I want to thank VEG for their around the clock care and compassion in trying to save my best friend Batman in his last days. From the drs, to the techs, to Andi at the front desk they treat you as more than just another day at work, they work with their hearts. Unfortunately, my boy was too old and too sick to fight but they gave him the best chance they could and I will forever be grateful for the care they showed him and the empathy they showed me and my family in what were the hardest days. Thank you to the whole staff at VEG for your kindness, compassion, and just overall genuineness it did not go unnoticed. read more

My senior dog suddenly collapsed to the floor. Took him to VEG Boynton. They rushed him in and quickly diagnosed him as having internal bleeding from a mass on his spleen. The vet told me he didn't have long. I was traumatized. He's been my buddy for 15 years. While I lay next to him in tears, digesting this situation this woman Vet started pressuring me to sign forms for euthanasia. She stated something about covering her ass and not misdiagnosing a death. Hours went by and my dog fought and recovered. During that time, the vet kept coming to us pressuring euthanasia. My dog was not suffering, only weak. The next hour he was up eating and drinking and we chose to go home for home hospice and put the death clinic in our rear view mirror. Rocko is now at home and is living strong. We know he's nearing his final time but at least it will be on our terms instead on the terms of a loud veterinarian who only cares about covering her ass. Out of fairness, all of the support staff was tremendous on this day. Prayers to the vet techs. read more

I have used the EG for emergencies for our lab pit numerous times. The last time was for euthanasia. It was on a weekend and our regular vet was not available and I requested that we do it in the car so our Chloe wouldn't get upset going into the hospital part of the space. They were very accommodating and loving. I will always go there for any emergency care necessary for our pets. Everyone from the assistance to the text to veterinarian himself were generous of spirit, present, gracious and compassionate. I very much appreciate their professionalism and love. Don't hesitate. read more

Had what might have been an emergency with my dog. Called VEG, recording answered and I was put on hold for 12 minutes. Hung up, called again, woman answered the phone, said she was transferring me to a vet, was put on hold for 4 minutes. Hung up, called again, same woman answered, told her no one had picked up, she apologized and said she'd put me right through, on hold again. Gave up. Dog is OK and I'm glad I know not to rely on this place. I would avoid. read more

Last night our dog had to be rushed to the ER due to extensive vomiting, hard breathing, and inability to walk. When we arrived I went in to let them know he can't/wont walk and need a stretcher bc he's 98lbs and thick, he's a bully. Immediately Eddy came out like Superman and CARRIED him right in to see the doctor. After running test and was given medication (which was immediately which I appreciated a lot bc he was in a lot of stomach pain/discomfort to the point he was shaking) we were able to take him home. They were thorough, calming, reassuring, kind, affordable considering it's an ER vet, etc....They were spotless with a free coffee and snack station. They even refunded us $100 for a procedure the vet thought she'd need to do but ended up not needing to. Very impressed and highly recommended. Thank you everyone at VEG who helped my baby feel better! read more

We brought in a small black dog that had just been hit by a car. It was a very tough situation for me given the circumstances, but the team reassured me and even took the time to tell me personal stories. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for all you did. We will never forget it read more

Yes, this place can get pricey. What you're paying for is quality vet care 24/7. I had to bring my cat in around midnight for excessive vomiting. They ran an x-ray, ultra sound, blood test, and showed me all results. Everything originally looked okay, but I was told to come back and recheck in 12 hours. Thankfully I listened, and after what was found, they suggested an exploratory surgery. The entire staff was very supportive and generous, walking me through every step of the way and making sure that my pet and I were comfortable. Now my cat and I are back at home resting comfortably, and it's a big thank you to the VEG team. You are all amazing. read more

I found this wonderful vet group because my vet is closed on Thursdays and the voicemail said to press 1 if it was an emergency. I was immediately connected to these folks and they said to just come. No appointment necessary. My 13 year old Lab mix was declining rapidly. Meds, kidney issues, front and rear leg problems, incontinence, bowels - Just name the system failure and it was there or coming. I called my daughter, picked her up at school, and we headed home to get our sweet dog. When we arrived at EVG, a staff member appeared at our car to help us lift our girl from the car. They were wonderful. The first step was an IV that was inserted by a vet with another staff person sitting in the floor holding her so gently. My dog never flinched and was clearly comforted by the arms around her. We had a private room with as much time with her as we needed. Packets of tissues and a button to press when we were ready to say goodbye. The vet explained everything in detail to calm my daughter. And me. I already knew the process. The anesthesia was introduced and the three of us gently lowered her to the floor. the paralytic was injected and I held her heart in my hand until it ceased to beat and told my daughter that our girl was gone. They left us with her until we were ready to leave. EVG made a difference in our lives and treated our noble dog with love and respect. They made the unbearable survivable. There is nothing more that I could ask. read more

Wow. I cannot recommend this place enough. Came here when my dog was panting and acting weird in the middle of the night. The doctor saw her immediately and knew right away it was pyometria (sp?) her uterus was severely infected. They needed to give her pain meds and immediate antibiotics and do a lot to her but in the meantime they set me up in a room with her to sleep with blankets and a ginger ale and even a nightlight so I could be with her until morning to find a vet who could do the emergency surgery for less. In the AM they called and helped me find a place that was the least expensive and I took her there for the surgery. 3 days after the surgery she was seeming like she was in extreme pain and I took her to the vet that did the surgery and they blew it off. I took her back to the VEG and they gave her pain meds she actually needed and she finally got some relief while she was healing. As you can imagine all of this got VERY expensive and I was in tears about it because as a single mom I didn't have anymore but my dog means everything to me. I went to check out and my bill that should have been thousands was 16.00 the doctor didn't charge me for anything but the one medication. I ran up to him and gave him a huge hug crying thanking him. They truly care here. They fight for you, the staff is so kind and helpful and educated. I cannot recommend this place enough!!! read more

I can't thank you all enough. From the first phone call letting you guys know we arrived to the minute we left, everything was outstanding. Carli was exceptional and stayed in contact with me with text messages and videos. The comfort that we felt the entire night was such a relief words can't express My gratefulness for you all. When we first entered the Doctor and the nurses told us we could come in and stay as long as we wanted. It was so amazing knowing that they welcomed us in with all of the restrictions going on everywhere. Dr. Gonzales was incredible and made us feel instantly relieved knowing we were leaving Sawyer Jameson in her care. The nurses were all so nice and comforting. I really really can't express enough my thanks to you all. We got a call at 7 am from Dr. Sanmarti letting us know how the night went and he was so nice and it was good to hear how much they all loved Sawyer. I am a hairdresser and I will be letting everyone know that you guys are a wise choice for emergencies and aftercare. read more

A dog bit my Chihuahua. The vet said she'd operate if he had a chance. A wkr quoted $5-$6.5K asking if it was OK. I replied of course. She returned saying it wld be $6-$7.5K & they'd refund if it was less. I wanted them to help Bonito, not waste time figuring out a price. She returned saying $7,500 for a 2 hr operation. It took nearly 1 1/2 hrs for them to complete the charge. Only then did they seem serious about helping him & prep him for surgery Nearly 2 hrs after arrival, the vet operated. She immediately saw there was no hope & it would be kinder to put him down while still under anesthesia. I agreed The next day, they said it cost $3500, but charged over $4K. It seemed avaricious. Even the nearly $500 cremation fee is over 2X what others charge. They seemed kind. The vet said the delay didn't cause the death, but I still feel the concern for fees was greater than concern for the dog. read more

This team of vets are absolutely incredible! They are so nice and took great care of my little guy through his surgery. They came out to give us updates throughout and cared more than any other vet that we went to. One of the vets came up to us and asked if we knew his toy had a hole in it. When we said, "yeah he does it to all of his toys." She went to stitch it back up just because. Highly recommend! read more

Words cannot describe how amazing the staff is as the care they gave. We just went back today for a sonogram to check her and they couldn't welcome us in any more. Brought my 14 year old maltese mix there yesterday. I was very anxious, she had been having diarrhea and a little bit of vomiting for about 2 days, and the usual rice and boiled chicken didn't do anything to help her. She was seen immediately, and even though the place was very busy, they didn't rush us at all. Everyone was so kind, compassionate, and of course very competent and professional. They took their time to explain everything they explained it very patiently they were wonderful with my dog. I brought her back for a follow-up early this morning. Again they were very patient they took their time with her and thankfully she's doing much much better. read more

They deserve zero stars. They are horrible they do not care about animals at all in this facility. They are rude and disrespectful to the people that go in there. They rip you off with their high prices and they don't even know what they're doing. They don't give proper testing they don't do the proper procedures they're supposed to follow and then they second-guess themselves and let you know they don't know what's going on but they're going to charge you for this and this even though your animal most likely doesn't need it. If you value the life of your fur baby do not go to this facility they are the worst place to possibly go I recommend you go elsewhere. This place should be shut down. read more

Took our Maltipoo to the Veterinary Emergency Group because he was breathing 60 breaths per minute and was visibly in discomfort. The staff was warm, prompt and considerate, and Dr Joshua Pierce was thorough and informative, offered me different options for treatment, and didn't pressure me into any of them. And I love their core principles: 1. You see a Doctor right away, before any paper work begins. 2. You stay with your pet through all phases of treatment. 3. You can sit on the floor, or wherever your pet is most comfortable. While I hope I never have to bring my dog to an emergency clinic again, if I do, I'll return to the Veterinary Emergency Group. read more

Several weeks ago, I brought Cody to this clinic after being sent there by Cody's primary Dr. Bolanos, who'd also called ahead for us. Upon arrival, we were lucky to have Dr. Laura de Armas waiting for us, an Angel Among Angels Dr.L immediately brought Cody to an exam table and looked at his underbelly and saw a mass in his spleen and also that it had begun to bleed internally. Dr. de Armas sat with me and explained our choices, and we chose to remove the spleen where the mass was. I was allowed to be with Cody during the Ultrasound and return to sit with Cody after the surgery while recovering in a run suitable 4 Cody.We await the Oncologist. For several weeks Cody's been happy. We returnd a 2nd time, and again were so lucky to have Dr. de Armas on call Cody was given anti-nausea medication and in 45 mins, was back to himself. That was ovr 2 weeks ago.Yesterday 04/17/21, we returned and were lucky to have Dr. de Armas there yet again. She gave Cody an ultrasound showing no critical internal bleeding but said the oncologist would help choose a path. Again an anti Nausea shot was Given, The pic in the car is Cody, after 4/17 visit, happy again.I had forgot my wallet, even my DL. I highly recommend them to anyone that wants to be there with their pet, both pre-op and post-op. *In all fairness, during the second visit, they were so busy that the initial meet was with the front office staff, one of which was learning empathy, I can understand that, and as soon as Dr. de Armas saw us that was taken care of.* read more

I do not recommend this place filled with disrespectful staff that only cares about money!!! STAY AWAY any emergencies please find a different place to go. Me and my girlfriend brought our cat here, because of an emergency, they checked our cat out they told us everything so far was fine, they told us they could do an MRI - The MRI was $1500!!! Which is mad crazy just for the cat when my girlfriend said it was fine, it's like their whole energy changed, and seemed irritated. So they told us we had to pay a fee for the visit which was no problem I understand businesses have to make money, but when we told them we didn't have much on us we asked if we could pay it tomorrow, they told us no we need payment upfront and there's no other way of payment- then couple mins later they told my girlfriend that she can do a credit application for the payment, then the lady that was assisting us comes out of nowhere and says "what's the budget for tonight" trying to embarrass us. I feel like all of this was very unacceptable and made me and my girlfriend uncomfortable and embarrassed smh read more

$$$$$$$$$ That's all they care about here. Brought our little Maltese 11 Week old puppy here on Memorial Day because our puppy wasn't eating or drinking. Puppy couldn't breathe well and right away, tried to get me to pay $1800 for diagnostics. (Blood xrays everything.) Well I decided on just a chest xray because of the symptoms and it did show pneumonia. Dr Straus showed me the xray and said to save this dog I would need to give her fluids and send her to another outside hospital for $7000!!! I told her i could not afford it and asked her to please see if she could do anything else to save her. she also mentioned, that the dog would have a lot of scar tissue and be sick off and on for the rest of her life. Then she told me to euthanize the dog. At this point I was so upset and not thinking correctly and went along with the Drs suggestion to euthanize her. Dr. Strauss was very busy, so when she gave her the first shot to put her to sleep, she did't wait, she immediately gave the dog the kill shot. the vet is supposed to wait for the dog to fall asleep. i know this because i've had a lot of dogs in my life! I now feel terrible since seeing all the reviews on them being wrong with their diagnosis and should have taken her home to take her to my own vet. I made a terrible decision and they couldn't care less. No compassion and no love for animals here. Will NEVER go back again. she also was going to charge me $850 for her ashes, which we thought that was also expensive. read more

I selected this emergency vet location based on the overall review score and the proximity to my home. I had a dehydrated Pom Pom due to diarrhea and some other complications. I was greeted at the door with a warm helping tone of the intake personnel and my doggy was whisked away for immediate attention. Moments later, maybe 10 minutes, the doctor emerged with some basic info that she was generally ok, but they needed to do blood work and X-rays and such to try and figure out why there was blood in her stool. Anyways, I was advised of the recommended treatment and agreed. They generated an invoice which only required a signature to begin, but I paid ahead to get it out of the way. All the preliminary assessments and vitals were positive so they determined out-patient treatment was ok. They gave her some fluids and prescribed several meds for treatment and was advised by the doctor what the meds did, how they worked and how often to take them. Then when I was given the meds, I was again told as to how to give, how often, etc. They really wanted to make sure I was clear on it all. Very helpful when you're under a state of duress. I left and by the time I got home, I received a follow up call with the results of the more detailed radiological review, which is performed off-site. All good! Overallhe staff wore "kid gloves" with a high touch and super positive demeanor with me and other clients within ear shot. Very pleased with the compassion I felt. read more

We had a five star experience at Boynton Beach VEG on Saturday, March 6, 2021. Our 12-week old puppy became quite unresponsive, tremoring, and unable to stand. At approximately 7 PM, VEG Personnel greeted us at the door following strict, appropriate Covid policies. They focused on information intake about the situation. They took a very metered approach on what tests to perform and how long to observe puppy's behavior before going further. At one point we returned home to check on what puppy may have gotten into to cause the symptoms. During the next three hours VEG kept us informed about puppy's progress since we were unable to go in with him. Sometimes I had to call twice after waiting on hold; that was a small inconvenience compared to the overall experience. There were easily six other pets requiring care, based on the number of people waiting outside. Dr. Stewart was phenomenal with how she communicated, explaining all the test results and helping us decide the best course of treatment. When we agreed at approximately midnight to bring puppy home, Dr. Stewart assured us that if we had any concerns we could return the next day for a check up as part of the initial visit. The staff was kind. Their respect for both the pets and the families is unparalleled. At one point when there were several of us waiting outside, they brought out small bottle of waters and soda. Also, it was only after puppy was showing significant progress that the reception staff contacted us for basic details like our address and email addresses. Another sign of focusing on the right priorities. They texted the next day to follow up about puppy's condition. Good news is that puppy recovered 100%! Hopefully you'll never need to use their services. If you do, you can have the peace of mind that you are receiving the best care possible. read more
