They have very nice, newly built play equipment for kids, but it is separated between young children (toddlers) and older kids (up to 12). There is a man-made lake with a sandy beach. It's nice to be able to stop here in the summer for a quick dip without fighting huge crowds. There are some baseball diamonds as well as picnic shelters. My favorite part though is the trail system. They have a well maintained system through the woods and around the lake, and it's never really busy so if you like to take peaceful, quiet hikes this is your place!

And I'm not ashamed of it. You see this is one of the nicest (but not newest--hence the charm) playgrounds I've been on. It's not that new plastic-y stuff. No, this is a good old fashioned wooden set, but massive, sprawling, and the kind of place a kid dreams is a fort on the old frontier, a pirate ship, or a rocket. The rest of the park is nice, too. In fact, I haven't wandered the trail part of it much. But I did dig the ponds, even though by late summer I noticed they were pretty marshy. Since Mason is a pretty small town, you don't need to know much to find it. Just head west on the main road out of town and you'll see it there on the right. Great to come and walk, play with the kiddos, or have a little picnic. I closed my eyes and did that today, and for a second I was there, even if just in my mind.

It helped that one of my friends, Dan, manages the programs here and would point out all the cool trees, plants, and general history as we walked along. He truly made my first time at Woldumar so memorable and his passion for this nature center truly shines through in everything he does - even when he's off the clock just showing boring ol' me around! I've heard so much of all the work Dan has put into this place over the years and he truly makes Woldumar shine bright for all those who come and visit, whether for an afternoon or for a summer-long program! I imagine this place overrun with kids and adults alike when the weather is great and can only imagine how much fun it would be to experience this place in the summertime. There is truly something for everyone here and definitely recommend this if you're looking for a low-key place where not a ton of people will be with some majorly high-key fun and exploration!

It has never been busy, which I love. I'm from So-Cal and all the hiking and trail parks were always packed with people. I used to hate it when people would hike with their speakers on full blast, so annoying. This park is a complete 180, so peaceful. Another perk is you can bring your dogs on a leash. One thing I wish they had more of are trashcans to dispose of poop bags instead of having to carry the bags until you are back in the picnic areas. I wouldn't go into the trails during the winter since there are a lot of roots sticking up and could be dangerous. Highly recommend during the summer and fall, gorgeous.

We were visiting our friends in Lansing, and decided to do some geocaching in one of the local…read moreparks. That led us to here. Tecumseh park seems to be a park in transition. It's a neighborhood park that's got some parts that are a bit rundown (basketball court is grass with mouldering hoops, and there's a decrepit baseball diamond.) There are also some very nice improvements, such as a playground. There are plans to add a kayak launch in the future, which is a great idea, as this park runs along Grand River. There's also an area that they're allowing to become naturalized, with some hiking trails winding through. Altogether this is a great neighborhood park, but not really a destination park yet.

There was a drinking fountain outside the p avillion with a faucet/spicit. It was 91 degrees and this helped us to keep the kids cool whem we ran out of water balloons. The park is very fragmented and separated. The basketball hoops were across the street. I didnt see the fishing or canoe launch. Tight be back further down the road. The large play ground was very far out from the pavilion. My nephew said it was good. Very large and spread out. The space overall helped to contribute to a good day. I would definitely rate higher if it was better taken care of. Particularly the dangerous bathroom.
