle and decorated rooftops of Lisbon. We whose the tasting menu, each dish accompanied by wine. We started with an amazing crab soup, the fish dish was cod and meat dish was beef in a pastry. All well cooked and impeccably presented. Wine pairings were appropriate, smooth and well matched to the dishes. We finished our meals with 10-year tawny port wine, champagne and traditional pastries for the holidays. (See photos for water mouthing visuals...) At the end of the night, we had the chance to meet with the owners. Absolutely lovely individuals, with love for good food and wine. Adventurous and traditional, a philosophy that is reflected on their food. They made sure all their guests had a wonderful time, and we were delighted to start 2018 on a positive note, with exquisite food, great wine and fun conversation, enjoying the fireworks of Lisbon. Happy new year!!

This restaurant needs more hype! When we first got here, we thought their entrance were somewhere at the bottom and had to take a lift for the restaurant to get the view. Didn't know they just open at 19:00 for dinner, they just need to fix their hours online/Google. We were greeted by a lovely host and seated us. Our view was spectacular at night, our iPhone cameras didn't have the capabilities to capture the view at night without having the glare from the mirror, but that's ok it's in our memories. We first asked for water since it was a hike to get here, I refused to get an Uber since I thought it was walkable. Menu in English follows after Portuguese. Ordered a starter/share, was bread with diff spread, we loved their crab pate - so delicious. Then we also had tiger prawns, my husband loved it since it had the fat. For our main, I had the sea bass with rice, yummy. My husband had the foie gras with steak, another delicious meal. Then for desert, we opt for the warning desert which tasted like s'mores without the chocolate, it was really good. For cocktails, we asked the wait what he recommends or what he likes to drink from the bar, he came out with whiskey sour with white eggs- it compliments the whiskey taste. It was so good! Then 2nd cocktails was so refreshing, it was rum with pomegranate. So so good!

Skyline from Lisbon with a close at Castelo de Sao Jorge - the best!!!

Pastries de Bacalhau - the crust was not brown enough. May be longer time. The stuffing was flavorful but it's more the cod taste than the flavored mash potatoes which I prefer. I actually prefer the other local restaurant I tried the night before better. Caldo Verde - The potatoe part of the soup is great. Perfect viscosity but the flavor is not. It wasn't salty enough but more importantly is the flavor of the veggies and the spicy sausage they supposed to use that makes the soup taste different. Grilled giant pawns - The flavor of the prawns is not as intense as expected and hope to be. The squid ink pasta also lacked of flavor. That's disappointing. With the prawns, they should at least use the prawn shell to make sauce for the pastas. The pasta was tasteless, didn't even use enough garlic and olive oil to flavor it up. Seafood rice - Another disappointment. They used fish, small mussels and little bit of shrimp pieces along with some bigger whole shrimps and mussels. However, the rice was lack of the true seafood flavor that made from shell fish. They also added cilantro which overwhelmed the whatever left of seafood flavor. The lemonade was not a sweet lemonade but sour. Fyi. It's not fair we just went to another restaurant in the neighborhood and everything was so much better but people should know.

It's rotisserie chicken doused with a spicy hot sauce so what's not to like? I knew it was a Portuguese-originated dish, so I looked for a place famous for it. Here on a Sunday evening, there was quite a queue extending up the cobblestone alley, so I realized this must be the place. Although it was at least thirty people deep, it didn't take more than twenty minutes for Jamie W and me to secure a table upstairs. It was a homestyle dining room set-up that hovered between cozy and crowded depending on the fluctuating volume level. Interestingly all the servers were male, and while ours was the most junior, he consciously followed the behavior of his veteran brethren. There was no question about our main course, the 13,5€ Frango Assado No Espeto (Roast Chicken on the Spit) (Photo 7). It was tender and succulent enough albeit a bit under seasoned, all the more reason to pour a liberal dose of the piri piri sauce (Photo 8). Our sides were simple but shareable, the 3,2€ Batata Fritta (French Fries) (Photo 9) and the 4,3€ Salada Mista (Mixed Salad) (Photo 10). Both were fine, though we really wanted to try their Cream Spinach. They were already out of it in the kitchen. We were quite satisfied nonetheless, and their service pretty much worked like clockwork. Jamie and I agreed we'd definitely come back if the passion for poultry strikes us on a return trip to Lisbon. In the meanwhile, I'll just do a run to Costco, buy a rotisserie chicken, and dream of Portugal. We had reservations for a party of 2 on a Saturday at 6 PM. When you check in, they give you a slip of paper which has a QR code on it for you to access the menu later, and we were promptly seated upstairs. The menu is conveniently available in several languages (you select your language at the bottom of the main menu page). We were at a long table for 6, with us sitting on the inside and another couple sitting at the end, and the table settings in between us were cleared, so it didn't feel like we were on top of one another. I appreciated that the server gave recommendations that would be good for two people. We went with most of his recommendations (shrimps on garlic sauce (it's labeled as spicy, but it's really not), clams on garlic, tiger prawns grilled on bed of salt) and added some of our own (razor clams and lobster roll). All the seafood tasted fresh, bursting with flavor from the buttery garlic sauce, which we sopped up with garlic bread. The bread is brought to the table when you first get seated. It's not free, which I was aware of, but I knew it would go well with the dishes we ordered. The razor clams were juicy and sweet. The lobster roll was good, but not something I would order again when there's so many other fantastic seafood choices. I usually don't drink beer, but felt that it was appropriate since we were at a cervejaria, so I ordered a bottle of Sagres Bohemia. It went perfectly with the seafood. My SO, who doesn't drink alcohol, got peach iced tea. I wanted to get the prego sandwich for dessert, but my SO was pretty much full at that point, so I ordered a tarte whisky and a cappuccino for myself. The whisky ice cream layer in the tarte was nice and refreshing. I was shocked when we got the bill and it came out to less than 50€. This meal would have cost so much more in the US. You pay via tablet at the end and I left a generous tip in appreciation of the wonderful meal and service. They get you in and out of there quick, but it never felt like we were being rushed out. I highly recommend this spot if you are looking for some fresh, delicious seafood in Lisbon.
