salty dog, matcha latte

Salty dog is so good, as well as the matcha! (I'm a big matcha critic) The staff are also extremely nice! I always look forward to this coffee shop when in BV. SO CUTE!!

Best. Coffee. Shop. EVER. I live in BV and Veya is the perfect place to stop at if you're wanting a homemade pastry or great coffee. Their poptarts are the best and I've never had anything like them. Made fresh daily! Great vibes in the shop during the winter with the big windows. And of course, the best team running the shop!! A must try if you're in the area.

Addicting coffee omg! Smooth and flavorful espresso with perfectly balanced syrups! The inside is very cute and cozy. The baristas were super friendly and helpful! 10/10

I'm from Orange County, CA, and this coffee is one of the best coffee I've ever had. Personally, I think it's better than a lot of coffee shop in LA. We got their lattes and matcha. Super fragrant coffee with good homemade syrup.

Delish iced mocha! Perfect spot for takeout. A bit small for groups, but location is great. Friendly folks.

Hands down my favorite restaurant in town--you truly can't go wrong with any of the food or drinks…read morehere. I would almost dare say I'm a frequent flyer to this place. My go-to is so simple: their dark roast coffee of the day and 2 gluten free donut holes. They have an assortment of gluten free pastries which are all sooooooo good. What's even better is that sometimes they have "day-olds" for 50% off. What a steal! I've also gotten their Eggman Sandwich on gluten free bread and also their Meaty Bowl when I'm super hungry. The Meaty Bowl is very filling--it doesn't look like a whole lot, but they don't skimp on the meat, I'll tell ya that! My favorite smooth is the Green Dream with protein powder, and second favorite would be the Tropical Storm. Both are fantastic choices! The highlight of it all is their staff. Everyone who works there is welcoming, happy, and the most attentive people. Katie always brightens my day--she always has a smile on her face! So yeah, if you're in Buena Vista, don't miss Cool River. It is the BEST.

It was very obvious this was a local hangout for breakfast after a short time there. It was as a vet quaint setting from the decorations to the very friendly server. We both had the early bird special, 2eggs, choice of bread and protein and your drink. The food was great, just the perfect amount of food to hold one over for a morning of paddling. Really a great place.

The Chile rellenos were like some terrible version you find in terrible food places like eastern Oklahoma. The star of the relleno should be the chile, not the breading. It was almost all this way overdone breading. Not good at all. The "green chili" was as spicy as milk and equally as flavorful. My brother said the breakfast burrito was terrible. I saw it, and it did not look appetizing. Some of the "green chili" drizzled on top like an afterthought. Dry and uninspired. My son enjoyed his simple plate of bacon, eggs, hash browns, and toast, but those who ordered the Mexican food inspired dishes were majorly disappointed. As far as service, we waited forever to order. Our drinks were constantly empty. The server was very polite but things like missing items, missing silverware, empty coffees and waters starts to add up to a negative experience. Nice views outside and the place is clean so atmosphere is fine, but the rest was severely lacking.

They roast their beans in-house, which means every cup starts with incredibly fresh coffee. I ordered a latte with whole milk--no sugar or syrups--and it was exceptionally smooth. The beans had natural notes of fruit and nuts, making the coffee flavorful without needing any sweeteners. The patio is a great place to rascals the summer heat. I only have one regret: I wish I had bought a bag or two of beans to bring back to Denver.

We went into a couple of other supposed coffee stores in this little town and they really didn't have what we wanted which was a cortado. Most of the people didn't even know what we're talking about. And suggested that we go to Buena Vista Roastery. Really nice set up. Wonderful cortados and espresso americanos, etc. etc. Also had some Nice baked goods and a real cool vibe. You could sit inside or outside. When we were. There was pretty hot so we stayed inside, but it's a hopping place. Lots of people on their laptops, apple parking and again, a really great vibe to the place. People that work. There were really nice and we would absolutely come back.

We, of course, ordered the boatload of tots, which is just how you'd expect and were very tasty! Since they're known for their burgers, I went with a burger! I had Hygge Hype Burger. Our server asked if medium was ok for the cook and I said yes, but I wish that I'd said medium rare. It was overcooked and a bit dry for me, sadly. But I loved the toppings. The gruyere and caramelized onions were delicious. Had the burger been juicier, it would have been perfect. I also had the Malbec ($5 on HH), but it wasn't great. Hubs ordered the Oklahoma Smash Burger and that was delicious. Very juicy! Our daughter had the chicken tenders, which she didn't love, but then she ate them for dinner the next day with no complaints so...take that as you will. The tenders are GF with a cornmeal crust, so the crust is thin. We sat outside on the lovely patio because it was a gorgeous day.
