    Spinach and ricotta ravioli

A great spot for lunch after a walk around the city. Traditional Sunday lunch in Siena is spinach ricotta ravioli so we had to have it especially since the chef/owner had made it that day. The views from the patio are incredible.

The place is beautiful, no doubt. Food was - compared with the "average" that you get in Italy - really bad. The papardelle overcooked, the tagliate undercooked and not the best meat quality. Upon request, only one ossobucco was left - really? Most irritating, though, tons of personnel, at least 5 waiters for 20 tables or so (nobody dines inside), but still: empty glasses and cans stay on the table, no active waitering (no "Would you like something else?"). There are much better places to dine in Siena.

Under all that wonderful salad and parmesan was a perfectly cooked Tuscan Steak.

Very good service, delicious food, with an Amazing view. The wine choices were great. I had The Sliced Tuscan Beef, Fresh mixed Salad, and the Soup of the Day. I will return to have The Marinated Salmon with Sea Salt, Dill, and Passion Fruit Coulis.

Food was absolutely delicious and the view was spectacular. The staff was so lovely, service was a little slow, but with such good food, I didn't mind!

Beautiful setting to enjoy lunch and a cocktail. Amazing views of the scenery, complimented with great food. We enjoyed lunch here one day. Even though there was a little bit of drizzle, they have nice umbrellas that kept us dry. We shared several appetizers, including the Fig salad and the prosciutto. The prosciutto and melon was amazing! The favorite thing I ate that day. I got the orecchette with pesto sauce as my entree. It was flavorful, but if I came back I would likely share it with someone and get a regular main. Several people got the gnocchi, and they said it was delicious but quite heavy in the cream sauce. Beautiful place to relax, I definitely recommend coming here.

The food and service were very good. We were a bit disappointed at first when we were told there were no tables available because they were booked, and actually they were bever filled! But we sat on the terrace, abd even though it was raining, lunch was great. The wine was good, but the list could be better. Antipasto and food were tasty and in good portions.

This place is perfect for lunchtime under the Tuscan sun. Rosé + wild boar pasta and a fresh salad along with an incredible view and it doesn't get much better than this. Service was also excellent and there was great variety on the menu. If I was here for longer than 2 days, I'd come here again. Yum!

My pasta with mushroom truffle sauce. Wow!

Stopped at ViVace tonight for dinner. The door was open and it looked setup, but waiter said they are closed the last Monday of the month.

Great happy hour of a drink and prosciutto and mozzarella bar, on beautiful back patio overlooking a green valley.

Taverna di San Giuseppe is a very well oiled machine. Reservations are a must (recommend booking…read morethrough your hotel/walking in and requesting a reservation for next day) but the atmosphere is well worth it. Every server is serving you and the owners are incredibly attentive. Meals are stepped out in a way that has you receiving each dish with ample time to enjoy. The tiramisu was to die for and the invitation to explore the wine cellar afterwards was a treat. Well worth it!!

Taverna di San Giuseppe was a disappointing meal for us, especially in a city with so many great…read moredining options. We ended up here by mistake (confused it with another spot), and unfortunately it didn't live up to expectations. The restaurant fills up with reservations for two seatings, and from the moment we sat down the pace felt rushed. We ordered drinks and a starter while deciding on the rest, but multiple staff members kept coming by trying to take our full order. It felt like they were pushing to move things along quickly. There were a couple positives. The chicken livers to start were quite tasty and something we didn't see often on other menus. The primi were underwhelming. The pasta didn't taste fresh like many other trattorias in Siena, and the dishes overall were just average. The lasagna in particular was mushy, and the sauces didn't stand out. The secondi were slightly better -- pork ribs, Barolo-braised beef, and a "small chicken" -- but still nothing that justified the higher prices. They do have an underground wine cellar built into a cave, which is interesting to see, but there are other places in Siena with much larger and more impressive cellar spaces. Also worth noting, they add a "10% tax" charge rather than the typical €2 coperto per person. Overall, a rushed and fairly mediocre meal at a higher price point. With so many better places to eat in Siena, this is one I'd skip.
