Such a fun park to tube at! You are never too old to sled- my group of friends in their mid twenties had a ball here. The park does a great job organizing time slots so the hill doesn't get too busy. Multiple lanes to sled from and the conveyer belt saves so much time and energy of exhausting yourself just on the trip up. The track is fun for racing and group tubing for all ages. Highly recommend for a fun day outing! read more

Great park saw an amazing bald eagle flying in to grab breakfast and caught several bluegills and a few bass

I loved tubing here! If you love hurtling down an icy hill but feel like the walk back up is kind of a drag, they have you covered! You just bring your tube over to the ~*magic*~ carpet and stand there as it conveys you up the hill. The best part is that they only sell a limited number of tickets for each 2 hour time slot so you never have to wait in line. Theres 4 tubing lanes and theyre constantly moving - at the end you just walk right back over to go back up. There's a bonfire going too, so in-between runs you can hang out and warm up. read more

We had SO MUCH FUN tubing here! We actually did this back in 2021, but it was such a great day it was still worth the belated review. We tried to go back in 2022 but by late January the entire season was booked up. Lesson learned- I'll be booking early this winter! We loved that when we were ready for a break from tubing, we were able to warm up by a bonfire and also take a walk through the woods, which was a lot of fun on the winter wonderland of a day we were out there. There was a warming center that was closed due to covid, so I'm excited to check that out too now that it's likely open again! read more

We were looking for a beach to enjoy the last summer days along with our college daughter. We found this place which is less than 10 min from MSU. As other reviewers stated, $3 for residents and $5 for non-residents. We thought this place was going to be packed (Labor Day weekend) and surprise! Not a lot of people in the beach or the splash pad. Weather was awesome and so was this place. My family enjoyed it all and most important, without the crowds that we normally face in Lake Michigan. By the way... If you have a pet, you can bring it along. They have a dog park in the back. read more

Lake, splash pad, trails, playground. What more could you ask for. How about volleyball, paddle boats and a beautiful lawn. I wish there were a bathroom closer to the playground because the distance is really hard for young children. They allow toys in the lake. Bring water shoes. read more

Wow. Tough crowd. Just one other 5 star review? For a county park, I thought this was pretty awesome. $5 per car to get in for non-county residents and they have a splash pad (water fountain) for the kids to splash around in and kill a ton of time and energy in. There's also the beach, but we weren't brave enough to let our 2 year old venture into the water, though we did let him play in the sand and of course eat it like every 2 year old...so yeah, we were probably better off just putting him in the water and letting him drink that instead. We really enjoyed it and certainly wish we had something like this in Northern Virginia. read more

One of the larger parks in the Lansing area. They have tons of activities including a sledding hill, dog park and lake path. There are lots of races and events here. There are a few pavilions and grills for BBQing. Tons of parking but it does get full when they have events going on here. You do have to pay for entry and you'll have to pay and register to get into the dog park. read more

Came here for tubing at the snow park, so fun! Only $12 per person for 2 hours on weekends, but it doesn't seem like they even check so if you really wanted, you could probably stay longer. You can ride the tube up on lift if you're feeling lazy, but walked it up to get some exercise, and you can get in 3 runs in for 1 while waiting in line for the lift. Wish there was something like this closer to metro Detroit. read more

I went to Hawk Island yesterday to catch some rays and it was decent until it began to rain. Parents often take their kids out here to go frolic in the water and since the addition of the spray park, I'm sure even more kids are out. So if you have kids or are into kids, then it's definitely a cheap Saturday afternoon attraction. $2 if you're an Ingham County resident, $4 if you aren't. The kids actually don't bother you as they are busy playing in the water, so it's a nice spot to break out your parasol, some Hawaiian Tropic, and a book. I just wish they had more sand to play/lie in rather than the huge grassy knoll. Also there are picnic facilities, a concession stand, fairly clean bathrooms, and a decent place to bring your canoe or kayak out to. Don't have your own? There's a rowboat/pedalboat livery with good prices. read more

We didn't expect a $5 fee to enter, but it is such a lovely large gorgeous park. We wanted a nice walk before traveling and this place was perfect. One can swim, paddle, picnic and play there, as well! Highly recommend. read more

Great place to take young children during the hot summer months. The splash pad and lake are fun for the kids.

Slow slow slow. Took an hour and a half just to pay for tubing. Do not recommend unless you have a whole day to burn. Workers are rude and impatient, concession stand sucked. Do not recommend and I will not be returning. read more

The only reason it's not a five star park in my humble opinion is because There are "parks" like michigan adventure or cedar point that are better than this one. That being said, this park is mostly free: low income residents can get a sticker and waive the entrance fee, boats are reasonably priced to rent, and (This park) it's a highlight of the city park system. The splash park has been closed on our last 2 visits but my kids love playing in the lake. Everything is very clean and the staff is always friendly. They don't do a very effective job of letting people know that inflatable flotation devices, including water wings, are NOT allowed. My kids were also super excited about the 2 pokestops on the playground. read more

Best park around and it's not close. No matter the season there is fun to be had at Hawk Island!!! Awesome beach in the summer and ridiculously fun tubing hill in the winter... I really can't recommend it highly enough. Super cool and super fun. Great trails for walking, you can rent canoes or paddle boats, fishing, picnics, beach volleyball, splash park, etc... Very good for rolling down 9/10 hard walk up. All my friends enjoy it and there is a very pretty view at the top. Lovely.

We love coming here in the summer. It's a bit pricey, especially if you want to go to the dog park. We mainly go for the playground, splash park, and lake. The trails are really nice to walk as well. Great place to come, cool off, and have fun. read more

I'm only giving two stars, because I visited as a tourist and wanted to take my dog to the dog park. First, it's five bucks to use the park as a non-resident. That's not bad, because it is pretty nice. It's a five star park if you live here. It costs another five bucks to go to the dog park, OK, I'd support that if it's nice. However, you have to have a rabies tag, which is totally reasonable I guess. My dog had a rabies tag. You also have to have a dog license number. Where we live there are no dog licenses, so no license # to give. Without it, you can't use the dog park. So, nice park, a little pricey, can't use the dog park unless you're local, to me equals two stars. read more

I used to come here when I needed to de-stress and just take a walk in the woods. It's a beautiful park, and I love that they have a good amount (for its size) of trails off the paved path where you can wander around in near-total solitude. Be sure to find the trail through the Eastern half of the park that leads to the cemetary - it's a very peaceful walk. read more

Cool park with bike trail, running track and dirt trail in the woods. Nice lake with opportunity to fish. Also a playground for the kiddies. Dogs allowed. I'd give 5 stars but it's pricey to come here often read more

Great place to enjoy nature in the middle of the city. We like to walk the paved trail around the lake. It's about a mile. Much smoother than the RiverTrail, which we used to love before it fell into such disrepair. Our nieces and nephews love the splash park; tables and chairs nearby make a great place for a family picnic. Several large covered pavilions. The new dog park is large and a fun place to frolick (with dogs, of course), even in the winter. Small hill for sledding in the winter. Admission fee ($2 for residents; $ for non-residents) during summer months; we tend to go in the spring or fall to enjoy the colors or winter for th dog park, and have never had to pay. Never used boat rental, concessions, or swam in lake so can't rate. read more

Probably the best man made modern park in the lansing area. Has a very nice running track too.
