Took my son to see Dr. Cohan for a sports knee injury. After x-ray, Dr. Cohan did not see anything…read moreand told me my son was fine, refusing to order an MRI as I requested. He told me if I wanted an MRI I should go pay for it as there was 'no reason' for him to order one. He told us to come back if the knee was still painful and swollen. After 3 months, we contacted him again for follow up as there was still pain and swelling. At that time, his staff gave me the complete runaround on a follow up appointment, even after I explained the situation and Dr. Cohan's instructions. He was 'too busy' to look at our case and respond. After a week and a half, finally after several more phone calls made to his clinic, they told me that he would not see us, and that we will need to find another doctor at another clinic to do the follow up. No real explanation for that other than 'he is only seeing his regular patients'. However, the clinic website currently STILL shows it is 'a walk in clinic that accepts new patients'. Fast forward several months, we finally are able to get an MRI and my son has an ACL tear and things look to be in pretty poor shape. This doctor is dismissive, rude, and not interested in the wellness of patients. His negligence delayed my son's treatment and recovery by 7 months. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone! If you are not interested in helping patients, perhaps you are in the wrong business! I would not trust this doctor and would recommend going elsewhere.

The doctors at this location handpick the clients that they want to help. It is stated that they take walk-ins, but apparently it's only over the phone. I called to register my number for an appointment call back, and I initially repeated my number 5 times for the receptionist. After I gave her my number after 5 times, I was told I would get a call within an hour...... 6 hours later, I still get no calls. So I called back to the receptionist and she told me the Doctor had already called me, but I never received any missed calls. So then the receptionist said they got my number wrong accidentally, and she had made a mistake in the sequence with only a digit off the correct number. So then she made the "correction" and said I should expect a call really soon from the doctor. And I still never got a call back. This is the type of experience you will get when you go to a Persian run health clinic. I do not recommend, I've seen worse clinics in Mumbai that's better than this place. Please don't waste your time going here

In the past five years with this practice I have experienced -being sent to specialists without my medical information being sent to them therefore making my appointment useless as the specialist only knew my name. -being sent to a specialist that was confused about my appearance there as their practice was not in the part of the body that was experiencing the issue -being sent to a specialist but booked for the wrong procedure despite detailed instructions on what was desired and clarification or the Physician's understanding before booking -every in person appointment being 1-1 1/2 hours past the appointment time with appointments lasting roughly 3 minutes -on every occasion testing was done results were not conveyed to me without myself calling them to find out. Regardless of whether the results should have led to medication and health procedures. -phone appointments being avoided by the practitioner by calling a minimum of 30minutes past the appointment time and if that single call is missed requiring the call to be rescheduled for a later date. If you have any other options avoid the frustration.

Beyond the fact that one can access gratis medical visits--thanks, Canada!--this clinic is a 'clean, well-lighted' & welcoming space for women from all social strata. My visit with the RN began ten minutes after my 10.30 appt. time. The client just before me had left at about a quarter past the hour. Be prepared to wait a bit, I guess. Not used to not having to pay for every little thing regarding health care, I was compelled to make a financial donation after my visit as both a thank-you & a way to support what is a very necessary women's institution. When I inquired, I was told that the collective would gladly accept a donation of women's clothing. Preferring to make a monetary donation, I was sent to chat with the clinic's director. PayPal would be the way to go, if one is so inclined.

If you're a woman looking for a walk-in clinic in the area, I highly recommend them.

However when I did finally see the doctor, she was very emphatic and seemed to take the time to hear my symptoms and concerns. It is only she who raised this one star experience to four. Here's why: I arrived at the stein walk in clinic on burrard to find no other people waiting. Filling out the most basic intake form ever I was made to show my care card even though she didn't even look at it. She then offered a 3pm appointment to which I replied that didn't work for me as I need to be in west van at 3:30pm. She then looked at the pathetic intake form and noted my care card number and suggested I walk to their OTHER location on Dunsmuir for a 1:10pm appointment. So I do. Upon arriving two people are there, fill forms and leave. I advise what the other person said and this gal tries to get me to re-complete said intake form. I ask that she call since it feels her approach is disbelief so she does and here I sit for the hour waiting. I checked out their website. They offer to *fast track* for $40 (?!!!) on their website to which I feel is poor personal taste. The front desk gal was dressed in a hockey jersey and seemed to lack medical professionalism in her manner and lack of attention. I didn't care she as wearing a jersey - go Canucks - I just wanted to feel better sooner and hopefully within my own time restraints. Not terribly optimistic at that point. Now seated in the patient room and it's very stark. Looks like prison met ikea on design. Very not-homy. After seeing the doctor etc it finally occurred to me unlike a usual clinic where all us sickies accumulate there in sight, this office lines patients up like ducks to be called back with approximate appointment times. Different than what I'm used to for sure.

If it weren't for my back being in immense pain and this being the closest walk in clinic in my area and my family doctor being completely booked for the month, I may not have gone based off of the reviews, however I am very glad that I did go. My experience is mine only and I know when people are stressed and distraught that emotions can be quite high and sensitive and I would feel the exact same way if my needs weren't met but given my visit today I was very pleased with the service that I received from both the reception (3 employees I think one was being trained) and Dr. Khangura. The staff that were working today were very kind and clear with me as I was a new patient. They all wore masks and took each patient's temperature. I waited around 20 minutes before the doctor saw me as they were previous appointments ahead of me which didn't bother me as I knew I was going for a walk in versus scheduling an actual appointment. The doctor was very kind and patient with me which I really appreciated because I was in great pain. She took the time to explain things with me and I didn't feel rushed at all during my visit. In all honesty, if I didn't already have a wonderful family doctor I would probably want to get her as mine because of how attentive and calm she was. I think empathy goes along way and having a medical practitioner that cares is often, unfortunately, uncommon and should be really valued. I will also note that while I was waiting to see the doctor another individual had come by to drop off Christmas gifts for the reception staff and the doctor which was quite nice to see. I also overheard a phone call from one of the reception staff and it was very warming to me to hear how personable and friendly he was with her.
