The mind is a terrific thing to waste. But it's better done without the hard drugs while spending time in a flea market such as this...wasted amidst the waste (or might that be real treasure you're holding?) Gizmos and gadgets, thingamabobs and thingies, this and that, that and this, doodads and dingalings, flotsam and jetsam, junk and treasure...it's all here in abundance. The third week of each month, the Veteran's Memorial Stadium hosts a cornucopia of stuff from garages, warehouses, storage units, walls, attics and the Twilight Zone. We came on a Sunday in mid-January, a day when it was supposed to be cool, instead finding it in the eighties, sun a-blazin'...ah, California, I love you. I pay entry of $5 each ("Nice skirt, sweetness, but no exceptions.") and the bf immediately buys a $5 ball cap while I suffer hand over eyes as we walk aisle upon aisle of stuff. George Carlin would know how to describe this better than me, of course...stuff, stuff, stuff. What did I need? Not a damn thing. But what did I buy? A magnificent, extremely rare large honey amber pendant with a scorpion frozen inside worth at least $2000 for only $10! Obviously, this vender didn't know who he was haggling with. I score! It's plastic, actually, a well made fake of "scamber" that no one will question when I hang it from my neck while wearing my Diane von Furstenberg 'lil black dress, Sarto heels and diamond bracelet. At least you better not! For $5, this is a very pleasant way to while away a couple hours, wasted or not. And who knows? Maybe you'll find that piece of treasure you never needed but might look great...somewhere.

Attended HS graduation June 2015. The view from the stands was perfect from all angles. You have a great view from any side. The seats are not too uncomfortable considering the age of the stadium. By 7pm, the stands was covered by a large shade and a nice breeze came through from the beach side. What was especially enlightening, out of respect of the Memorial Stadium, they had the Marines come out with the flags and held a moment of silence in memory of the troops prior to the graduation ceremony.

Fire work here at the stadium is just awesome, top it all, with the LB Municipal Band playing thru the whole evening is the best treat b4 the fire work. Free admission is just unbelievable. Love love love being close by this amazing city.

This was my first visit to the Long Beach Terrace Theater to see Joe Satriani and Steve Vai touring…read moretogether as the SatchVai band. The venue has its own multi-story parking lot which is very easy to access, and only charges $15. We arrived thirty minutes before the show, and there was no line to enter the parking lot with many parking spaces available. After a very short walk across the garage and going up a one-story staircase (there is also an elevator), we were on the ground level with the theater. Unfortunately, you have to walk all the way around the large fountain area to reach the security checkpoint and entrance. There was no line and we passed through quickly. Luckily, after the show, you could walk directly to the garage without having to go around again. The theater seats around 3,000 people and has floor, loge, and balcony sections. It is very clean and has a modern feel. The main lobby is spacious and has high ceilings. There are bars on all levels, and some basic food items downstairs. There were also a few food and drink spots in front outside. The concert hall has very high ceilings and is also very modern. We sat on the floor in the second row. The seats were padded and comfortable, and the spacing between adjacent seats and between rows was good. The view of the performers was amazing. There was a large projection screen behind the stage, with various video playing throughout the show. There was some fog on the stage, and the lighting was good, but nothing exceptional. Sitting so close is great for pictures and videos, and you're oblivious to the other 2,900 people in the theater. It almost feels like you're getting a private performance. However, the sound can be hit or miss depending on the performers' preferences and venue's audio setup. The main speaker arrays here hang directly over the first few rows in front of the stage. For the opening band, we couldn't hear any of the guitars at all. Joe played almost completely through his on-stage amps only and the sound was perfect. Steve's mix was half through his amps and half through the main speaker arrays. We could hear his guitar, but not nearly as well as Joe's. It's not the venues fault, the sound is usually optimized for the majority of the theater, and the first few rows may suffer. The opening band was Animals As Leaders. I've seen them a few times over the years as an opener for Steve Vai. They are an instrumental guitar focused band with the unique characteristic that both guitarists use eight-string guitars which gives them a unique sound. Joe Satriani and Steve Vai started out the main show together. They are two of the greatest rock guitar legends to ever play. They played a few original songs together that they co-wrote, followed by both individual and joint performances of a dozen of their popular songs. Steve's unique three-neck Hydra guitar made an appearance. There was also an encore with cover versions of Rock and Roll and Born to be Wild. I've seen Joe 25 times and Steve seven times, and I'll continue to go to every show when they are in town. In between the opening band and the main show, we immediately went to use the ground level restrooms which are downstairs. The lines were already extremely long. On a whim, we went upstairs and the restrooms on both sides initially had very short lines. After only five minutes, the upstairs lines also started to get long. Go upstairs fast and you should have a much shorter wait. The show was great and I really liked the venue. It's modern, clean, and comfortable, with various amenities. The sound mix was a mixed bag sitting in front, but it wasn't the venue's fault. If you want the best chance of a good sound mix, don't sit up front. Parking was very convenient and very affordable. I would definitely come see a show here again. 4.5 stars rounded up to 5.

The thing that stood out was the nice courtyard decor of water fountains. The vibe radiated as the fountains were sparkling, giving the ambiance of a fresh cool entertainment settimg. The outside really looks cool at night because of the lighting structure. I have been here many times before. Experiencing both indoor and outdoor venue entertainment. Just to name a few.. Jokoy, air supply, 90s old school R&B funk jam , Franki Valli and the list goes on. Its not very big inside, in comparison to Crypto or the inglewood forum but it does its job. Stadium seating could use some work if they decide to remodel in the future. Its a clean place with great acoustics. The only negative thing I have to say is the sale of alcoholic beverages! The venue shuts down completely early. Like 9pmsh! Unacceptable for an entertainment venue. I recommend watching concerts or any type of events in this area. Plenty of parking in the parking structure and surrounding businesses nearby. Long Beach is beautiful.

So let me walk you through my experience: First off, we were directed straight into the parking structure, which cost $70 just to park. It was fairly painless but paying that much money just to park is absurd. Next, the ticketing process was overly complicated and invasive, requiring app downloads, account setup, and facial recognition-style verification just to enter. FOR EACH OF US. My huz, who bought our tickets, had to send the ticket to each of us (we went with 2 others) and then we had to download the app and then have our ticket on our own phone. It felt like A LOT just to get through the doors. We got in fairly quickly without needing our bags checked, but I'm assuming that's because of the facial recognition setup and app pre-registration. That, or the VIP entrance privilege we had--which probably helped smooth things out. ‍ Then we went to our seats, which were in a suite, and I'll admit--they were pretty sweet. Big, spacious, leather stadium-style seats with no bad sightlines in the place. On paper, it was great. However, we were told we'd have a server for our suite (which seats about 12 people). The server didn't show up until about halfway through the main performance. When she finally came by, my husband was told that if we wanted food or drinks, we had to place one single order for the entire suite. Uhhh... what now? There were only four of us. We're not ordering for a full suite! Yet another absurd issue. The concessions were actually pretty smooth for food thanks to the grab-and-go, checkout-light setup, which was well done. But drinks were a different story entirely. They had already run out of soda water before the event even started, and somehow four drinks cost us nearly $100. Massively absurd! Between parking, tickets, and now this, it starts to feel like you're being nickel-and-dimed to death. The show itself was great. Nate Bargatze performed for about an hour, with two opening comics who were also very good--but that's not really the venue's doing, so I'll stay focused. SQUIRREL! After the show, getting back to the car was fairly smooth thanks to the pedestrian bridge. But once we were in the car, it took FOR.EVER. about 35 minutes, to actually exit the parking structure. You'd think a "state-of-the-art" venue would have a parking system designed to move people efficiently, but instead it was a slow crawl due to bottlenecked exits and limited road access. So, the bottom line is... the Intuit Dome is visually impressive and the seats and sightlines are excellent--but the overall experience is weighed down by overcomplicated entry systems, expensive parking, inconsistent suite service, overpriced concessions, and an exit process that doesn't match the hype of the building itself. Because if I need facial recognition, an app tutorial, a parking strategy, a budgeting plan for drinks, and 35 minutes just to leave... maybe the real innovation isn't the arena. It's how many ways they found to screw you & complicate watching an event. DO BETTER INTUIT & Steve Ballmer (the owner)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The parking lot is pretty huge and getting here from any direction by freeway or if you live local, you can take the transit here. For the most part, this facility is clean all around. Because it's such a popular venue, they keep this place prettty clean, inside and out. The Kia Forum is, however, a bit on the dated side. Not that it's bad, but when you're inside, you will see that the structure of the place does show its vintage style and age. The coliseum itself goes super high - if you get seats on the third-level, be prepared to climb some stairs! There are a lot of steps at this venue - even to the restrooms. The restrooms are about two long flight of stairs, that leads to the restrooms that are basically in the basement. Again, it's clean and maintained, but there are lots of steps. The sound system at my last visit and with previous visits have been great. You will get great sound anywhere in this venue. One of the best, in my opinion! Staff are also friendly here if you have any questions or need to find something. My only gripe with this place are the parking fees. I paid $55 for parking, but it will vary from $25-$55 for general parking, depending on the type of event. It's very steep! There's parking around the neighborhood, but unless you know Inglewood very well, it can get sketchy outside of the venue. Other than that, love Kia Forum!

I can't remember when I was here previous to our visit the other day. It was probably 20 years ago,…read moreso it's definitely gotten a remodel since then. SoFi is across the street, so the whole area can be crowded during events. It can be difficult to get there from OC or SD, because it's not far from LAX. You may need to go the backways to avoid traffic. Parking is now one of the highest in LA for events. Even prepaying, it was $50! SoFi is even worse ,and so is Dodger Stadium. At least the Greek is only $40 for normal parking. We were in the 100s, and the seats had very little room in between the rows. There was a premium section near us with better seats and more room, but you will pay even more for those seats. Sound was fine. It was weird that you had to go downstairs for the restrooms, luckily there is one set of restrooms with handicap access on the entrance level. We ate before we came, so we didn't have to buy food there. A personal pizza was $19, and a soda was $8.50. Yikes. We only come her for shows where the artist isn't playing anywhere else in SoCal. I would rather drive to Orange County, Riverside, Pomona, or Palm Desert to go to a show, over LA proper.
