Horrible attitude towards caring for animals. I watch the reception being rude to an older lady and…read morethat was truly sad. Also, big money grad just to speak about common causes or repeated behaviours. Do not judge a book from the cover, while the place looks good, one of the doctors is fake and empty...zero empathy or professionalism. SAD!

Updated to add: our animal is missing a tooth. We just found out. This vet did an "oral exam" and…read moredidn't notice a missing front tooth. Wow!!!! You can tell the tooth has been missing for a long time. We just adopted the animal but it's heeled well. PSA: About Clarence-Rockland Veterinary Hospital The vet guessed at everything, you have to push for answers. His exams are a joke! He didn't listen to heart sounds, or lung sounds. He doesn't take a temperature. He didn't check ears or teeth (until I asked him to). He feels around a bit, maybe looks under the animal's tail. THATS IT!! That is the exam my animal got. He blames the owners when we questioned him. The clinic is overpriced and I felt like they milked us for money on useless tests that provided inconclusive results. We are going somewhere else, the vet is useless. As soon as you question something he flaunts his "medical" degree in your face and says his colleagues all do the same. Which I know to be complete BS because our previous vet was great (before the move). The receptionist is just as dismissive. She brushed away our concerns and told us to come back "when the Doctor is in." When the Doctor was literally sitting in the back because my partner had just brought in our animal 30 mins ago. They charge us for an exam with every booster. However, as described above the vet didn't perform a proper exam. You literally have to point things out to him. College of Vets of Ontario are being notified.

Saying goodbye to our beloved French bulldog, Jax, was a difficult moment in our lives. From the moment we arrived, we were treated with professionalism, compassion, and respect. Dr. Martin and Hannah took the time to explain everything clearly, answered our questions, and ensured that Jax was comfortable, dignified, and surrounded by love in his final moments. The clinic was clean, calm, and thoughtfully prepared, which helped create a peaceful environment during an emotional time. Most importantly, they gave us a genuine sense of peace. Jax was treated not just as a patient, but as a member of our family. We are forever thankful for the kindness, care, and humanity shown to all of us.

We brought in a kitten we just adopted who had ear mites, and an infection. They were very gentle, kind, and supportive of us. They took great care of my kitten! If you can't afford the vet bills to make sure your animal is in proper health - don't own an animal. They're not belongings, they're living creatures that require care. This clinic is fabulous and will be our Maven's primary care facility!

I have been a client of Cumberland Veterinary Clinic for around 20 years, but as of today, I've…read moredecided to take my business elsewhere. Reason: I requested a prescription for my Yorkies heartworm medication so I could fill it across the border at considerable savings. I purchased one box at the visit - a 3 mth supply for my two dogs for $175. My visit total was around $800 and I could not afford a second box at their price. I was told they could not write me an Rx because it was illegal. I was confused because the clinic had previously provided me with an Rx for a "human" drug my Yorkie needed with no issue (Vet wanted $40 to dispense 3 pills and I found that much to high). I asked 2 more times before I left the clinic for the Rx. Nope. "It's illegal". Next day, I called the College of Veterinarians of Ontario and guess what...It's not illegal and an Rx must be given if requested according to Regulation 1093, Part 3, Section 26. I called Cumberland Vet back, informed them of this regulation and once again requested the Rx. They informed me that there was no manager in on the Friday and they would get back to me. They did get back to me, today, (a few days later) and informed me they'd happily give me my requested Rx - BUT there would be a cost at $56 to write each Rx (around $112 for the two dogs). Reason: They only write Rx for drugs they don't carry. This is in conflict of their providing me the Rx for the "human" drugs which they also had on hand. I've always had good veterinary care for the animals I've brought to the clinic so this is not the issue. The problem lies in how they've handled a situation with a long standing client, and providing erroneous information contrary to their regulatory body. Sometimes, Cumberland Veterinary Clinic, a client wants to provide the best possible care to their furry loved ones, but cannot afford the high prices they face in seeking that care. This may be due to many of life's circumstances they may be facing. It is very unfortunate that you acted so disingenuously and chose a punitive approach. All it did was cause a break in trust and for me to seek vet services elsewhere.
