Very kind and professional staff from the front desk nurse and Vet. I had to get a procedure done with my 15 year old bully I have never been thru before and they walked me thru every stage of the process. I would highly recommend this business. Ty Escaya Vet team

Compassionate, Honest, and Efficient -- Thank You Dr. Naomi Urbina & Escaya Vet Team!!
Amberly R.

I had such a wonderful experience at Escaya Veterinary Clinic with Dr. Naomi Urbina. After a horrible and exhausting night at an emergency vet where we waited over 3 hours just to be told we might have to wait another 4-5 hours or leave our dog overnight, I called Escaya the next morning--and they were able to fit us in for a same-day appointment. From the moment we arrived, the difference was night and day. We were seen exactly at our appointment time, and the entire visit took less than 45 minutes. Dr. Urbina was kind, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable. She took the time to explain everything clearly, answer our questions patiently, and made sure we felt comfortable and informed. You can tell that she and the staff genuinely care about your pet's well-being, not just the bottom line. Our dog was treated with compassion and respect, and we were too. There were no unnecessary charges, no confusion, and no pressure--just straightforward, honest care. The total cost was significantly less than the emergency vet quoted us, and the experience was 100x better. If you want a vet who is thorough, transparent, and truly cares, I highly recommend Dr. Naomi Urbina and the team at Escaya Vet. I left feeling relieved, cared for, and grateful--and most importantly, my dog is already feeling better. This is exactly the kind of veterinary care every pet parent hopes to find!!!

I usually take my cat to a different vet for about 3 years now. My cat had what seems to be UTI or crystals in her urine. My regular vet was booked, so I tried a different vet, Escaya. It was refreshing because I prefer a smaller clinic over a large busy one. I really like vet tech Brianna's personality. She is warm and friendly, unlike my regular vets lobby personnel and assistants, which are more robotic and not engaging. I am switching to Escaya for both of my Sphynx needs. The covering veterinary (Dr. Decker) made me feel more comfortable with my cats medical issue. Not all veterinarians understand they treat both the pet and owner.

Dr. Urbina is very knowledgeable in her practice and treats your pet like her own. I'd recommend her for your veterinary needs.

Are there walk in neutering services available?

We do not do walk-in surgeries. For elective procedures, you need to set up an appointment for an initial doctor consult/exam to establish care. From there, the doctor will determine your pet's anesthetic risk and what pre-op tests are recommended.… Read more

When we got to the appointment, the vet told us she wouldn't provide that because of her personal morals. I respect that veterinarians can have their own opinions, but it would have been really helpful if the clinic had told us that upfront before we booked and paid for the visit. Because of that, the appointment ended up feeling like a waste of time. Instead, the vet recommended several medications. We may consider that route eventually, but we were hoping to try a more holistic approach first and simply needed the clearance we had asked about ahead of time. To make matters worse, while we were waiting in the exam room there were two large fleas crawling around. Seeing fleas in the room at a veterinary clinic was pretty concerning. Overall, the lack of transparency beforehand and the cleanliness issues made this a frustrating experience.

I'd like to give this place 0 stars if I was able, don't take your pet here…read more I took my mom's dog here last weekend and had the worst experience I've ever had a vet - no help, no actual explanation and horrible wait time. I waited over an hour to get seen when we had an appointment. Our dog passed away today and I think they could've done a much better job in supporting us. I paid $900 to get an xray done and to see why my dog was vomiting - they said they only saw gas in her stomach but she had stuffed animal stuffing and part of a toy in her stomach - please explain to me how I paid $900 for an xray and none of this was seen...?! Are you joking your xray machine couldn't see this in her stomach? What was the point of the xray? Truly an absolute terrible experience and think if they did a better job of supporting us then we would have been able to save our dogs life. Please don't come here. I will forever regret giving this place my money and the opportunity to try and save our family pet. I can't remember the Dr's name but Dr F - their new Dr - absolutely terrible service and also extremely rude over the phone to me during a traumatic experience on my mom's birthday no less. Update * Called the office manager and was told the DR is having personal issues at this time, probably explains the terrible service we received and the neglect of our dog which led to her death.

This is specific to Dr. Sinopoli and her team. God placed the right people in my path to see my Einstein through his transition. I remember the exact moment when I saw my little guy's condition change. When you are one with your fur baby, you just know. Our visits to the vet were more frequent and there were no real answers. We monitored... I was so desperate for answers I blessed by being assigned to Dr.Sinopoli. She made recommendations we put into action. Although we did our best it was evident there was a decision to be made. She provided me with options. Never once did she persuade me one way or the other. We looked into oncology/surgery and pet hospice (Lap of Love) . I did my due diligence for my Einstein. It was the hardest decision and the most heart wrenching experience to have to send my Joy, my companion, my reason, my Einstein over the rainbow bridge. Dr. Sinopoli held his paw and my hand every step of the way. Even after my Einstein crossed over , Dr. Sinopoli and her team were there. They checked in on me . Had I met Dr. Sinopoli sooner perhaps the outcome might have been different. Perhaps she was sent to Einstein and I at the appointed time. I am forever grateful for her kindness and her support. -Yara and Einstein

You never know when this place is busy or not but they do a good job to get your animals taken in. The tech quickly took our pup and assessed him. They stabilized him, let us go back to see him and also meet with the evening Vet within a few hours. I was surprised at how young the Veterinarians are but was impressed by their bedside manner with all of our questions, talk through options calmly and I didn't feel pressured to make a decision on any of the options. You can tell the day shift and the night shift communicate and coordinate well with eachother. That's hard to find across shifts with our industries/companies but I was impressed that they made it a nice transition between doctors. Highly recommend taking your animals here for the evening or weekend emergencies.

The team at Plaza Blvd is so amazing--when i first noticed "something off" with my german shepherd mowgli, i called a ton of places just going off yelp reviews and recommendations. They were busy, but not busy enough to show extreme compassion for mowgli and myself--they gave him pets and quickly diagnosed him with an infection. They were reassuring, not scary at all, and just instilled so much trust from the first visit. I left with antibiotics and suggestions for next steps (extractions) and what everything would cost. The team was professional and caring, and prices were fair. I'll be taking Mowgli here for the rest of his life!

I needed to find a vet near me in National City and found Plaza Blvd Pet Hospital. I called to make our first appointment and was helped by Gabby and she was a perfect first point of contact. She was attentive to me during our chat and I didn't feel rushed even though I know there were a lot of calls coming in. On the day of our appointment I was greeted by Shu the vet tech and she was also friendly and really sweet to Cedric and I. I like when my fur baby is treated like family because he is family to me. Next we met with Dr Castaneda. I was yet again pleased with his attention to my concerns and very informative on what Cedric needed to get him in the best health. I had a follow up visit today and met with Dr Dhaliwal ( Dr D) the primary Dr for this office and for the 4th time I was impressed and very pleased with his attention to Cedric's needs in regards to his allergies. Dr D is definitley in the right line of work as there was no denying that he loves animals- Cedric loved him. Thank you Plaza Blvd pet hospital for treating us so well and giving us a safe, clean and friendly place to come to for all our future pet health needs. *Also Plaza Blvd pet hospital is a very busy office and they are very transparent with their fees and policies regarding no shows and what to do if the need arises to cancel your appointment so do not be alarmed with other reviews of clients complaining because they weren't able to show up whenever it was convenient for them. This place is GREAT!
