The band just kept playing one great song after another including a unique version of Michael Jackson's Billy Jean. My side salad was out quick and it was delicious. Reunited, and it felt so good! My only challenge was the smoke--it was really strong and honestly brought me back to the '80s a bit more than I'd like. Maybe when the weather is nicer and they can open the garage door to air things out, it will be better. That said, I loved stopping by today for what are, in my opinion, the best tacos north of the river.

Our waitress was friendly and I appreciate that the owner was providing a table of free food as an option since the kitchen wasn't operational yet, There were bags of chips, nuts and several boxes of Pizza Hut pizza that he had delivered. My only complaint was that I was served a drink with the cheap margarita mix when ordering a "Top Shelf Margarita", they should always be made with fresh. The juke box was off line but the bar had a great "dive bar" feel. Clayton, a patron sitting next to me at the bar, immediately introduced himself to me and we started some small talk. It was hard to hear Clayton as the table behind us had a group on women who were clearly having a good time, but one that was so loud and obnoxious it spoiled the good time for the other patrons at the bar. I watched three different couples ask to close out due to the noise. Fortunately, Emily managed the situation and they left. Suddenly the jukebox was back on line and me and the other patrons that survived the old lady outburst were happy to enjoy this wonderful bar. I will definitely be back and I appreciate a place that looks out for all customers, not necessarily the ones buying the most drinks.

Ironically, my BARDAR has gone off numerous times while driving past the very strip mall in which this bar is located. It's a strip mall that screams that it has a bar in it, yet there isn't one to be found... ...unless you look in the back. But why would you? From Oak it looks like a standard one-story strip mall with nothing behind it. But it turns out there's a sharp drop in the hill and there is indeed a lower level around back. Lost Bar is a small, dark, smokey dive -- exactly what you'd expect such a well-hidden place to be. There's pool tables, games, and a small stage. There seems to be a well-knit group of regulars. Our bartender was very friendly and pleasant. Beer was poured cold and at just the right price: cheap! I really enjoyed my visit here and will be back.
