Nice store, however, quite expensive. I went to change a flat tire and they charged a lot more than other cycling stores

I went to buy a pair of Gatorskin tires for my Giant TCR2 today. When checking the address online, I saw that this location was up for lease. I inquired about this when the store opened up, and was called an asshole followed by several other negative remarks. This is a terrible way to treat a customer, irrespective of what is happening with relocation or business closing. The person I spoke with was so verbally abusive that I did not buy the tires and will never return to this store. read more

Bought my first road bike during the Covid lockdown. New to the sport JP and his crew were always informative and helpful with making sure I invested in the right hardware for my experience and body type. The bike fitting and endless advice from start to finish are bar none incomparable. Highly recommended. read more

I went into the store by chance today as I was in the area and found them on google. I had destroyed my rim and it needed to be replaced. They were super helpful and found a low cost option for me as I am not an avid cyclist. Store was super impressive and friendly knowledgeable staff were over the top great. I also bumped into a friend / neighbour there who raved about the team, products, and service. Long story short, it is worth the drive from Georgetown don't go anywhere else. Thanks guys. Great bicycle retailer. Lots of options for bikes and accessories. Highly recommend.

Went here a couple times for different reasons. Last year I asked the clerk for some information about gear cables and she admitted she didn't know anything about bikes or own a bike. Later, I came for a tune up/to get my brake pads and derailleurs adjusted. My bike got whisked away, and a few days later when I came back not only did the staff not take the time to tell me about what they'd done but they'd also charged me for a bottle of bike lube which I did not need nor ask for. I just went today into the store to get an inner tube because mine popped yesterday, and the store wasn't open. I waited till 10:15 (supposed to open at 10) and no one was there. It's too bad because I like supporting the community, but I've had too many bad experiences here to ever go again. read more

Best Bike Shop in the GTA. This is my first Yelp review, I've created an account just to review this store. I just got back from the shop after looking for a new bike for this season. It looks like a tiny shop in Streetsville, but once you enter, bikes stretch as far as the eye can see. Hardwood floors and warm colors make up the interior of the store. This is nothing like the department store-esque bike shops I'm familiar with. The store was empty, and the single staff member (Jean-Paul Tesolin) couldn't have been more friendly. I walked in there with a budget, and an idea of where I would be riding. I walked out with a couple bike models that would meet my requirements, and information on the best lock, and helmet to get. In terms of service, Via Ciclante provides Free fittings upon purchase of a bike, tailoring it to your specific needs. This is truly a shop build by bike enthusiasts, for bike enthusiasts. The no-pressure sales, and down-to-earth nature of the place makes it the best Bike shop in the GTA by far. read more

New to Mississauga, i needed a tire for my loved Dutch Bike. I went to this store after phoning to see if they could work on Dutch bikes because some don't. They stated no problem. Yes they sold me 2 tires and installed them for 170 dollars which i paid and left. I turned around and came right back because my gears were not working. The tech said oh the cable just popped out and said i was good now. The gears are still not working right and the store owner/manager called me impossible because i dare asked them to fix the issue. At the same time the tech suggested that maybe the bike came in that way (like i'm trying to get a free service) Please Dutch Bike owners heed the warning!!! These people are only interested in lycra wearing big spenders who pay without thinking and are not really full time cyclists. But i hear they are great for making money read more

I never give five stars to any company, so four is my best rating - perhaps in bike heaven. I have purchased two bikes from Via Ciclante in the past year and my experience was very positive. JP and staff are knowledgeable and friendly. If you have the time, they will walk you through what you need to know to make an informed decision. You will find an assortment of quality products for the decerning rider. If you are looking for trail bikes, Wednesday is a good day to talk to their resident trail rider and salesman. I would recommend this store to a friend. read more

I went to this bike store on a recommendation and I'm glad that I did. I dealt with JP who was fantastic, completely went above and beyond for me and didn't try to upsell me on anything! I'm a bit of an easy target when it comes to stores getting me to think I need something (hence why my husband generally has to be there to either bargain with them or convince me I don't need it, lol). I was looking for cycling shoes and since JP was busy, another salesperson helped me at first. She first showed me a pair of cycling shoes that were $330. I definitely did not want to spend that much. I won't be winning any triathlons in the near future (or ever) so I really don't need the newest and best shoes. The next pair she showed me were on sale for $250 - still too much and they were uncomfortable and hideous. She was so insistent that even just flat out saying no didn't work. I finally said they were not comfortable so she would drop it. Finally she got that I didn't want to spend that much and I was able to walk away with a great pair of tri shoes for a great price! When I was buying the water bottles and holders for my bike, again she tried to upsell me with the best bottles, etc. I thought she knew by this point that I wasn't looking to spend a fortune. Anyways, I got great cages and bottles for a good price -exactly what I needed. The only reason I gave this a four star is because I was there slightly beyond closing time while JP worked on my bike (literally 10 minutes) and she was so quick and rushed during the cash out, basically trying to shove me out the door. I understand that they were closed but there were still customers there and no one else was rushing. I thought maybe she had somewhere to go, but after I loaded my bike in the car, she was just standing outside smoking. Not the best customer service on her end. Regardless, I will undoubtedly return for my cycling needs. read more

Having just gotten back into cycling after many couch potato years I was googling around for a selection of bike stores. I knew of this shop as it is very local to me, but I have not been in it for years. The search results I found said it was very expensive and not to shop there. Well this is pure crap. In fact had I bought my Giant Roam 2 from them I would have saved $50 over what I paid at the other top cycle store in Mississauga. There prices are very much on par with others, and even cheaper with some items. Very knowledgeable staff and owners and an all round great place to shop. Don't take my word for it. Have a look for yourself. And no, I don't work for them or know them personally. Just my honest opinion and facts to counter what I found from my search on the web. I felt those comments to be simply unfair. read more

I've never received anything but first-class service here. Sure, they take their time but it's because they attempt to give each person individual attention. It might not be the best place for someone who's looking to compare prices with what's available in Canadian Tire; that's simply not their niche, but an enthusiast or someone new to cycling and eager to learn all about his or her choices will find this store to be welcoming, knowledgeable and reasonably-priced. read more

I spent time researching bikes for price, value and service. Price is a wash. Having worked in retail myself and learning the only thing most retailers have to sell is service it was an obvious choice. JP at Via Ciclante spend hours explaining different bikes and what to look for based on the needs I gave him. Never once trying to close the deal. After the purchase JP spent another 1 1/2 hours custom fitting the bike to suit my height and weight. I could not be happier. If I could I would give Via Ciclante and JP a 10. read more

My experience with this bike shop was horrible. I would not recommend them to anyone. They are great when you are looking to buy a bike from them but their after sales service is brutal. I took my bike in for a tune up and believe it or not they lost my bike. They told me they were having a hard time finding me a wheel that would fit my Bianchi. I ended up leaving my bike there for the whole winter. Spring comes around and still no call from these guys. Finally they told me they lost my bike some where. To top it off their store name had changed to Via Ciclante. Not once did these guys called me to let me know they lost my bike. I had to call them 5 to 6 times before I got hold of one of the owners. They said they would replace my bike with another in similar condition. So they found me a Miele which was a tad too small for me. And get this....they asked me to pay them $100 for their service since this replacement didn't have the wheel problem I had with my Bianchi, Holy smokes! I couldn't believe they had the nerve to ask me to pay them....for what?? For losing my bike and then go out and replace my bike that is too small for me????? Stay away from this store! read more

I have been a resident of Streetsville for 25 years and have been going to the shop for years. I bought my most valued road bike 3 years ago and was happy with the customer service at that time since I spent quite a bit of money for it. But...this did not last! I have gone back looking for bikes for my family and everytime, if I wasn't spending over $1000, there was lack of interest! I also have gone there to do yearly maintenance on a couple of bikes and always ended up walking out of there with over $100 for just a basic tune-up. The final straw was this week when I brought in my hybrid, a great Gary Fisher bike that I spent over $1,500, purchased 6 years ago, to have the brakes looked at. I was originally told would cost over $150 and was ready to pay that for such a good bike. Sadly, they called me a couple of days later and advised me that the bike was basically no good and should invest in another one as I would have to spend over $600 to get "Gary" repaired!!!! I have since taken it to a wonderful local gentleman who repairs all bikes and it is now pristine and back into it's great shape with new chain, new brake pads on my disc brakes, and total tune up and tire replacement for under $150!!! Sadly, I am never going back to Ciclante! This was the final straw. I used to get such an Awwwww moment when I walked it but for the past 3 years I have always left with that taken away :( read more

Way overpriced both products and service. Would never go back there again. Better off going to Toronto where they have the same products at 1/3 to 1/2 less at regular price! I had service done there, charged me ton of money for 5 minutes of work. They'll never have a long time customer base. Read other reviews on the web. Shop around, the drive will worth it. read more

im a novice to biking so decided to purchase a new bike, never did purchase from them even though they had the bike i wanted staff never even made an effort to say hello, weird cold people, not sure if retail is there thing! read more

I bought my bike from JP (the owner) and he was a slick as they come, lots of knowledge and eager to sell me an expensive bike. I spent more than $4000 on bike, pedals and rack. I have taken my bike in for service a couple times and the treatment is appalling! In the last instance they "repaired" my rear derailleur only to have the chain keep jumping off just like it did prior to service. When I brought it back in I was told that the derailleur now had to be replaced because the chain had broken it. To add insult to injury they wanted to charge me 50% more for the parts than any other bike shop and still wanted to charge to put it on! When I asked to speak with JP he totally blew me off and ignored me as he went to help other customers that arrived after me. These guys are all bout a slick presentation to sell bikes NOT about customer service! I will never go there again. I feel totally ripped off read more

JP is rude and dismissive. I've been dealing with this shop for almost 18 years. I only go out of convenience bc they're close and have a good selection of parts. I've never bought a bike from them mainly bc big money should go to a good shop, so I travel when I want a new bike. I've bought at least 7 bikes over the years and with upgrades spent an average of $7000 per bike. That's how much I would have spent there... Instead I've only bought some outerwear and spare tires and cheap parts... They never give deals and on more than a few occasions I've been declined matched market pricing where all other shops were within a reasonable margin of their prices. The rest of the newer team is very helpful and JP's brother is good to deal with when he shows up for work but overall it's never really been a good experience. I'm not the only one that feels this way as my friends and fellow riders all agree. 1 star for the newer staff. read more
