We were looking for a beach to enjoy the last summer days along with our college daughter. We found this place which is less than 10 min from MSU. As other reviewers stated, $3 for residents and $5 for non-residents. We thought this place was going to be packed (Labor Day weekend) and surprise! Not a lot of people in the beach or the splash pad. Weather was awesome and so was this place. My family enjoyed it all and most important, without the crowds that we normally face in Lake Michigan. By the way... If you have a pet, you can bring it along. They have a dog park in the back.

Lake, splash pad, trails, playground. What more could you ask for. How about volleyball, paddle boats and a beautiful lawn. I wish there were a bathroom closer to the playground because the distance is really hard for young children. They allow toys in the lake. Bring water shoes.

We had a blast snow tubing at the park. Great facility with a warming station and plenty of tubes. I can't wait to go back!

Great place to take young children during the hot summer months. The splash pad and lake are fun for the kids.

Very good for rolling down 9/10 hard walk up. All my friends enjoy it and there is a very pretty view at the top. Lovely.

Probably the best man made modern park in the lansing area. Has a very nice running track too.

$5 per car to get in for non-county residents and they have a splash pad (water fountain) for the kids to splash around in and kill a ton of time and energy in.

The main area of Frances Park has plenty of parking, many picnic areas, and a full enclosed pavilion that can be rented through the Lansing Parks Department . Within the park, they have a beautiful rose garden with a nice jiview of the Grandriver. Frances Park has a .9 mile walking trail around the soccer fields and through the woods. Great place to take in the views.

Despite living in East Lansing for six years, I'd never even heard of Frances Park until last month…read morewhen my boyfriend and I went there for a family birthday party. The park is located on the Grand River near the Lansing Country Club. The park itself is pretty large and very beautiful! There are elevated views of the river, a stunning rose garden, a sprawling lawn, a playground, and a large pavilion for events. We enjoyed the shade of the pavilion on the hot June day, and the kids at the party had fun playing on the playground. There are built in cornhole boards which the older kids had fun with. There are some short trails around the rose garden area that we walked on and stopped at the lookout point to check out the river. This park would be a great place for a wedding, wedding photos, birthday parties, picnics, etc. -- if I lived in the area, I feel like this would be my go-to park! No fees for parking or entrance and clean restroom facilities round out this five star park.
