The mind is a terrific thing to waste. But it's better done without the hard drugs while spending time in a flea market such as this...wasted amidst the waste (or might that be real treasure you're holding?) Gizmos and gadgets, thingamabobs and thingies, this and that, that and this, doodads and dingalings, flotsam and jetsam, junk and treasure...it's all here in abundance. The third week of each month, the Veteran's Memorial Stadium hosts a cornucopia of stuff from garages, warehouses, storage units, walls, attics and the Twilight Zone. We came on a Sunday in mid-January, a day when it was supposed to be cool, instead finding it in the eighties, sun a-blazin'...ah, California, I love you. I pay entry of $5 each ("Nice skirt, sweetness, but no exceptions.") and the bf immediately buys a $5 ball cap while I suffer hand over eyes as we walk aisle upon aisle of stuff. George Carlin would know how to describe this better than me, of course...stuff, stuff, stuff. What did I need? Not a damn thing. But what did I buy? A magnificent, extremely rare large honey amber pendant with a scorpion frozen inside worth at least $2000 for only $10! Obviously, this vender didn't know who he was haggling with. I score! It's plastic, actually, a well made fake of "scamber" that no one will question when I hang it from my neck while wearing my Diane von Furstenberg 'lil black dress, Sarto heels and diamond bracelet. At least you better not! For $5, this is a very pleasant way to while away a couple hours, wasted or not. And who knows? Maybe you'll find that piece of treasure you never needed but might look great...somewhere.

Attended HS graduation June 2015. The view from the stands was perfect from all angles. You have a great view from any side. The seats are not too uncomfortable considering the age of the stadium. By 7pm, the stands was covered by a large shade and a nice breeze came through from the beach side. What was especially enlightening, out of respect of the Memorial Stadium, they had the Marines come out with the flags and held a moment of silence in memory of the troops prior to the graduation ceremony.

Fire work here at the stadium is just awesome, top it all, with the LB Municipal Band playing thru the whole evening is the best treat b4 the fire work. Free admission is just unbelievable. Love love love being close by this amazing city.

This was my first visit to the Long Beach Terrace Theater to see Joe Satriani and Steve Vai touring…read moretogether as the SatchVai band. The venue has its own multi-story parking lot which is very easy to access, and only charges $15. We arrived thirty minutes before the show, and there was no line to enter the parking lot with many parking spaces available. After a very short walk across the garage and going up a one-story staircase (there is also an elevator), we were on the ground level with the theater. Unfortunately, you have to walk all the way around the large fountain area to reach the security checkpoint and entrance. There was no line and we passed through quickly. Luckily, after the show, you could walk directly to the garage without having to go around again. The theater seats around 3,000 people and has floor, loge, and balcony sections. It is very clean and has a modern feel. The main lobby is spacious and has high ceilings. There are bars on all levels, and some basic food items downstairs. There were also a few food and drink spots in front outside. The concert hall has very high ceilings and is also very modern. We sat on the floor in the second row. The seats were padded and comfortable, and the spacing between adjacent seats and between rows was good. The view of the performers was amazing. There was a large projection screen behind the stage, with various video playing throughout the show. There was some fog on the stage, and the lighting was good, but nothing exceptional. Sitting so close is great for pictures and videos, and you're oblivious to the other 2,900 people in the theater. It almost feels like you're getting a private performance. However, the sound can be hit or miss depending on the performers' preferences and venue's audio setup. The main speaker arrays here hang directly over the first few rows in front of the stage. For the opening band, we couldn't hear any of the guitars at all. Joe played almost completely through his on-stage amps only and the sound was perfect. Steve's mix was half through his amps and half through the main speaker arrays. We could hear his guitar, but not nearly as well as Joe's. It's not the venues fault, the sound is usually optimized for the majority of the theater, and the first few rows may suffer. The opening band was Animals As Leaders. I've seen them a few times over the years as an opener for Steve Vai. They are an instrumental guitar focused band with the unique characteristic that both guitarists use eight-string guitars which gives them a unique sound. Joe Satriani and Steve Vai started out the main show together. They are two of the greatest rock guitar legends to ever play. They played a few original songs together that they co-wrote, followed by both individual and joint performances of a dozen of their popular songs. Steve's unique three-neck Hydra guitar made an appearance. There was also an encore with cover versions of Rock and Roll and Born to be Wild. I've seen Joe 25 times and Steve seven times, and I'll continue to go to every show when they are in town. In between the opening band and the main show, we immediately went to use the ground level restrooms which are downstairs. The lines were already extremely long. On a whim, we went upstairs and the restrooms on both sides initially had very short lines. After only five minutes, the upstairs lines also started to get long. Go upstairs fast and you should have a much shorter wait. The show was great and I really liked the venue. It's modern, clean, and comfortable, with various amenities. The sound mix was a mixed bag sitting in front, but it wasn't the venue's fault. If you want the best chance of a good sound mix, don't sit up front. Parking was very convenient and very affordable. I would definitely come see a show here again. 4.5 stars rounded up to 5.

The thing that stood out was the nice courtyard decor of water fountains. The vibe radiated as the fountains were sparkling, giving the ambiance of a fresh cool entertainment settimg. The outside really looks cool at night because of the lighting structure. I have been here many times before. Experiencing both indoor and outdoor venue entertainment. Just to name a few.. Jokoy, air supply, 90s old school R&B funk jam , Franki Valli and the list goes on. Its not very big inside, in comparison to Crypto or the inglewood forum but it does its job. Stadium seating could use some work if they decide to remodel in the future. Its a clean place with great acoustics. The only negative thing I have to say is the sale of alcoholic beverages! The venue shuts down completely early. Like 9pmsh! Unacceptable for an entertainment venue. I recommend watching concerts or any type of events in this area. Plenty of parking in the parking structure and surrounding businesses nearby. Long Beach is beautiful.

Heavy restrictions on what you can bring in and it was a 27 minute wait to get a bag of popcorn and a bottle of water last Friday night. The stadium was far from full. We have all these tools trying to speed up the game but zero interest in streamlining the process to help us spend even more money at the park. Two lines, a few windows, no posted menu until you get to the head of the line. Is it so hard these days to pre-order digitally? Have a dedicated drinks window? Salt snack window? It really ruins the experience when you miss two full innings standing in line. They have two beer lines but nothing there to accommodate all of the kids that attend Dirtbags games. We have the Coast/Regulators coming in this summer and there will be a riot if that much game time is wasted standing in a tight line. Fix it, y'all. It's a drag.

I got a hot dog here, which was $9. The quality of the hot dog was pretty good and tasty for stadium food and was reasonably priced for stadium food as well. The nachos were pretty reasonably priced too for $9.50. They even came with jalapenos and two cups of nacho cheese. You could debate that the nacho cheese could've came in one bigger container, but that's just like comparing tomatoes to tomatoes. All the packaging for the nachos was biodegradable so that's neat. The outside of this place is cool I suppose. I have no clue what it looks like inside, because when I went to enter, the guy told me I had to talk to a sales rep, so I did. The lady was like you have to buy season tickets to do a tour. I was like you want me to buy the season tickets today to do a tour? What if I don't like the stadium? She said yes. Then she told me I could look at what the stadium looks like online. Yeah I looked at it online but you know what doesn't look the same online and in person? A stadium... just like how Sofi Stadium doesn't look the same on the internet as it does in person... Like who in the world would ever want to be on the fourth or fifth story of that stadium as you can barely even see things on the third floor? So I said whatever and walked away. What a waste of time visiting. Why would I buy season tickets somewhere if I can't even get a tour to see what the stupid place looks like? When I wanted to buy chargers season tickets before the stadium was built, they walked me through the entire diagram. When I went on a tour at the staples center, they showed me the suites, the locker rooms and everything else. Here??? They don't even bother to show you what the stadium looks like! Anyway, back to the point. Get the hot dog it's pretty good. Or the nachos as they come in different colors. Oh at least I got a cool card of myself. That was really neat. But I really just wanted to see what the stadium looked like so I could consider whether this is something I wanted to do or not. Whatever...

I have watched Michael Buble, Ed Sheeran, Ariana Grande, Justin Timberlake, Jingle Ball, Jonas Brothers, AJR, Shawn Mendes, KNOTB & Paula Abdul and many more artists. The further you go up, the seats become tighter and you do not have a drink holder so be aware that spillage of drinks will come down the floor and you may be stepping into stickiness. Also just be aware when you purchase seats that you do not purchase one that says "partial view obstructed". Otherwise you'll enjoy the concert no matter what. Instead, the on-site lot was easy to find, and the staff did an incredible job checking us in and directing traffic. After a short walk to the entrance, we were greeted by very friendly staff who breezed us through security. Once inside, the experience got a bit bumpy. The concourse area was poorly organized, with massive lines for t-shirts and food completely blocking the walkways for people just trying to get to their entrances. To make matters worse, the food selection was limited and very expensive. Finding our section and seats was a breeze, though the seating itself is incredibly cramped with very little knee space. However, once the music started, all was forgiven. The sound system was absolutely superb--not a single glitch during the entire 2.5-hour show. The only other major downside is the weird setup for the men's restrooms. You have to walk down two flights of stairs just to reach them, Also, the sinks to wash your hands are hard to spot. Thankfully, the night ended on a high note. Getting out of the parking lot was surprisingly fast and well-organized. All in all, it is a solid venue to catch a great band!
