They deserve zero stars. They are horrible they do not care about animals at all in this facility. They are rude and disrespectful to the people that go in there. They rip you off with their high prices and they don't even know what they're doing. They don't give proper testing they don't do the proper procedures they're supposed to follow and then they second-guess themselves and let you know they don't know what's going on but they're going to charge you for this and this even though your animal most likely doesn't need it. If you value the life of your fur baby do not go to this facility they are the worst place to possibly go I recommend you go elsewhere. This place should be shut down. read more

A dog bit my Chihuahua. The vet said she'd operate if he had a chance. A wkr quoted $5-$6.5K asking if it was OK. I replied of course. She returned saying it wld be $6-$7.5K & they'd refund if it was less. I wanted them to help Bonito, not waste time figuring out a price. She returned saying $7,500 for a 2 hr operation. It took nearly 1 1/2 hrs for them to complete the charge. Only then did they seem serious about helping him & prep him for surgery Nearly 2 hrs after arrival, the vet operated. She immediately saw there was no hope & it would be kinder to put him down while still under anesthesia. I agreed The next day, they said it cost $3500, but charged over $4K. It seemed avaricious. Even the nearly $500 cremation fee is over 2X what others charge. They seemed kind. The vet said the delay didn't cause the death, but I still feel the concern for fees was greater than concern for the dog. read more

Brought my 14 year old maltese mix there yesterday. I was very anxious, she had been having diarrhea and a little bit of vomiting for about 2 days, and the usual rice and boiled chicken didn't do anything to help her. She was seen immediately, and even though the place was very busy, they didn't rush us at all. Everyone was so kind, compassionate, and of course very competent and professional. They took their time to explain everything they explained it very patiently they were wonderful with my dog. I brought her back for a follow-up early this morning. Again they were very patient they took their time with her and thankfully she's doing much much better. read more

I found this wonderful vet group because my vet is closed on Thursdays and the voicemail said to press 1 if it was an emergency. I was immediately connected to these folks and they said to just come. No appointment necessary. My 13 year old Lab mix was declining rapidly. Meds, kidney issues, front and rear leg problems, incontinence, bowels - Just name the system failure and it was there or coming. I called my daughter, picked her up at school, and we headed home to get our sweet dog. When we arrived at EVG, a staff member appeared at our car to help us lift our girl from the car. They were wonderful. The first step was an IV that was inserted by a vet with another staff person sitting in the floor holding her so gently. My dog never flinched and was clearly comforted by the arms around her. We had a private room with as much time with her as we needed. Packets of tissues and a button to press when we were ready to say goodbye. The vet explained everything in detail to calm my daughter. And me. I already knew the process. The anesthesia was introduced and the three of us gently lowered her to the floor. the paralytic was injected and I held her heart in my hand until it ceased to beat and told my daughter that our girl was gone. They left us with her until we were ready to leave. EVG made a difference in our lives and treated our noble dog with love and respect. They made the unbearable survivable. Our dog Stevie is currently a patient with Dr. Lippo. We just found out she has a right atrial tumor which is causing pericardial effusion. What that means is that Stevie's heart fluids are leaking and has to be monitored so closely with medication and sonograms and care. We found out all of this on July 4. Words cannot describe how amazing the staff is as the care they gave. We just went back today for a sonogram to check her and they couldn't welcome us in any more. Took our Maltipoo to the Veterinary Emergency Group because he was breathing 60 breaths per minute and was visibly in discomfort. The staff was warm, prompt and considerate, and Dr Joshua Pierce was thorough and informative, offered me different options for treatment, and didn't pressure me into any of them. And I love their core principles: 1. You see a Doctor right away, before any paper work begins. 2. You stay with your pet through all phases of treatment. 3. You can sit on the floor, or wherever your pet is most comfortable. This is the most caring veterinary office I've ever been to. We had to bring in our old golden retriever late at night. After an ultrasound it turns out he had aggressive tumors and cancer and had to be put down. Which is mad crazy just for the cat when my girlfriend said it was fine, it's like their whole energy changed, and seemed irritated. So they told us we had to pay a fee for the visit which was no problem I understand businesses have to make money, but when we told them we didn't have much on us we asked if we could pay it tomorrow, they told us no we need payment upfront and there's no other way of payment- then couple mins later they told my girlfriend that she can do a credit application for the payment, then the lady that was assisting us comes out of nowhere and says "what's the budget for tonight" trying to embarrass us. Took my dog in for a really bad ear infection. They are very kind and there was no wait. They did have some emergencies come in while we were there, they were very busy. His entire ear was swollen and they could have suggested surgery, but they used meds first. The swelling went down and he did not have to have an additional procedure. The cost was not much more than I would have paid at the vet. Definitely go there when vets are closed. read more

$$$$$$$$$ That's all they care about here. Brought our little Maltese 11 Week old puppy here on Memorial Day because our puppy wasn't eating or drinking. Puppy couldn't breathe well and right away, tried to get me to pay $1800 for diagnostics. (Blood xrays everything.) Well I decided on just a chest xray because of the symptoms and it did show pneumonia. Dr Straus showed me the xray and said to save this dog I would need to give her fluids and send her to another outside hospital for $7000!!! I told her i could not afford it and asked her to please see if she could do anything else to save her. she also mentioned, that the dog would have a lot of scar tissue and be sick off and on for the rest of her life. Then she told me to euthanize the dog. At this point I was so upset and not thinking correctly and went along with the Drs suggestion to euthanize her. Dr. Strauss was very busy, so when she gave her the first shot to put her to sleep, she did't wait, she immediately gave the dog the kill shot. the vet is supposed to wait for the dog to fall asleep. i know this because i've had a lot of dogs in my life! I now feel terrible since seeing all the reviews on them being wrong with their diagnosis and should have taken her home to take her to my own vet. I made a terrible decision and they couldn't care less. No compassion and no love for animals here. Will NEVER go back again. she also was going to charge me $850 for her ashes, which we thought that was also expensive. read more

Several weeks ago, I brought Cody to this clinic after being sent there by Cody's primary Dr. Bolanos, who'd also called ahead for us. Upon arrival, we were lucky to have Dr. Laura de Armas waiting for us, an Angel Among Angels Dr.L immediately brought Cody to an exam table and looked at his underbelly and saw a mass in his spleen and also that it had begun to bleed internally. Dr. de Armas sat with me and explained our choices, and we chose to remove the spleen where the mass was. I was allowed to be with Cody during the Ultrasound and return to sit with Cody after the surgery while recovering in a run suitable 4 Cody.We await the Oncologist. For several weeks Cody's been happy.We returnd a 2nd time,and again were so lucky to have Dr. de Armas on call Cody was given anti-nausea medication and in 45 mins, was back to himself. That was ovr 2 weeks ago.Yesterday 04/17/21, we returned and were lucky to have Dr. de Armas there yet again.She gave Cody an ultrasound showing no critical internal bleeding but said the oncologist would help choose a path. Again an anti Nausea shot was Given, The pic in the car is Cody, after 4/17 visit, happy again.I had forgot my wallet,even my DL. I had already paid $5000.00, and the payment was not the Dr's concern; my *Cody's quality of life was.*This is a group of Angels, and Dr. de Armas is An Angel Among Angels.I was also sent home with medications to keep this nausea from returning while we await the oncology appt.I need to bring him back by today as Cody's been drinking water, which he couldn't keep down had he not had the meds, he needs IV nutrition so that he can eat again on his own as we travel the journey.Everyone at VEG is fantastic, compassionate, and empathetic. I highly recommend them to anyone that wants to be there with their pet, both pre-op and post-op. *In all fairness, during the second visit, they were so busy that the initial meet was with the front office staff, one of which was learning empathy, I can understand that, and as soon as Dr. de Armas saw us that was taken care of.* read more

Best pet emergency I have ever been to!!! Dr. Waller and her staff are amazing!!! My baby, Kash, was having diarrhea, vomiting, wouldn't eat, etc etc so I found this place on yelp and called. Actually got to speak to the doctor BEFORE I even went in. I had to take him in at 3am that morning, waited 5 minutes if that, and thankfully after fluids, medication and exceptional care, we were on our way back home by 5:30ish. I can't even begin to describe how wonderful, helpful and caring the staff and doctor are at this facility. Kash is my baby, and they took exceptional care of him, and loved on him as well! I selected this emergency vet location based on the overall review score and the proximity to my home. I had a dehydrated Pom Pom due to diarrhea and some other complications. I was greeted at the door with a warm helping tone of the intake personnel and my doggy was whisked away for immediate attention. Moments later, maybe 10 minutes, the doctor emerged with some basic info that she was generally ok, but they needed to do blood work and X-rays and such to try and figure out why there was blood in her stool. Anyways, I was advised of the recommended treatment and agreed. They generated an invoice which only required a signature to begin, but I paid ahead to get it out of the way. All the preliminary assessments and vitals were positive so they determined out-patient treatment was ok. They gave her some fluids and prescribed several meds for treatment and was advised by the doctor what the meds did, how they worked and how often to take them. Then when I was given the meds, I was again told as to how to give, how often, etc. They really wanted to make sure I was clear on it all. Very helpful when you're under a state of duress. I left and by the time I got home, I received a follow up call with the results of the more detailed radiological review, which is performed off-site. All good! Overallhe staff wore "kid gloves" with a high touch and super positive demeanor with me and other clients within ear shot. Very pleased with the compassion I felt. read more

We had a five star experience at Boynton Beach VEG on Saturday, March 6, 2021. Our 12-week old puppy became quite unresponsive, tremoring, and unable to stand. At approximately 7 PM, VEG Personnel greeted us at the door following strict, appropriate Covid policies. They focused on information intake about the situation. They took a very metered approach on what tests to perform and how long to observe puppy's behavior before going further. At one point we returned home to check on what puppy may have gotten into to cause the symptoms. During the next three hours VEG kept us informed about puppy's progress since we were unable to go in with him. Sometimes I had to call twice after waiting on hold; that was a small inconvenience compared to the overall experience. There were easily six other pets requiring care, based on the number of people waiting outside. Dr. Stewart was phenomenal with how she communicated, explaining all the test results and helping us decide the best course of treatment. When we agreed at approximately midnight to bring puppy home, Dr. Stewart assured us that if we had any concerns we could return the next day for a check up as part of the initial visit. The staff was kind. Their respect for both the pets and the families is unparalleled. At one point when there were several of us waiting outside, they brought out small bottle of waters and soda. Also, it was only after puppy was showing significant progress that the reception staff contacted us for basic details like our address and email addresses. Another sign of focusing on the right priorities. They texted the next day to follow up about puppy's condition. Good news is that puppy recovered 100%! I really can't express in words how amazing Dr. Sarah Stewart is as well as her team on Friday night (Lauren, Amanda, Andrew, and Olivia)! I will try though. My dog was in a very serious pit bull attack a week ago while out of town and had stitches and drains put in. I was instructed to take her to my regular vet when we got home to have the drains removed and continue her recovery process. After removing the drains Friday, he told me that her wounds looked fine and to bring her back Monday, I had a feeling since Thursday that something was wrong and he didn't know what he was talking about. I was calling and emailing VEG on Thursday and Friday with pictures of her wounds for a second opinion. Dr. Stewart personally called me several times and seemed concerned. I really feel like she and the whole staff really cared about what was going on with my baby rather then just caring about the money as so many vets do. After the drains were removed Friday I sent her pictures and she said to bring her in because it looked like something was wrong. My regular vet (EX VET) completely overlooked the major infection that was going on in a pocket UNDER the wound. I am so so so thankful that Dr. Stewart is so knowledgeable and found this pocket of infection. If I waited until Monday like I was instructed, she might have died. Or if I took her anywhere else I wonder if they would have even found it. After Dr. Stewart did sooo much for her that night and got her on antibiotic IVs and cleaned out the infection, she was honest and recommended we take her to a specialty surgery center in Jupiter to continue treatment (They are amazing too) that she set up for us. She let me come in the back and see her and really explained what they were going to do for her. They were very upfront about the prices of everything and she even gave me a discount because she knew how expensive the continued treatment would be. She even checked up on us after we left. I had to share the little heart they made to put on her bandage when we picked her up. They even texted me pictures of her after she woke up from anesthesia. I believe that God really directed me to Dr. Stewart that night. I can't explain the feeling I had that I just needed a second opinion and I trusted her so much from the beginning. She saved my baby's life and I will be grateful forever!!!! I wish she could be my regular vet lol but I know what she's doing to save animals in the ER is so important and she is so smart.
