Disappointing Experience and Poor Coordination Our…read moreexperience with Renaissance Wine Garden was deeply disappointing. John and Simeen Cook, the owners, do not seem to communicate with each other, and that lack of coordination falls directly onto couples trying to plan their wedding. John made several promises during the tour, only to disappear afterward, and Simeen seemed unaware of everything he had committed to. Instead of working as a team, they left us feeling like their only priority was themselves, not the couple or the event. For the price, you receive nothing beyond access to the space. There is no help with setup, decorating, or teardown. Every small detail--neon signs, firepit, draping--comes with an additional charge. Access to the venue is extremely limited: ceremony site and suites at 3pm, reception area not until 6pm, and guests cannot enter until 6:30pm. By the time dinner, cake, and toasts are done, you're left with barely two hours of dancing before everything must end at 10pm, despite the contract stating 11pm. The final hour is reserved for you to clean up because the venue provides no assistance. We were even told we could access the reception area slightly early, but only if it didn't "look like setting up," because customers were present. It was uncomfortable and unwelcoming, even though we were paying to be there. The bar was another point of confusion--Simeen couldn't clearly explain how it worked. They also advertise onsite catering for groups under 75, yet discouraged us from using it and pushed us toward outside catering instead. Overall, this venue forces couples to hire additional help for everything, driving costs far beyond what most budgets allow. The lack of flexibility, support, and professionalism caused unnecessary stress and anxiety for both the bride and her mother. I cannot recommend this venue to anyone planning a wedding. Due to all the additional stress my daughter had to go find another venue and I have not received any of my deposit back as of yet. The wedding event was 5 months from the date of cancellation.

It has so much space and so many picture perfect areas for any special event. Plenty of parking in their lot out front. I love that they have a large patio area as well as a pond area where you can take some amazing pictures. This event was well organized. The food was very tasty and service was fast and efficient! I look forward to other events here in the future.

The venue was beautiful and just what we were looking…read morefor; elegant, well kept, and were able to bundle pre-wedding hosting at the bridal cottage and grooms loft with the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Communication was definitely there during the planning which was amazing. They offered food tasting on a specific day each month which was helpful, though it mainly had items we weren't interested in serving. The catering included the cake so we -bought- the cake taster tray at the event, as they only offered one flavor to try. There was a minimum dollar amount, we had a smaller wedding (70 guests) so therefore we added on extras to make it so much more special and to hit the minimum dollar amount. The extras we added on were the upgraded passed appetizers, inside and outside bar, fire pits, assorted cookie bar, upgraded meals including salmon and steak, and two kinds of dips for late night snacks. I've been hesitant to review because it wasn't what I expected, though my guests were impressed. The day of the wedding it rained-no big deal. We were able to do pictures inside, though when it came to any kind of availability, we couldn't find many staff members except one guy setting up. Everything was arranged as I asked, beautifully, though staff members were scarce. We chose to also have the bar open pre-ceremony to have our guests comfortable with a drink in hand. After the ceremony we had the cocktail hour continue with the passed appetizers. The ones we looked forward to the most (Beef Wellington) were barely passed out in addition to the staff neglecting to pass them to us, the bride and groom. They did set a plate at our table with two of each appetizer so we could try after social hour but they were not good by the time we got to them. Next was salad, rolls, and then our entrees. Not everyone got rolls, though the guests raved about the food. The night carried on and I noticed more flaws- fire pits were out but not lit, the outside bar was indeed not opened and when my MOH asked they said they would have to shut down the inside bar to have the same bartender tend outside. What? When it came to the dance floor, the dj had asked us about staff to clear more of a space with the tables and no one could be found to help so the dance floor stayed limited. The cookies and dips at "late hour" were mediocre unfortunately, but not upset they were included. Prior to our wedding date they said if we wanted to include gratuity, it must be done prior. That's ironic. Overall the venue and event was worth it, and it still was the best day ever, though over $16k for one day felt excessive with promises not fulfilled.

They had promoted "kids galore activities," but in reality, there were very few. We waited over an hour in line for face painting, only to miss out on the character drawings because the line was already cut off by the time we finished. The bounce houses were advertised as "tons," but there were only two--and they were unsafe. Despite the sign saying "adult supervision required," there were no adults monitoring, and kids were jumping on top of the bounce houses and hurting others. I had to call security multiple times, and nothing was done. I even found myself stepping in to help because children were leaving in tears. There were no tables to sit at, even though there were many food trucks, and very few kid-friendly activities beyond the long lines. The hot air balloon "walk-through" never happened--there was only one balloon set up, and the rest didn't even start unloading until after 7. Overall, the event was poorly organized, unsafe, and very misleading compared to how it was advertised. Very disappointed with this experience.

And most importantly, so were our guests. We just had our wedding reception at Rose of the Hill on June 23, 2018, and could NOT be happier with our choice! First of all, Quentin Dunk is amazing to work with. He's extremely helpful throughout the entire planning process, but the best part is how great he is on the actually day of your wedding. Quentin checked in with my husband and I SO many times to make sure we were getting everything we needed, he took care of our family and friends incredibly, and if there was a job to be done, Quentin jumped right in there to do it. THE FOOD. Oh my goodness.... DE-LICIOUS. We decided to do a Family Style dinner and it was an absolute hit. Everyone commented on how quickly the food came out and how nice it was to be able to sit down while still getting to pick and choose what they wanted on their plate. And everyone said that the Penne with creamy tomato sausage and sage was their favorite =) We would have our reception there all over again. DEFINITELY recommend.

The owners were there the entire time and were friendly and accommodating with various requests. Barn venues for weddings are all the rage and this location was very impressive. First impressions when arriving... wow, clean, organized and impressive details everywhere. The wedding service was performed here. Valley Farms had a nice outdoor area set up overlooking pastures. If the weather was bad there was an option to bring it inside. The main barn for the reception looked to have been built for receptions. Big enough to accommodate probably over 200 guests with room for DJ and a large head table. Prior to the reception, there was an outdoor bar with seating everywhere. Here the wedding had appetizers and cash bar. Only ding was the option for liquor, beers and wines. (Barefoot wines...not exactly high quality). They had a few animals out and a tractor hay ride (without hay) to take the wedding party out for pictures. A nice area for a bonfire once the sun went down and temps hit 50's which was a lot of fun. I don't have the cost, but in the wedding reception market, it's competitive but compare apples to apples. In the end, Valley Farms was very impressive in the setting, atmosphere they created for an outdoor, barn feel and everything looked brand new and well taken care of. You can see the pride and attention to detail the owners have.

Everyone loved cocktail hour on the patio and Sugarfire catering did not disappoint! The pricing was also amazing compared to everywhere else we looked. Bridal suit was beautiful, grooms room was perfect for the boys, and restrooms for guests were clean and stocked with a variety of supplies. Wonderful selection of drinks at the bar. Would pick Valley farms 1000 times over!
