Snickers cake - yum yum yum!
    Marlene F.

Been here several times and have not been disappointed with their cakes and gelato. when i am craving for a good slice of cake, I have always found something here that hits the spot. Service is a little hit and miss though, wouldn't hurt if their staff could be a bit more friendly and have a bit of speed.

    Gelato!

Looking for amazing gelato! With having to many flavours to choose from ? This is the place for you! I had a double scoop of gelato, baileys( and it tasted like the real things) and kinder surprise! My sisters had mango and kinder surprise, And cookies and cream/ raspberries. Yum! All for $7 each! This place in the middle of the Westfield food court is swarmed like it's a golden beehive. And it's people like you and me that make up the bees. Circling around this little sweet treat spot is a selection of delectable bite-sized desserts in glass box displays. In one box a selection of fun coloured macaroons, in another French pastries and chocolate and cream layered desserts. Round the other end they have a huge selection of gelato, it's almost not fair to have to make a choice. They take advantage of all the yummiest flavours and combinations - I love the rocher or sneakers or peanut butter flavour, but the lychee, green apple or coconut is refreshing and sweet too. They take advantage of your wallet and the fact that you really shouldn't have dessert because you're already full. A single scoop comes at a pricey $5. What lets this place down is their customer service. It was absolutely appalling. The lady that served me obviously didn't want to be there. She looked bored, angry and annoyed and all at the same time. They need to train their staff to deal with customers better or replace her. It's just not a good look to have a dessert place served by someone who's sour.

Via Del Corso is located at the Westfield Sydney Mall located on Pitt Street. This review is for the TARO flavored gelato, which was amazing! I also got the Thai Tea gelato; it was good, but didn't blow me away. I appreciated how they had a variety of traditionally Asian flavors like sticky rice, Thai tea, taro, and black sesame. *Note on seating: they have about 4 bar stools specifically reserved for Via Del Corso.

Via del Corso is a Pasticceria e caffe in Westfield's Pitt St Mall food court area. Centrally located, at the top of the escalator, it is easy to find. Grab a table and order at the counter and your food is really almost instantaneously. They do have danishes, Italian doughnuts, croissants and muffins for those who are in the city at breakfast time and paninis for lunch. However I'm sure more people want to check out the superb dessert list! There's an array of crepes, served with cream and gelato that might whip your fancy, and the salted caramel and ricotta or banana snickers look insane. Some absolutely crazy gelato bowls or gelato doughnuts are on offer, so make sure you go with empty bellies! We had an assortment of macarons including Matcha, fairy bread, strawberry and blueberry. We even got the Macaroncino of a Nutella macchiato topped with crushed cookies and a macaron dunked on top. The drinks are certainly an instagrammers dream. Nutellino (thick Nutella hot choc), macchiatos in cones or Cremoso (with whipped cream on top), amongst many others are on offer. Make sure to try the doughnut shake, where your milkshake comes roped with a huge doughnut. We got coffee and a chai latte, but there's also tea and cold drinks if that's what you prefer. They sell a number of amazingly prepared patisserie foods and we tried the strawberry tart, of beautiful soft pastry and strawberries. Not only this, we accompanied our drinks with an assortment of mini chocolates like chilli, cappuccino, coconut rough and caramel. You can also purchase these as gifts. This place isn't expensive and perfect for a break whilst you shop.

I'm a foodie, NOT a shopper!…read more After walking around Sydney's CBD, we visited the famous Queen Victoria Building, a late 19th-century Romanesque Revival marketplace that is now a shopping mall filled with high-end boutiques and eateries. We crossed George Street to The Strand, where we were in search of the world-famous patisserie, Black Star Pastry. Although I don't use IG or FB, I heard about Black Star Pastry's Strawberry Watermelon Cake while reading an old New York Times article about this Australian patisserie, which declared this signature cake and most-requested cake as "The World's Most Instagrammed Cake." So, I made Black Star Pastry a destination during our pre-cruise stay in Sydney. We followed the directions posted on The Strand's directory to Black Star Pastry and ogled the artistically and attractively decorated cakes while zeroing in on the Strawberry Watermelon cake slices lined up next to the Raspberry Lychee and Mango Yuzu cake slices. Honestly, all of the cake slices looked lusciously delicious, but our taste buds were craving a refreshing slice of Strawberry Watermelon. We selected the cake slice, and the amicable countergirl neatly packaged it and asked if we needed eating utensils. Of course, we needed and wanted eating utensils as we dreamed about digging into the cake at their dining counter right away. My husband rushed me to finish taking photos, and he jabbed his fork into the tender yet juicy cake. Before I knew it, he unassembled the cake slice to reveal a fresh-cut slice of juicy, ripe, and sweet watermelon, light rose-scented cream, tender cake, and was topped with fragrant rose petals and fresh strawberries. He claimed it would be easier to eat because the cake slice was about 3" high and looked like it would've toppled when pierced from top to bottom. Yeah, it was HIS "thing" about eating this cake, I decided to take a bit of the top layer, then a small slice of the watermelon bottom layer together. It truly was refreshing, light, and not overly sugary. The lightness and flavors of this cake seemed like it might have been low-cal, but even if it wasn't, who cares when you're on vacation?!

This cafe deserve full star recommendation. I'm giving this…read morecafe 5 stars because: 1. The are famous for their cheese cake, and the pastry that I've tried today... it was out of this world. My Apple turn over was nicely glazed, sweet and slightly tanginess from the apple, which I assumed Granny Smith apple, cooked to perfections, still have a bite to it and ration between pastry and feeling, just right. 2. They served a good coffee, everything is just perfect, form the caffeine dosage through the perfect milk temperature. 3. Quick service, friendly and come with smile. Efficient service even though cafe was busy at 11.30pm, well done! Keep up good work guys!

I request to change another but all the staff (4 staff include the chef) insisted that it is the one and refused to do anything. Even the chef said it's normal to look like that!! Also the staff just took it in n out to show to their colleagues, finally they damaged all the edge of my cake and just repack it and pass to me. Also they just deleted my comment form Facebook. What a service ! They "USED TO BE" nice patisserie that I purchased for almost every celebration in the past. Don't buy Unless you expect the cake won't look the same as you order. Otherwise, never in the future.
