Fairly decent space for vendor events, parties, and so on…read more It's inexpensive, comes with chairs and tables, and there is a bar on the other side, separated by two doors, which is good. The bar will stay open while your event goes on, thus, two doors, good. Patrons of the bar won't bother you, and if you want a soda, it's cheap ;) Only thing that is a bummer, as soon as you walk out of the hall into the space between the bar and the hall, you will smell alcohol. The chairs and tables aren't exactly spotless, so you may want to bring your own tablecloth.

Out of all the posts and legions to rent halls from this is one of the greatest values. Not alot if memorabilia on the wall to cover. Which I know comes with the territory, which if course I didn't want to be disrespectful to cover but usually there is do much not here to its easier to decorate. It's super big and the staff is no e and really doesn't bother u at all. We could bring all our own food and drinks. This party was great, we covered the place head to ties with balloons and drapes of colorful plastic tables cloths and not one peep. As long as you clean up after, they don't bother you. I thought I would pass this along I know halls are expensive and sometimes are so tough to decorate! Of also lots if parking! The bar does have some interesting patrons but they did not interfere with us at all!

I found Veterans Rebuilding Life (VRL) on Google and its been an amazing experience. They are very respectful and understand the trials of a military veteran in regards to the time consuming process of applying for Veterans Affairs (VA) resources and services. I was able to get some emergency food, clean clothes, socks, hygiene products as well as opportunity to work gigs to make money through Veterans Rebuilding Life (VRL) non-profit's huge list of supporters. I feel blessed to have stumbled on this non-profit that really does what they say to change the narrative of how veterans are being treated in this country. If your a person who's interested in donating to a non-profit that really gets to the root of the problem and provides a solution think of VeteransRebuildingLife.org they can use your donations to help more veterans like myself get on their feet. Thank you so much VRL!

Why an institution? First... note the date that it was founded and second, not just anyone can join. Enough said. My family (in-laws) have been members for a very long time and thus I have eaten here many many times over the years. If you know someone who is a member, this is a wonderful place for a dinner or a party. The building is completely unassuming from the exterior but once you walk in to the main parlor the Worcester Club's interior is a stately example of how fine Victorian architecture was back in the day. We had my wife's 40th birthday here over the weekend and there were 9 of us. Of course, we had our own private dining room which is pretty standard for group of that size and larger. The food is excellent, but being not overly hungry I had a simple salad and winter vegetable and spinach risotto. However, there were little necks, oysters, shrimp and other apps being devoured at the table. Dinner plates varied from lamb to sirloin to seafood specials. They even made an off menu plate for my 5 year old. Everything was plated well and appreciated for what it was. We tend to only dine here for special occasions and will be back as soon as another get together is needed. As always, thank you to our host Richard and thank you to the WC.

But the one in Vernon, CT was a horrible experience. After we left the building clean and with no damages, (I have pictures) they did not give me the deposit, supposedly because guest did not tip the bartender. The male bartender that was there first, Jim, did receive tips and was even offered food. When Heather took over she was rude and demanding but still received tips. Maybe not all guests tipped but that should not concern me since I, the person renting, was tipping. A deposit is for damages, not for lack of tipping. It's because we are Hispanic. It makes me feel like if it concerned a white family there would not have been an issue. Then they went to say and I quote "James George" exact words were YOU People disrespected the bartender which is a total lie, since she was the rude one, and then hung up the phone on me. My father is a member and a veteran and we are all appalled by thier words and behavior towards us.. They are quick to take the money but find an excuse to not give it back.. They are very unprofessional. I would give 0 stars if I could. Guess they need the money more than me since it's a non profit! Enjoy James, buy yourself some manners. Marilyn

(This review applies to their Food Fair)…read more Flashback - it's the Halloween storm of 2011. We had no power for ten days. What we DID have was a ton of great food to eat by flashlight, courtesy of the Prince Thomas of Savoy Society's Italian Food Fair, which we had conveniently bought just a few days before the lights went out. I'm not Italian, and I'm not a member of this Society, but for the last 4 or 5 years, we always research the date of this amazing Food Fair, write it on our calendar, and go and pick up high quality home-made pasta, soup, sauce, casseroles, and baked goods. As you walk into the room, your eyes will pop at the wall of food set up on folding tables along the right wall. It's quite a sight to see all of that lasagna, parmigianas, pasta, chicken cutlets. They also have a teacup auction for restaurant gift cards and a drawing for some pretty hefty gift baskets. We were there yesterday morning, a few minutes before they opened up at 11:00. The line was already queued up. We bought a nice container of Italian sausage soup, a pumpkin chili, meatballs in sauce, an eggplant parmigiana and a tray of Italian Zucchini as heavy as a bowling ball. The society was founded in 1917 by fifty Italian immigrants that settled in Avon to work at Ensign Bickford, on the area's tobacco farms, and in the building trades. They promote Italian culture and traditions, and are active in the community. No one really knows where the society's name came from -all of the founding members have passed on and the origin of the name has been lost to history. What has not been lost is our opinion that this Food Fair is a real treat, something we look forward to every year. Buono appetito !!
