I specifically searched for one the closest to the border with good reviews and Provet Clinica showed up. Since originally discovering this vet in 2025, I have been taking not only my dogs, but I am also a pet sitter so I offer to take client's dogs. I have probably been to his office over 20x's in the past year and he has been amazing. He is knowledgeable, explains everything in detail and even uses a white board and draws pictures to make it easy to understand. He is honest and his prices are amazing. If you're searching for a vet in Mexico that is easy to find and super close to the border, do not hesitate to go. It is on a first come first serve basis, but if you arrive 15 minutes before they open, it's typically a 30 minute wait. There is limited parking but I'm always able to find street parking and have never had any issues with either my vehicle or ever felt unsafe. Very kind staff and even the people who live there and the other clients who go to his office are very friendly.

Called this place. Got an appointment within an hour. Arrived early. Got seen early. Fast and attentive service. Very professional. They attended my dog very well. Made me feel like my pup was in good hands. I'll definitely be coming back. But I would like to mention that they are not 24 hour. I drove from LA with the idea that I would be seen at 12:30 when we crossed the border. Called. Showed up in person but no answer.

If you must go there…read morebecause of an emergency and have no other alternative, keep your belongings under constant supervision and do not let them out of your sight for even a moment. My iPhone disappeared during my visit. Four hours later, when I was already entering the United States and had an internet connection through my husband's phone, the tracking system continued to show my device inside this establishment. I immediately requested to review the security-camera footage. However, they allowed me to watch only a very short clip and refused to show me the rest. While I was asking for an explanation, two employees whispered to each other, exchanged looks, and sent messages while reviewing the videos. Their behavior significantly increased my concern and distrust. Later, when I formally requested the recordings, they claimed to have reviewed all the footage and insisted that I did not have a phone with me. This version of events is completely contradictory: I used that same device in front of the veterinarian and other employees to show them the official government requirements needed to issue my pet's travel certificate. The veterinarian also pressured me to purchase a deworming product that had already been administered to my Sphynx cat only two days earlier. I presented the product that had been used, its original packaging, and the instructions from the veterinarian who treated my pet during our trip to Playa del Carmen. Nevertheless, she claimed that she did not believe the treatment had been administered because the product had not been purchased from their establishment. They required me to purchase another product exclusively from them, even though I could not administer it to my pet again because repeating the treatment so soon would not have been appropriate. They warned me that if I did not make the purchase, they would issue an incomplete travel certificate. I formally requested a copy of the security footage in writing. They refused to provide it and offered only an in-person viewing, expecting me to return to the same place where my phone disappeared and where, for obvious reasons, I no longer feel safe. The matter has already been reported to the appropriate authorities. I would not return under any circumstances. In total, this visit caused me more than USD 1,500 in expenses and losses, in addition to the wasted time, distress, and numerous problems resulting from my phone's disappearance.

Chili suffered a…read morefractured jaw and needed surgery, and I was having such a difficult time finding a veterinarian who could help us. I went to several other places and was turned away, but the receptionist at Hospivet was truly my hero. She went above and beyond to get Chili seen **as a walk-in without an appointment** when we desperately needed help. I will never forget that kindness. The price was a little high, but it was still **far more affordable than what veterinarians in California were quoting me**, and I am very thankful we were able to get Chili the treatment he needed. Dr. Gutierrez did an amazing job with Chili's first surgery. She took the time to explain what was going on with Chili and helped me understand the situation. I also really appreciated that they sent me a **video and a picture of Chili the following day**. As a worried pet parent, being able to see him and know how he was doing meant so much to me. Chili is definitely a little stubborn--he has been giving them a hard time about keeping his muzzle on--but the staff has been patient and is working on other options to keep him comfortable and safe. We are currently waiting for a response regarding Chili's **second surgery**, so we are still hoping and praying everything works out. But I want to take a moment to recognize Hospivet and their staff for helping us when we were turned away elsewhere. **Thank you, Hospivet, and especially the receptionist who made sure Chili was seen. You are truly my hero! ** I am so grateful that you opened your doors to us when Chili needed help the most

The 3 star is for the receptionist!…read more We first came to this clinic about four months ago when our dog was very sick, and we had a great experience with Dr. Sayra. She was kind, compassionate, spoke perfect English, kept us updated throughout the visit, and took the time to explain our dog's condition and treatment plan clearly. She made an incredibly stressful situation much easier, and we're very grateful for the care she provided. We also saw the cardiologist while we were there. Although he seemed knowledgeable, he wasn't very friendly and often appeared annoyed when we asked questions. As worried pet owners, we were simply trying to understand our dog's condition, so his attitude was disappointing. Unfortunately, our recent experiences with the front desk have been frustrating. Last month, when our dog needed to be seen urgently, we couldn't get an appointment. The receptionist told us to take her to another clinic. We requested a referral, but our message was completely ignored. This week, I tried scheduling an appointment a few days in advance. The receptionist asked for my name and my dog's name so she could look us up in the system. After I provided the information, she never responded back. I followed up the next morning, and my message was still ignored. This was a completely different experience from the receptionist we dealt with four months ago, who always responded promptly and was very helpful. Dr. Sayra deserves five stars for her excellent care, but the lack of communication and responsiveness from the front desk has been very disappointing. When you're dealing with a sick pet, timely communication matters just as much as good medical care. I hope the clinic improves its customer service because their veterinarians deserve better support. I'd recommend to go down the street to New Vet. They are helpful and responsive!

We've been coming here for several years now for vaccinations for our chihuahua. Located a few miles from the Otay border, I noticed the place when I was having work done on my vehicle at a nearby shop. I dropped in one day and saw the prices, which totally wooed me back! It had started to become inconvenient and expensive here(in US) for us. The prices are super reasonable and of course much lower than anywhere in the US. The quality and level of care is equal to if not better here, yes, believe it! Note: Take the time to exchange dollars into pesos, to avoid miscalculations and improper change back from transactions. On our occasional visits, there has been only one quality, licensed veterinarian that does all the exams and vaccines. Actually, we like this. He remembers our dog even though we come only once a year, and this goes a long way with us. He scolded my wife when she confessed to giving our little dog pork & chicken bones. I warned her.. More of a personal touch. It's never been a long wait time, and we can drop off the dog and hit Wicho's across the street, or shop at Soriana, which happens to be in the same parking lot. We always call ahead,(which I recommend)to make sure the doctor is in that day. It is a full on pet and feed store too with many items for cats, dogs, birds, chickens, etc. They have found a customer for life!!

We brought our Golden Retriever, Mr. Charlie Brown, who has a history of hot spots and skin issues, and met with Dr. Ngo. I couldn't have been happier that we found her. Right when she came into the room, she sat criss-cross applesauce on the floor with Charlie, gave him pets and love, and made him feel comfortable before giving him one of the most thorough exams I've ever seen. She didn't just do a quick swipe of his fur, she literally inspected his entire body and took her time. Dr. Ngo is extremely knowledgeable, explains things in a way that is easy to understand, and never makes us feel rushed. She also understands how expensive veterinary care can be and doesn't recommend unnecessary testing or treatments. Every time we see her, I get this reassuring, comforting feeling that my fur pup is in good hands, which is something I felt was missing with our previous veterinarians. Finding a vet you truly trust with your fur baby means everything, and I'm so grateful we found Dr. Ngo and Escaya Vets. THANK YOU DR. NGO

During this most recent visit, we picked up a probiotic for our Aussie Shepard pup, got allergy shots for our mini-schnauzers and met with Dr Urbina to check our schnauzers tail that's been bothering her. Dr Urbina is well trained, knowledgeable and doesn't pressure us with options like other vets. Their vet techs (we love Breanna) are so caring and helpful too. Other procedures we've had done for our pups: dental cleanings, x-rays, biopsies, and when our schnauzer had pancreatitis (so scary!), we came here to have daytime water drip when we finished at the Emergency vet overnight. Parking- it's street parking but we always find a spot. It's nice to have all the grass because when our pups are nervous, we'll take them around the grassy area before the appointment. Overall, We love this place and will continue supporting small local businesses!
