It is very much a full-service small-town neighborhood bar. There's plenty of seating, shuffleboard, several video games including PowerPutt, an ATM, a nice patio area, and several additional rooms.There's also several displays of medals and war memorabilia. The staff here are very friendly and helpful. We happened to be here on Veteran's Day and the place was absolutely packed, but the bartender and other employees/volunteers were happy to take some time to talk with us. At the end of our visit we bought 20 drink tokens and passed them around to as many veterans as we could find to thank them for their service. :)

My kids were helping them and the staff was so appreciative and being so kind and letting them help! They served pancakes, eggs, and had tons of Easter eggs for the kids. The location itself is a great area to hold events. It's very open and there's a lot of historic sites on the property to check out as well. Highly recommend booking events here! During COVID19 they are accommodating customers by wearing masks and offering curbside pick up and walking out orders to people in their car while they're wearing masks. Unless you have something against fried foods I highly recommend supporting this local service group. The VFW building sits on a large grassy lot with many old oak trees providing wonderful shade and recreational opportunities to picnic, play horseshoes, enjoy a fire in the fire pit, or enjoy the cool breezes in the shade.
