I can't thank VEG vets enough for their kindness and caring. The 3 ladies (vets/ techs) I…read moreinteracted with treated me and my cat with so much thoughtfulness and their wisdom resulted in saving my little dudes life. I was ready to euthanize my 18 y/o cat, but they thought maybe he could bounce back from a debilitating stroke he had and convinced me to give him some time. And they were right, in a few weeks he is almost back to his old self. So thankful for you ladies!

Extremely Disappointing Experience…read more We arrived at VEG with our dog after he was bitten by another dog and had a significant wound on his leg. We stood at the entrance ringing the bell for five minutes before anyone even let us inside. Once inside, we waited approximately 40 minutes, watching other patients being attended to while no one checked on our dog. Eventually, someone examined him and then simply texted us an estimate for approximately $2,300. No one came over to explain the charges or discuss the recommended treatment with us. When I reviewed the estimate, I saw $400 listed as miscellaneous charges and another $350 for stitches--even though we were subsequently told that our dog didn't actually need stitches. At that point, we decided to leave. We immediately drove to VRCC Medical Hospital, where the difference was remarkable. They took care of our dog immediately. The doctor personally came out, examined the wound, and reached a very different conclusion from the medical technician at VEG regarding the treatment he needed. And here's the real kicker: even with stitches and all of the treatment our dog actually received, our bill at VRCC was roughly one-third of VEG's $2,300 estimate. Based on our experience, VEG gave us the impression that the focus was more on generating revenue than providing compassionate, appropriate care for our pet. Do yourself and your pet a favor: skip VEG and drive down the road to a real veterinary hospital. You'll likely get better care, a doctor's evaluation, and save yourself a considerable amount of money.

The old management team and doctors were the most amazing people we have ever encountered helping our pets. They were hands-on and genuinely loving and caring to the animals as well as the owners and they didn't overcharge or over bill. During the Covid season, our family had to put down one of our dogs. The vets were the absolute kindest and allowed us and our masks on to be in the room. A new team of doctors and management has taken over I am not at all pleased. They did tests on one of our dogs without talking to us first as to what tests would be done and at what cost. I walked out with an extremely high bill. I was told I could have a free check up in one week and they found something else to charge me for without even asking again and then wanted to throw a shot for $70 for who knows what and then more pills to take. They do tests and they do not tell you how much the tests are. I'm very disappointed in the direction that Blue Spruce animal clinic has gone because we really did trust the previous doctors.

He was obviously in a lot of pain so we took him to VEG and he stayed overnight. He had several very severe episodes over the last decade and sometimes I would even have to carry him up and down the stairs for weeks. He stayed so strong and so silly until the very end and, I swear, came back from the dead five different times. Unfortunately I had to put him down the next day but all of the nurses at VEG were very sympathetic and he died peacefully in my arms as I whispered in his ear how much I love him. They made me an ink stamp of his paw and even put his two different types of hair in glass vials. They were so thoughtful and even hand wrote me a sweet letter from everyone who got to know him. They even went as far as adding a little heart shaped piece of paper with seeds in it so I can plant them in his memory. I should be receiving his ashes this week and I am just so grateful for everyone who helped me through this difficult transition. He was my Denver dog who I got in college and we had so many amazing adventures. It felt like the ideal closing to a chapter. I found him on my father's birthday and everything went down on Father's Day. I will miss him until the end of time, thank you so much for your gracious help.

The vets and techs immediately began to help and diagnose, which included a clear treatment plan, and eventually surgery, all of which were necessary to save our dog. Dr. Thaeder, Dr, Martic, Dr. Schultz, Alexis, Sam, Becca, Kim, (and several others I'm undoubtedly forgetting) saved our dog in the most impressive, transparent, and compassionate way that I never knew existed. We witnessed every step of the process to diagnose and restore our dog's health. If you want to stay all night with your pet, you can. If you want to watch their x-rays, they have a window for that. If your pet needs an operation, you can observe that from a window if you want. If you need a private room, there are several. Apart from the deep knowledge and passion these vets clearly have, they treated our dog like a member of their own family and he clearly fell in love with them. He's already getting back to his ornery self each day, and we are so grateful!

However, they are so busy all the time. They see your pet based on if the animal is an emergency or not. But what qualifies as an emergency? My dog had been throwing up for hours, including blood and she threw up a massive amount in the waiting room. Still took 3 hours to be seen. The waiting is very frustrating. My pet isn't feeling good and I can't explain to her what/why/how etc. It's quite stressful and worrisome. (Example: there was a Great Dane that had a run in with a porcupine, clearly had a dozen quills in his nose and was in the waiting room for over an hour. We left before he was seen but to me, that's an emergency!) Since they do surgeries etc. there should be a separate entrance for people coming in for surgery or speciality care verses folks walking in with a hurt or sick pet. Separate the two out as much as possible and have plenty of vets and techs to handle both. Unfortunately, this is the only Vet ER in Parker so there isn't another option close by. Just be prepared for a long wait time. Take a book, water, snacks & phone charger. If you can avoid, don't bring your children, they will be so bored.

They emailed me back first thing Monday morning, providing information. They followed up with a text to see if I wanted to move forward and when I said yes they called. I was able to get in next day! The evening before I set up my portal account and sent my pups records. On appt day, we were greeted so warmly, like they already knew us, and placed us into a private room. I had a nice chat with a vet tech while she asked questions, and 5 mins later we were with the Dr! He sat on the floor with my nervous pup, got to know us and then took her back for assessment. He avoided intrusive procedures, rather offering less expensive alternatives and gave an over all heath assessment. They checked me out and the cost was very reasonable. While on my way home, they texted lab results that my pup was healthy and good to go! I am so happy I found Hess Ridge. You can tell they love what they do and care to build relationships with you and your fur baby.

Blood gushing, rushing to get luggage & find urgent care nearby. Was traumatic since we are not familiar with this area for emergency dog services. Fortunately mostly paw pad and skin - no broken bones or removed toes/digits. Discharged with antibiotics and painkiller. Receipts, summary pdfs emailed immediately. I would never take my animals to this clinic again, and I cannot recommend it to anyone…read more We brought our dog here for treatment, trusting that she was going to receive the care she needed. We were quoted approximately $6,000-$9,000 for her care, only for her condition to deteriorate to the point that she ultimately had to be euthanized while in their care not even 12 hours after we brought her in. What makes this experience even more devastating is that the veterinarian recommended a medication that, in our experience, resulted in catastrophic complications. We were told that the reaction our dog experienced was "extremely rare." However, the complication that occurred was not listed on the medication bottle, nor was this potential risk discussed with us when the medication was recommended. Our dog ultimately suffered severe pain and organ failure, including liver failure. Hearing that the reaction was "extremely rare" was especially upsetting. Regardless of how uncommon a complication may be, it happened to our dog. To us, that statement felt incredibly insensitive in the middle of an already horrific situation. If there is a serious potential risk associated with a medication, owners deserve to be properly informed so they can make an educated decision about their animal's care. The communication throughout this entire experience was also extremely poor. There seemed to be a lack of communication not only between the clinic and our family, but also among the staff themselves. We repeatedly felt like we were not receiving clear or consistent information about what was happening with our dog. Even more disturbing was the lack of empathy shown during one of the most heartbreaking experiences we have ever gone through. Communication often felt cold, robotic, and purely clinical when we desperately needed compassion and understanding. Losing a beloved animal is devastating under any circumstances. Having to make the decision to say goodbye after trusting a veterinary team to care for her, while also feeling that we had not been adequately informed about the medication being recommended, made this experience even more traumatic. I understand that veterinary medicine is complicated and that not every outcome can be controlled. However, clear communication, informed consent, compassion, and accountability should never be considered optional. Based on our experience, I would not return to this clinic and would strongly encourage other pet owners to thoroughly research their options and ask detailed questions about any medications and treatments being recommended.
