There was a live band (the reason we sought out this place) and they charge a $5/pp cover charge. Their menu is basic bar food - mozzarella sticks, burgers, poppers, fries, etc. (no wings). The burgers looked REALLY good and everyone was ordering them but we weren't hungry enough to get one. We arrived around 7:15PM and stayed until last call. We each had 4-5 beers in that time (since we had to drive out of there on back country roads) and we split an order of mozzarella sticks and our total bill was only $30! Amazing! Note: they do allow smoking, almost everyone in there was smoking, and the ventilation system didn't do much to help the air flow. At one point my eyes were burning pretty bad - but it's a dive bar and I was not expecting it to be non-smoking. It's a cool little joint and I'm glad we went!

Food/Drink: For starters, I got there after the main kitchen closed so they only had fried food. It was pretty late, I didn't even expect them to have any food. I just had fries, and they were good. I didn't have any alcohol, because I no longer drink, but it sounded like unreasonably cheap prices for the most part, at least compared to where I'm from. They also have cans of soda, which is my preferred style. The menu isn't huge but I'd also prefer that over overwhelming. They have plenty for everyone. It is 21+ at all times. Pool: The 7 foot tables were in pretty good shape, definitely better than the average bar table for sure. I didn't get a chance to play on it because others were using it, but they just got a brand new 9 foot table with an awesome, square, huge LED light for the top of it! They also hold tournaments pretty often, so it would be a good place to play for a long time, one day, without having to commit to a league of any sort. Service/Atmosphere: It's small, what some might consider a dive bar, but I think it can be so much more! I say that because the service was phenomenal. The bartender was so sweet and funny and honest and kind. I needed it that night, so I am truly grateful. All of the folks that were in there were also really nice as well, which to me, speaks of how the business is run and the people that they attract to their business. Not a huge deal, but I like for my reviews to be as grammatically correct as I know how, and having to go back to correct those is just a little tedious. I told the bartender about my experience at Bar Louis and he laughed saying he'd never be caught dead at chain bar paying $6.50 a drink. Definitely not a place to roll in solo unless you're a pool player. Definitely felt out of place, I felt that way driving through the neighborhood it takes to get here. So for lunch, we headed to our favorite place from when we were both at IU, Nick's. Eager to start our new hobby, I ordered a cosmopolitan and my husband ordered an old fashioned. We also ordered delicious appetizers (mozzarella sticks and mushrooms) and lunch (pizza and a grilled chicken sandwich) from our super friendly waiter. I was about 3/4 of the way through my cosmo and fell asleep. So my new middle-aged hobby ended just as soon as it started. Our waiter brought the check and we paid and tipped generously. The moral of this review: the food is good, the service is fast and friendly, and the drinks are strong. We'll be back again. And again and again. But next time I'm probably having a Diet Coke.
